Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Red Deer. The cabin was comfortable and adequately equipped. Cooled off with a swim at the beach and enjoyed sitting at the waterfront. Will definitely have a return visit.

First off i have to tell everyone i am bias. Not only have i stayed at Red Deer since I was a child(i am 52 now) My grandfather built them. My mother and I would stay at Red Deer in the summer even though we have family living in Madawaska. The picturesk Baily bridge that i used to fish bass...

Thanks for filling in the history that I was not part of! It's funny, when the Madawaska school did a project about local history they left this place out. This is now the oldest continuously operating tourist destination in the area. I have resisted the development craze, and continue to offer something retro on purpose; lots of noisy crowded campgrounds...

A couple of friends and I went canoeing in Algonquin Park and stayed here for a few days beforehand. It was a great place to relax, sit by a fire, and practice canoeing (for my friends who were new to the craft). Beautiful place, wonderful stay.

It's really great to see the different perspectives clients offer. Strangely my reviews are all different. It seems everyone finds a different piece of peace here. Thanks for your insights, and may your waters always be calm.

My husband and I have been coming here for the last 15 years. Before we were married we camped with our friends, then we graduated to cabins. We both love it here, and now we introduced our kids to this magical getaway and they love it too. There is always something to do, from kayaking to canoeing, fishing, hiking, many...

Always a pleasure to have you! When you arrived last time, it really did seem like you had just gone to buy groceries... I am really enjoying watching your kids grow up. Come back before they are much taller!

I've been coming here since 1995, the place is extremely well organized and it is truly a place to relax. I've been to Red Deer Log Cabins with dogs, with small kids, with big kids, without kids. Always, and every single time it was amazing. This is a nature retreat, this is not an all inclusive in the Caribbean and...

Do you know you are one of the very few "4 generation" guests? I'm always charmed when European grandparents are brought here on their visits to Canada. Thanks for introducing your friends to my place as well. Hopefully next summer you can swing a longer escape from "the Big Smoke" and have a really relaxing vacation. BTW, I love that...

I really like the setting on the sandy riverbank with lots of quiet shoreline. This is an enchanting physical environment. I would probably come back, but not during a busy weekend. I think the campground doesn't work well at even 50 percent occupancy. It is hard to tell where to drive versus where to camp, because there are no markers....

This is very sad. Why would you slam my place like this, and give such a low rating? Most of what you comment about is well beyond my control, and has little to do with my property. 1. I don't like seadoos either. I ask that people play on them in the big lake (Bark Lake) where the amount of...

The lovingly restored log cabins are very special and the quiet of the wilderness contribute to this very special getaway. Paddling a canoe along the shore to the falls, hiking in the wilderness and just being able to relax away from the noise and lights of the city make Red Deer a wonderful retreat. The toilet and shower facilities are...

Thanks for the thumbs up! Hope it's not long before we meet again. One of the best things about this place is (most of) the clientele. I work hard to attract the right people, and most of the time it works. Quality over quantity...

We returned this year for yet another escape from reality :) The place is amazing, as usual. The waterfall, the lake, the mushrooms (yes, you have a mushroom soup)... Our favourite escape location, 5th year in a row

Hi Igal, thanks for the vote of confidence. And thanks for bringing all your friends! The only thing better than seeing families on vacation is seeing groups of families on vacation.! Since we were introduced to this place 3 years ago, we are coming back each year for one of the long weekends. Our first year was in a cabin, then we bought a good tent. The "place in the middle of nowhere" as the owner describes it is totally worth the escape from your daily routines. No Timmie's, no Walmarts,...
