Great accommodations for being in such a remote location. Great breakfast every day. Just a very pleasant experience. Large open room for the restaurant. Very cozy in the wintertime. Good room service accommodations as well.
We stayed at Scandic Leknes for three nights in July 2020. It was easy to find the hotel and there was free parking outside the reception area. Check in at the small reception was fast and we got a room on the upper floor but it did not seem like there was a lift, so we had to haul our big suitcases up the staircase. The room was quite neutral when entering with grey carpet, light walls and two single beds. It was easy to push the beds together, but the room was not very big and to get room for the suitcases, we had to move the chairs and small table around. We found a small red pill on the floor which was not a problem for us – but if we had small children this could have been a serious issue so there should be focus on cleaning the rooms well! The TV and internet worked fine and there was a small wardrobe with 2-3 hangers. The beds were a bit soft but provided decent sleep. The bathroom was tiles, had a good shower option with a glass door that prevented splashing and there was shampoo and soap dispensers in the shower. The breakfast was not completely buffet breakfast yet due to covid19. Instead you could get bread, a plate pre-made with various spreads, yogurts and there were also eggs available (boiled, scrambled, fried). There were not that many people at the hotel, so it was easy to find a seat in the breakfast area. The restaurant in the hotel was closed during the weekend which was a shame as there were not that many good restaurant options in Leknes – and most of them were quite packed. Location of the hotel was good – a short walk to the main street. Conclusion: a standard hotel with a standard room. We used this hotel as a base to get easier access to places in the southern part of Lofoten. Leknes would have been better if there were more dining options in my opinion.…
Location was in a residential area but very close to their town's sentrum. We chose this hotel on our 6th night in Lofoten as it was within our budget at 1300 kroner a night with breakfast. Nothing much to see in Leknes especially around the location of the hotel. It was clean. However at night, we could hear a helicopter hovering. The breakfast was boring. No bacon or omelette. Just ordinary boring food choices. If we were to go back to Lofoten again in the future, I will not definitely stay in Leknes. I would rather stay in a hotel near the mountains or the sea.
It is a nice looking old wooden building. The reception desk is a bit hidden, you need to look for it on your right when you go in. The room is normal Scandic quality, comfy and familiar. There was some unpleasant smell in the bathroom (plumbing) but otherwise all good. Breakfast was very good as expected. Fast check-out is possible.
The hotel is well situated near the centre of Leknes, conveneint for shops and restaurants. Our room was clean and comfortable and just large enough for two and the ensuite bathroom has a good shower. However, watch out for the high sill for the bathroom door, my companion stubbed a toe very hard on this. The receptionist and other staff were friendly and efficient. The free breakfast is good and the eveing meal on offer is also of good quality.
