We stayed in the one bedroom suite with ocean view and had a lovely time. The room itself, whilst a bit dated, was very comfortable and spacious. Sadly due to the age of the building there is no ac, which wasn‘t an issue, as you could keep the windows open and listen to the sea. Staff was very acommodating and helped us with our luggage (the room was on the first floor and there‘s no elevator). Inside the room there’s a large Jacuzzi, which along with the rest of the room was in good working order and very clean. The restaurant located downstairs is exellent and definitely worth a visit. Overall it was a very pleasant stay.
We booked 3 nights at Bonniebrook and stayed in one of the cottages as we brought our Duck Toller dog with us. The property itself is nicely located directly across from the beach and a stones throw away from Chaster Beach where you can view magnificent sunsets. The cottage only had a queen sized bed although there was ample room for a king. The bed was soft and saggy and did not give a comfortable night's rest and the sheets felt sticky. There is no A/C but they do have a ceiling fan which was definitely necessary. The room has a small bar fridge but it's awkwardly located in the bathroom which isn't really a room it's just an open space which is part of the main room with the shower and toilet behind a sliding door for privacy. The entire property isn't particularly well taken care of, they need to spend some time on grounds and building maintenance and update the cottages all round, they are dark and outdated. Also, the office isn't open all the time so it's hit and miss if you can go in and talk to anyone. For the price they are charging, it's not worth the money.…
This little Inn is a romantic special adult highway especially with the situation of today. The location is on the beach, quiet and the best part of it is their restaurant. It is THE BEST! Enjoy the martinis , the food is to die for and the service outstanding. Treat yourself to the for a day or two. Be prepared to walk up a long flight of stairs if you choose the penthouse. Also the owners need to make sure the iron in the room has been emptied and cleaned of water as I stained my blouse with rust water. Otherwise, it is great.
The cheerful staff seated us immediately even though we did not make a reservation. We were physically distanced from three other “pods” and had a panoramic view of Howe Sound with Keat’s Island as a backdrop on the horizon. We started with An excellent martini with a complimentary side of sun dried tomato pate. Following that, my wife had the Tarte with pear & feta. I had the smooth as silk carrot soup followed by the Digby scallops floating on Yuzu Gastriques, mint etc. All washed down with a cheeky Argentinian Malbec. This was enough food for two seniors & we waddled home completely sefuncified!
Second visit with my wife. Staff who checked us in and helped us to carry luggage was very friendly. They do not offer full housekeeping service due to the virus and we do understand that. When We go out we left the used towels outside of the room and staff had new towels ready at my door When we back. The room was clean and comfortable. The ocean is just on street away from our balcony. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed for dine in on Wednesday, but they do offer take out which is cheaper and have bigger portion. Same chef, gorgeous meal. Got a free desert for our anniversary. We were surprised that take out food could have such great presentation. Great experience and my wife and I will come back next year.
We stayed at the Bonniebrook from the Sunday before Labour Day for three nights in the Penthouse West. The location is very lovely with beach access across the road and ocean views from our suite. The rooms were obviously well decorated a number of years ago and now need a refresh. Bed was not comfortable and needs to be replaced. Jetted tub did not work. The restaurant is amazing but only open a few days a week. Also, we were a little disappointed that no one asked us how our stay was when we checked out, nor did the staff check on us during the stay to see whether we needed anything. Overall for the price we expected better.
Have known it for being a great place to stay. Stayed two nights and for 600 i was expecting more. Due to COVID19 i was told no housekeeping, and they mean it. No offers of towels or phonecall to see how our stay is going. No trash removal either, i had to walk it to the office. Lower the price if i have to carry my own trash. I came here with wife and kids. One of my kids is Autistic. Having had at least more towels and and some kind of room sevice be performed would have made for better stay. There was lighting dangling from the ceiling on a track mount, and i reported it as it was over top of the kids who slept in sofa bed. Was told it keeps popping out, but its safe. Thats it. Exterior could use work too. Porch light was out and thankfully we never walked into a bear. I think its under new ownership. Tip to owners, to have a hotel up in gibsons and be successful, you have to be like the locals. Friendly and hospitable. We booked with a women on the phone named Gaelen. She was very helpful and friendly. Perfrect representation of coaster attitude. We did not see her during our stay.…
Such a beautiful building, there is not much of this era anywhere near Vancouver. We stayed in the penthouse suite. Very comfortable, lovely balcony view over the Strait of Georgia across the road. Very quiet and peaceful and right on the beach for waling. Jacuzzi bath and fireplace finished off nicely a very tastefully appointed room. Only down sides are being an old building, there is no elevator so the stairs a bit of a hike with heavy bags. Also no fridge. The heat is also maintained by the fireplace, which keeps coming on and off, which is a little disconcerting when waking up at 3am seeing flickering flames! The in house restaurant Chasers was absolutely superb and I will review that separately.
We decided to bring our two little Cavalier King Charles on this trip, so we (understandably) couldn't stay with our friends in Gibsons as usual. After doing some research, The Bonniebrook Lodge seemed like a great option. And it was - we had a small cabin with a fireplace and easy access to lawns for the dogs. The location was ideal - It was an easy walk to the beach, which was enjoyable even in the cooler fall weather. And it was just about five minutes to downtown. The staff was friendly. The lodge was quiet at night. We will definitely go back.
This was a lovely spot about 5 minutes to downtown. Right at the ocean with a large grass area to sit and watch the waves. The garden suite was very private and cozy, with a jacuzzi tub, and a walk in shower...(great shower!) We would definitely stay here again.
