Pros: Its cheap. Good fresh omelettes in an otherwise poor continental breakfast. Cons: I don't thing any of the top booking sites should be offering this property. Dining room being renovated while we were there. Room dirty throughout. Toilet seat broken. Swimming pool water green, no way I was getting in that. I'm surprised at some of the good reviews on here. Come on people: tell it like it is. My advice is to pay more and stay at a decent hotel
After arriving we got surprised as the resort seemed to be old and was being renovated at the time. Anyway after first shock the room was spacious and clean, staff are very nice and helpful and the owner speaks very good English and also is very nice. Breakfast is pretty big and tasty. They changed our sheets just after one night. You can rent scooter in the place. Cheap and good stay for one or two nights.
The "resort" is sometimes disturbing, it seems to have been abandoned for 20 years. The gardens seems dirty jungles, there is no one taking care of them. The swimming pool seems a green lake, it hasn’t been cleaned since long time (I’ve been told that it was cleaned in the last week by a hotel guest who decided to help his owner for a week). The room was only apparently clean, in the bathroom was full of hairs (not ours) and the sheets had different stains. There is a bad smell in the room and the water stinks. The area used as a restaurant was very dirty and populated by cats that were too young to hunt mice running around in the kitchen. In the morning we arranged to prepare something for breakfast as the staff arrived only at 8.30 and we had to leave at 9.00. Don’t trust the pictures that you see online, they are old and not realistic at all!!…
I've been second time here. This time I decided to stay for whole week in "Mountains view" villa because of sence of calmness and happiness. Staff was very friendly and helpfull. Free fruits supplied from their own farm was a plus.
Stayed 3 nights after my horrible experience with the staff in Apple. Welcoming staff, best deal in town (private room with shared toilet). Toilet was beautiful, excellent hot shower. Super tasty food. Some times I couldn't have dinner cause seems the staff was too busy or sth. But overall great place. It is run down and u do hear your neighbours but the important things (good shower, comfy bed, clean sheets, good food, nice staff, good price, great Kok river view in the communal area) are there.
I was very disappointed with my stay at the Areeya Phuree Resort Thaton. The place is really run down and in poor condition The place is definitely not a 3 star facility and I propose that this is taken under review There were no staff as to speak at the resort and the manager/owner had to be called from where ever (off site) to come and assist with anything Not recommended at all!!
The whole resort is dirty, broken and I felt like I am disturbing the staff. I think, some years ago this was a nice place but now ... it looks like a lost place. Everything is damaged, they are holes in the ground, which are also dangerous. I can not recommend it.
The resort is situated on the bank of the river Kok just a short walk from the Thaton bridge, and a 7/11. The Resort is very pretty and has great views of the river which is very nice. The garden looked as if it had seen better days but was still very pleasant to stroll around. The swimming pool looked to be out of action for the foreseeable future as it was filled with tools, and drained of water. We stayed in one of the detached two roomed bungalows at the front of the resort which had a view of the river. Upon first inspection the room looked very disappointing, there was a beehive on the porch, the aircon looked like it was at least 20 years old, the room was a mixture of different woods but on the whole quite dark, and there was a large tree and assorted pebbles in the bathroom. However after a few hours in the room we came to quite enjoy it. The aircon worked very well, the bees never bothered us, the bathroom gave it character as did the walk in closet which reminded me a little of the 'chokee' from Matilda, the beds were comfortable and in the end we found it to be quite a pleasant room. The main flaw with the room was its lack of a fridge I feel that if it had had a fridge it would have made a great improvement, as there are not a whole lot of places to eat in Thaton. The Breakfast was the undoubtedly the worst part of our trip, the bread was quite plasticy and came in tiny white squares, which were not improved much even after being placed on the electric grill they used as a toaster. The fried eggs were very cold, and some of the fruit I had was over ripe and mushy, neither the coffee or the tea were very nice. I felt very sorry for the lady who was making the breakfast as she seemed quite flustered and inexperience with breakfast foods. The omelette she made us looked very much like deep fried scrambled eggs and tasted of the artificial cheese flavouring they sell at the movie theatres here. All that being said, the staff were very friendly, the room was comfortable, the wifi was good and the location was convenient for our purposes. All in All an enjoyable stay.…
Stayed here with a group during our recent visit to Northern Thailand. The hotel is a bit out of the way, quiet, right next to the Mae Kok (river). My room was a two bedroom suite with large king bed and extra room with two singles. Shower head came off the hose and I couldn't fit it back but water flow and warm water worked well otherwise. Had a very good Pad Thai for snack and excellent (but simple) dinner. Personally, I had a good night but some of my friends were less lucky. Walls are thin and hats stand near each other, so if your neighbours are night owls you won't have a good nights rest.
A good place to relax from the busy city. Resort is situated on the Kok River. We traveled with family and stayed in the villa. Large and clean villa. Friendly staff. Very tasty food in a traditional style. Thank you for a nice holiday.
