Just returned from a nights stay here at Oakwood farm mews, the room itself was pretty new and very clean. The bed was two singles strapped together (didn’t bother us) was very comfortable and we slept well although I was woken in the morning by some traffic noise as the building is right by the main road. I’ve only rated a 4* as we wouldn’t call it “luxury” the outside is still having work done diggers and piles of dirt etc and it felt a bit random having a dog groomers and photography unit right opposite our window (felt a bit industrial) there is a small cafe on the site but we can’t comment on that as we are at the wheatsheaf pub about half a mile down the road that does all you can eat breakfast for £4.49. We found it conveniently located for our trip into Chester and Cheshire oaks, we would definitely stay here again.
Stayed overnight on our way South. Arrived late after reception was closed so the excellent staff called us to make sure we had all the info that we needed to pitch up and access the facilities. Nice clean showers and toilets. Bit of noise from the road but also very convenient for the motorway. Wi-Fi included and worked all over the small site Cafe on site but coffee dreadful.
we chose here because it was dog friendly and central to places we were visiting we were made to feel welcome and the room was large comfortable and nicely furnished. plenty of room for our case and to put the dog cage up. there is a great shower and plenty of hot water and fresh towels. there is a kettle and provision for a hot drink in the room there is an on site tea rooms that does an excellent breakfast but you need to be prepared to drive for evening meals. but plenty of choice with in a short drive
Yes, that's right, don't bother. Don't bother looking for a friendlier, better situated and nicer place to stay in Chester, Oakwood Farm is the perfect spot. The mews accommodation is very well appointed, with all the comforts of a chain hotel/motel but with so much more charm and character. All the staff were really friendly, the on site cafe did a full English breakfast that would put any top class eatery to shame. 10/10 for the entire experience.
Being total camping novices we decided to book a weekend pitch close to home to find our feet with camping. We chose Oakwood Farm as the facilities, price and photos were all spot on. We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend even with the wind and rain and found the owners so friendly and welcoming. The touring park is large with great space and the washing facilities are perfect. There is road noise but you soon get used to it.
