We were hesitant to keep the reservation when we learned that the hotel had recently been bought out of bankruptcy. But seeing the recent comments, we decided to give them a chance and we did well! Not perfect, but they deserve their chance. The exterior of the building needs some love, but the terrace around the pool was very good (brand new), 2 jacuzzis, sauna and hammam very good too. Renovated room, very clean, comfortable bed… outdoor fireplaces in the evening: beautiful atmosphere. Clean and warm swimming pool. Beautiful terrace.

The site is fantastic with its beach across the street… bring your board or kayak and it’s great! Possible to make a fire at the beach too.

Some points to improve. The towels are tired (clean, but yellowed), an extra seat in the room would be nice (or a sofa)… let's give them some time.

My main criticism: the restaurant… we had lunch and it was EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE for what we had (2 eggs and bacon very good, but ultra standard for $22 + tax and tip). This strategy should be reviewed: serving a good, affordable lunch would bring volume and give a better experience to customers. The Latin music was also a little intense… so the food was very decent, but the price was outrageous. If the dinner experience is the same, it can definitely be shocking... and that probably explains why the dining room was empty!

Hopefully they will rectify the restoration strategy and continue the improvements to the building. But they deserve their chance! The rental is exceptional!

Would stay at the hotel was very pleasant. Rooms were clean and concierges were extremely helpful in providing us with directions and suggestions to get around road construction on nearby road. We were very happy to find a burning outside firepit lit and waiting for us to enjoy as we returnd from our supper. Special appreciation to Abdel who went above and beyond when he arranged for my forgotten book to be shipped back to me. It's a lovely hotel and we look forward to returning!

Disappointing compared to the photos. Room with 2 beds on the first, facing the road was very small, tiny bathroom, beds not comfortable because too soft. Nobody reports water?? It is irony and brown, smells unpleasant in the sink and shower, which explains why the Inn offers a bottle of spring water... no soap in the shower, it is on the wall with the sink, we had to ask for a bottle for the shower, never seen this in 30 years of Trips! Very basic lunch, breads, a toaster, coffee, yogurt. Not seen or tried the spa or sauna. The Pension has done renovations but the room did not reflect it, old furniture and damaged walls, bathroom looks like a cheap Quality Inn, not the 4 stars indicated on their exterior poster, it lost stars along the way. For the Award, look elsewhere honestly.

The room was good, in terms of very very ordinary service, I would even say mediocre. No Wifi in any case no code registered either at the entrance to the Hotel or in our rooms. The person at the ordinary reception if we don't ask any questions we have zero information. The restaurant is closed for renovations. Continental breakfast just ok and not varied. Always the same things to eat every morning. As for the spas a big zero 2 spas including 1 broken. The next day spa closed at 9am when it is supposed to be open until at least 10am. Very disappointing. Very comfortable bed, nice view of Brome Lake but not worth the price we paid. Lunch is served between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. go go go go go go go for lunch and then finally it is 10 a.m. and lunch is still there.

If you are expecting the comfort of Chateau Bromont or Manoir St—Sauveur, you will be extremely disappointed…. The swimming pool is closed as of May 25, one spa out of service and the other so dirty that you wouldn't even have dipped your big toe. In the room, the coffee machine is not functional and the bathroom floor is not level, which meant that the floor was constantly wet after a shower. Breakfast consists of a stack of croissants, orange triangle cheeses and a few pieces of melon. In short, we won't be coming back...!

Urgent need for love and coordination of services. Clean room but stained sheets. Dated bathroom, lack of product when it's time to shower and drain that doesn't drain. Service at the restaurant is very ordinary, very expensive and the employees seem disorganized. I don't recommend it even though Brome Lake is a beautiful place to go.

We were in the area for a couple of days for a family event and this hotel was perfect. The rooms were spacious, very clean and very comfortable. The desk staff were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. There was some confusion (our fault, not theirs) regarding other family members who were staying and the staff dealt with the situation professionally and with sensitivity.
The complementary breakfast buffet was also very good with a selection of cheeses, pastries, yoghurt, fruit, juices and coffee. I was also happy to have nespresso machines and pods in the room.
I would definitely stay here again when I am next in the area. Hopefully the road construction will be completed soon.

The picture is far from what we can see: the restaurant is not open and the rooms are not so isolated as to hear the showers and toilets of the contiguous rooms and the neighbor above.
Moreover, “exclusive” access to the beach is not because this access is now rented by the day to all those who pay!
We are looking elsewhere for our next stay in the Estrie.

We were initially impressed and then less so when you start noticing that efforts have been made to make it look renewed but that in fact the effort was only half hearted.
Whoever designed the bathroom should have actually used it before finalizing the design..awkward placement of the sink made it tough to work with. The shower is all gizmo’d up but has no pressure.
The hotel itself looks like it’s falling apart and this is a shame as it has such potential. The front desk people are nice but their kindness alone wouldn’t have me running back. It’s great for a one night stay but I wouldn’t stay a whole week.
Had breakfast and I had to keep asking for syrup for the pancake and I was made to wait…they come prepackaged and we were the only people in the restaurant and they still managed to get the order wrong. So wouldn’t eat there again. And even the restaurant is trying to look high end while it’s far from high end.
It’s a shame really. For a last minute one night stay I would go back but unfortunately it would te my first choice.

Dear Connie C. Thank you for having taken the time to post your comments on your stay with us. Admittedly, the past few years have been challenging for us; the new owners since the spring made a substatial investment in our infrastructure which, of course, did nothing for our guest experience. Rest assured, there is a commitment to improving our product and services whereby, we hope Hotel Lac Brome will be your first choice when visiting our beautiful area in the future.

Short version: overpriced.

Long version: staff were very pleasant. However, rooms are advertised as “luxury” (luxueuses). There was NO luxury in our room. The room was very spacious, but sparsely furnished (bed and two very small, side tables; one desk with straight-back chair; one armoire with mini fridge). No easy chair.

The bathroom was dated and is in serious need of a refresher/update: tiny bathroom, tiny vanity, older tub and fixtures, peeling wallpaper.

My husband and I found the bed uncomfortable (too soft), but I concede that that is personal.

The hotel staff was very kind and proud about the amenities: hot tub, sauna, fitness centre. These are nice to have, but when I book a hotel room, my primary need and concern is my room and getting a good night’s sleep—which should be any hotel operator’s primary focus, really. I found my experience at Hotel Lac Brome lacking and disappointing.

All in all, I would say that the hotel was way overpriced. I don’t feel like I got value for the money I paid. I would not recommend.
