A rustic and comfortable family-run hotel built on the grounds of a former coffee factory. While its extensive gardens and lake views foster a feeling of seclusion and relaxation, our central location in a Guatemalan town unspoiled by tourism lets you experience traditional village...

Dear Mikkel M., we are so glad that your second visit did not deceive your memories. Some times, you remember a place very fondly, and the second time is not the same. It happens especially with food. We strive for quality and for working hard...More

The view and the garden is amazing. Everything else is in the edge of poor or medium. The food is good but has little variety and portions are very limited. Rooms are basic, without blackout and you can hear noise from town. Prices are overvalued.

Hello Marta, If you come through Chimaltenango (Carretera Interamericana) after passing Tecpan/Katok (Km 90) keep driving until Km116 a place called Las Trampas. Turn left here toward Godinez (about 15km of bad road). In Godinez turn left again toward San Lucas Tolimán (Patulul-Cocales). From Godinez to Toliman there are 15km, half of that of bad road. You will meet a T with a gas station (Santa Alicia) at the end of the road, turn right and keep driving until you read Hotel Toliman (parking lot and front desk to the left).
If you decide to take the coast route try to drive with day light, cautiously, checking for all the "baches" (holes) on the road, specially from Km 89 to 105. Remember that aft Km 89 there is a turn to the left with traffic coming right in front of you (they have to stop...). This turn is to avoid crossing the towns of Siquinalá and Santa Lucía Cotzumalguapa. Keep right on the road at all times -there is one part when suddenly the one way road becomes two ways. At Km113 is Cocales turn right to cross Patulul, and keep driving for another 28 kms to the hotel. About one third of this part has also holes to watch for. This explanation sounds worst hopefully that in reality. The reward comes at the end of the road, where magical Lake Atitlan awaits your visit, and our staff will be ready to spoil you. We are looking forward to your visit, and appreciate it very much in anticipation.

Thank you Juliethe for your answer and kind words. The restaurant usually open from 7am to 9pm, but we accommodate to our guests needs or wishes. Our night guard who is a very helpful person always ready to please, can make coffee and warm bread any time, as early as 4am or before when people leaves to the volcanoes. Sometimes around 1am he is making coffee for early travelers. If asked the night before as Juliethe suggested, breakfast can be served before 7. For groups of surgeons and other groups, breakfast is ready at 5:45am. It will be a privilege to serve your needs.
