After driving several kilometres on unsealed Gregors Road we found the signed turnoff. From the turnoff there is a couple more kilometres of dirt track to the cabin (just keep left). From Penneshaw, our GPS took us off the sealed Birchmore Road onto West Highway One which is unsealed; then left onto Gregors Road. You can also continue past West...

We stayed there 2 nights by beginning of October. The setting is very nice and the owner friendly and helpful. In the morning and in the evening there are plenty of wild kangourous grazing around the house. We had even the chance to feed them next to Cathys house, what an experience! The only thing was that the house was...

This really is a beautiful cottage and a fantastic location, with kangaroos coming to the porch to be hand fed bits of apple, but be warned if visiting in winter. We arrived in late July on a cold afternoon, looking forward to a warm welcome only to find it was colder inside than out. The only heating is a log burner...

Thank you for your review and we are pleased that you enjoyed the cabin and location. We apologise for the fire not having been lit prior to your arrival which we endeavour to do when able. Unfortunately both Kathy and I work full time and on this occasion weren't able to light the fire until after returning home. We trust...

All the attractions we wanted to visit on Kangaroo Island were on the south coast (Seal Bay, Kelly Caves, Flinders Chase National Park) so Eleanor River Homestead was well located for our purposes, being not that far from Seal Bay. Kangaroo Island is huge and other than the main north and south highways the roads are not sealed so travelling...

I love this place. From the moment you enter the property you feel relaxed. It's picturesque views and outback sounds are to die for. The cabin is more than comfortable, it's homely, clean and no expense has been spared on the fixtures and fittings. Owners Kathy and Graeme are very accommodating and will bend over backwards to make your stay...

The house itself is well equipped and comfortable. The hosts have made a great effort for this property to be as sustainable and eco as possible, which I commend. Local wildlife was abundant (so be careful when driving at night!) and the serenity a great break from 'city life'. We chose this venue based on proximity to KI highlights and...

Arrived and let ourselves in. Lovely spacious cabin. Graham arrived later to say hi. Some confusion over the breakfast we had ordered but he arrived back later with a basket of goodies for us. We enjoyed walking to the river (creek) and watching the wildlife. Saw several koalas at the back of the cabin. We used the fire the first...

We spent 2 nights here last week taking two friends from Malaysia along with us. There are 2 bedrooms - one with queen bed and the other with twin beds and sofas in the lounge that convert to beds if needed. For 4 adults it was a perfect fit. Our friends especially loved the 3 kangaroos that came to our...

This is the perfect place to stay for a great experience on Kangaroo Island. Kathy and Graeme are such a lovely couple who welcomed me and my friend Christine with open arms! We feel very lucky to have met them. They invited us to feed the kangaroos that you can see everywhere around the area - they came right up...

I'm still overwhelmed by the welcome we had at the Homestead. We stayed in Cathy and Graeme's own cabin on a B&B basis rather than the self-catering cabin. Location was perfect - very central for visiting everything on the Island. Our hosts could not have been friendlier and we feel very privileged to have been able to share this piece...
