We spent the most marvelous 3 days at this wonderful, magical place. We led a small group and had space and time to soak up the sun, the rain and the river in all of their glory. We’ve been there 3 times in 6 months. That’s how much we love it. Marco, the manager is 10/10; and Frank the owner, just shows why the place is so special.
My family and I traveled to Costa Rica two weeks ago and were lucky enough to stay at this remarkable lodge for 8 days. I cannot say enough good things about this place, it is even more spectacular than the pictures can show, and the staff goes above and beyond to make every detail special. The food is beyond all expectations, and they catered to all of our gluten and corn-free dietary needs. We also had a different, fresh-baked bread each morning with the included breakfast and each night that we had dinner. Due to political protests happening all over the country we ended up being the only guests for a few days, and it was the most relaxing and magical experience. The poos and hot tub are sparkling clean, and
OMG. This place exceeded our expectations. We always look for "off the beaten track" locations, and the Rio Chirripo Lodge is just that. The breakfast here was by far the best, most fresh breakfast we have EVER had ANYWHERE. Initially I was lured to the hotel by their 2 hot tubs (one heated with logs!). This was important to us since that region experiences a lot of rain, which hinders outdoor activities. We spent hours and hours in the afternoons in the 2 jacuzzis, and doing hot/cold therapy between entering Rio Chirripo and the jacuzzi. Last, the staff was outstanding. Alejandra was in charge of checkins and basically everything else, since she was present literally 14 hours a day. She was so attentive to all our needs. Frank, the owner, is frequently at the location, and rarely without a smile. I can continue on and on, but in conclusion, this place is a MUST! Loved it!!…
My wife and I stayed here 3 nights as part of a lovely tour with RR Escapes. The setting is so beautiful, a slice of heaven in the mountains. The rooms are well appointed, comfortable and the grounds are stunning. They are right by the side of a fast running river which is so amazing. The pool, facilities and staff are all top notch. The food was certainly a highlight. Our meals were included in the package and it was plentiful and delicious. My wife has a very bad milk allergy. The staff took note and ensured she always had a great variety of healthy and delicious meal options - all milk free! There is so much to do close to the retreat, I'd go back in a hear beat.
This is our favorite lodge in Costa Rica on our 7th trip there in the past 10 years. It's hard to describe the scenery off of our balcony. It's a bit of a climb up to their cabin above the main lodge, but it is definitely worth it. All of the resorts in Costa Rica have had wonderful staff and Rio Chirripo is no exception. Food is all organic and healthy. We did a daily yoga lesson with Meghan which was superb. Bird watching and nature reserves nearby are wonderful
