Small, tranquil resort in the sunny North Okanagan catering to young families. The resort hosts 8 well-spaced cabins and has a maximum capacity of 50 guests to maintain privacy. This exclusive resort has its own private lake and sits in a forested mountain valley with sprawling meadows. The cabins are rustic chic, with full kitchen and bathroom, wood burning stove, porch, bbq and family fire pits. Some have hot tubs as well. Although there is a business centre with free wi-fi, families are encouraged to remove their phone sim cards and focus on taking in the setting without distractions while they relax at the resort, connect with each other and recharge.
We stayed in Cougar Cabin, the cabin was clean, comfortable, and well appointed and the hosts let us know to just ask if we needed anything. What a beautiful place to go to relax. Kids had a blast paddling around the lake on the kayaks, fishing, soaking in the hot tub, hiking along Echo Lk, and playing on the beach, not to mention campfires, hotdogs, and marshmallows! I highly recommend, you’ll definitely want to come back as soon as possible.

Picked this place on a whim. We stayed in what was called the Deer Cabin. Probably the oldest cabin and the smallest, but with character and the closest to the lake. If you need a place to just chill, catch up on some reading, play cards with the family and take the occasional amazing hike then this is a good place. The cabins are spaced apart so there is privacy and while our cabin was old, it was well maintained. The owners are definitely interesting characters and hospitable with good local advice when you need it (like which trial should we do today?).
The drive up to the resort is on a well maintained gravel road, but I will warn you that it is a dusty drive (best not to follow a vehicle if possible), but that is the price you pay to find a remote gem like this.

What a lovely location to have a vacation. Turn off the cell phone and relax! We enjoyed a walk around the lake and many forest adventures. It was a delight to find the goats and hens and to see the owners wife milking the goat! What a fun experience! The boats were so fun and gave a great experience on the water. Best of all we made new friends! Loved our time! Highly recommend.

Rustic cabins way out in the boonies down dirt road off of a small pond. No cell service which is exactly what we wanted. Bring in all your own foods, bedding, towels. That’s all fine even with the weekly price @$2-2.5G per week. It’s secluded and rustic with probably 6-10 families or couples around as well. Under new ownership they are jacking up the prices. No offer to people who have come there for years to extend prices for another year for loyalty or discount. Projected prices are exorbitant for rustic cabins near Lumby. They should start providing bedding, towels and toiletries for luxury accommodation prices. So many people when we were there were talking about this and their disappointment. Some people had been coming 10+ years and were saddened that they would not be coming back. Depressing atmosphere and shady. Another cute spot ruined by greed.

Hi, I’m the new owner and would like to respond. We are a fairly young family with 3 kids. The previous owners had it for 26 years and no mortgage. We are running a new business during high inflation. Instead of tricking people by having low prices and adding fees for extra children, cleaning, using the wood burning hot tubs and sauna… we wanted to be more upfront with the cost without all the hidden fees. As just mentioned we added more value by investing in 3 wood burning hot tubs that everyone can use and a wood burning sauna by the lake. We upgraded a lot of other little things. Then on top of it we still provided a 10% discount for our guests coming back in the summer. Every business is raising prices, we are no different and all we’ve tried to do is add more value. The majority of our guests are returning and love it. I’m sorry it isn’t right for you.

Originally from Ontario, I'm constantly looking for an environment in BC similar to cottage country I grew up with. Cozy Cabins hits the nail on the head. Our 3 kids just ran completely free for 4 days. Stopping into the cabin just for food and watermelon. Catching frogs, biking the property, playing in the field, building sand castles, camp fires all day, rainbow trout fishing, hiking to Echo Lake, swimming, board games. No internet here which is fantastic you can really unplug (can get wifi at main lodge if need to).
To boot, the hosts Kim and Harald are fantastic and Harald took our kids on trailer rides and quad rides around his property.
It's a no brainer we will return next year. But for a full week this time. Lumby so close so if you run out of anything it's a quick drive to replenish.

We just returned from a fabulous weekend at Elk Cabin! We were greeted by Dave #2 who gave us the low-down and assured us we could bother him day or night. This was not needed as the cabin was perfect with everything we needed and some extra touches (I particularly liked that there was coffee and filters if needed). The property is amazing and so peaceful - we explored, paddled, fed the chickens, admired the many, many butterflies and enjoyed charcuterie feasts on the shore of the lake. We didn’t try out the hot tubs or sauna or swimming as the water is still pretty chilly, but definitely will next time as we have found a new place for our ladies retreats! It is clear that Dave #1 and his family are passionate about their new business and providing a great experience for their guests. I highly recommend staying here.

This is our second year coming back to Cozy Cabins. The cabins are rustic but well stocked and perfect for a getaway to unplug and the kids loved it, especially the gift of smores from the staff. Be back again next year.

We had a perfect stay with family in two of the cottages. There were rowboats, fishing, kayaks, playgrounds, walking trails and campfires galore. The grandkids had a blast doing everything they could imagine and we adults enjoyed our time with them and the environment.

I recently had the pleasure of attending cozy cabins. I’m a single mom and took my 3 kids there, I felt safe and comfortable the entire time. My kids loved the little beach, swimming off the rope and docks, fishing and hiking. I loved the quiet, the disconnect and the coziness. Kim and Harald are absolutely amazing people and made this vacation so enjoyable. I so highly recommend this hidden little gem, and I’ll most definitely be back.

We rented Cougar Cabin which was bigger than we needed, but the only one left. Made great use of the hot tub on the deck (having travelled from Maple Ridge by motorcycles). The 12 km gravel road into the property was in good condition, but we were unable to take the bikes down to the cabin as it was soft, steep ground. Harald provided VIP parking outside his busy workshop at the main house.
Spent quiet relaxing time playing cards, working on puzzles, and listening to nature (amazing thunderstorm in the evening). My favourite moment was a short walk to the little lake on the property at dusk. No one there, just stood and listened to a myriad of bird sounds, watched bald eagles fly overhead into a nearby tree where they had an interesting conversation with each other. Or maybe me?
Thanks Harald and Kim for your hospitality.

We are glad you were able to unwind and find peaceful moments here at Cozy Cabins. Hope you did not get caught in the rain again on your ride home. We were impressed that you decided to bring the motorbikes even with the gravel road and rainy forecast. So glad you were able to enjoy a relaxing time here. Hope to see you again! K. & H.

We are sorry, but we do not have campsites at our resort. We just rent out cabins. You may try Echo Lake Fishing Resort, which is just 3 km from us on Echo Lake. They have around 30 campsites.
