Very affordable accommodation, rooms, though just a bit too small are spacious, clean and the view is breathtaking. Dinner... they have everything! We saw fresh fish and simply every kind of Thai food you can think of. I would give them 6 stars for the food alone! Big portions, amazingly good, as they say in Thai 'sai djai'. It's a bit of a walk to town if you're without a transportation. The view compensate that.
Stayed a night here in one of the Plantation Rooms overlooking the tea fields and which was booked by our tour guide All Thailand Experiences. Very scenic drive thru the hills to the resort. Comfortable aircon rooms with great views over the plantation from the balcony. What i would call 3 star. Beds were comfortable. Considering its remoteness it is very good accommodation. Note they do have lower cost rooms which did not look as nice. Dinner and brekky both local food and very good. If nothing else its worth staying here for the views.
Location: it is quite far from the Thaton village, but I knew that. Dinner: nobody paid any attention I was siting in the restaurant and had to bring the menu myself. The staff kept staring at their mobiles. Ordering was kind of OK. The food was OK too, but ordered chicken was not chicken but definitely pork. Room: smelly with fungus, gaps in porch doors, big ants even in bed, clean sheets Breakfast: starts regularly 7am and confirmed last night, but 7:20 nobody present. Had to call to wake the waiter and cook up. Went to the kitchen to ask for something and the sight was not pleasant. Hotel grounds: dirty dishes & empty bottles stored overnight around the reception
I'm traveler only one. Thaton Hill Resort is nearing main road and comfortable journey. You'll see the scenery around the beautiful nature and mountain backgrounds. I want to say Thanks you Khun Fah, Khun Nae and every one. they take care of me very well.
We were amazed by the kindness of the resort/manager, Khun Fa. She welcomed us as if we were VIPs. The resort has good clean rooms with a queen size bed, a sofa set, free WIFI and satellite TV. The bathroom was clean and has hot water heater for the Thailand winter. The room rate was good and came with an American breakfast which you will enjoy in the restaurant up at the top of the resort overlooking the Mae Ai plains. The resort is built on the side of a hill and has view over the back mountains and plain of Mae Ai, which is quite stunning in the morning and evening. The gardens around the bungalows are well maintained with flowers and fruit trees. The overall experience was very enjoyable and we will definitely return. Thank you Khun Fa for being a good host.
From the beginning this place impresses as a little different. As you drive up the steep drive to the car park staff come out to meet and greet you, and truly, I can't remember the last time I experienced this. The reception is very friendly and the staff, throughout our stay, did everything to ensure we felt welcome. The room was lovely, spotlessly clean, and after reading previous reviews I noticed there were two packs of new disposable slippers provided, so the management either listens and responds to reviews (very commendable!) or some people just had a different experience. The bathroom was very nice, and the shower curtain actually worked in keeping the rest of the bathroom dry! The bed was comfortable, although only a double. And the room had a lovely outlook. The resort is set in a garden paradise. Clearly a lot of work goes into the garden, and it really shows, it is just beautiful. The food at both dinner and breakfast was great and reasonably priced (breakfast was included for my booking). Be warned, if you go to resorts to watch television (really????) there is just the standard Thai TV, it wasn't an issue for me, but may be for some. Anyway, as I said, I really enjoyed my stay here and I will definitely be back. And soon.…
We didn't stay in the resort but went there for lunch as recommended by a local. One of the best Thai lunches we had! The steamed fish with Thai herbs and lemon was delicious. The restaurant is not listen separately on Tripadvisor so far. Let this not stop you however.
Checked in at about 4pm. Wanted to have a quick shower, but couldn't. Their Well water pump had broken down, so no water. 15 minutes to repair, we were told. But water resumed only 2 hours later and it was dark brown in colour. The toilet is dimly lit, can barely see my face in the mirror. Its the countryside, i thought, be understanding. Its hot and humid out, so decided to chill in our room. But AC isn't working properly and there's no fan. So i'm chilling and sweating and couldn't take a shower. Oh, did i mention that the complimentary room slippers were filthy? Check out the photo. Would you put your feet in those? We had 3 rooms, and all rooms have filthy slippers. I felt that it was an insult to leave these slippers for their guests to use. Dinner food was actually quite good. But our dinner table was covered with ants due to leftover crumbs of food from lunch, i guess. Chairs were not cleaned either. Minor issue since we have plenty of "wet wipes". Breakfasts were standard American Breakfasts or/and Rice Porridge. On the plus side, there's a desk top computer in the room for your usage and wifi is free. Bottled waters are complimentary as well. Room is spacious with a view of Padi Fields. Bed is decent with clean ironed sheets. And they have these resident cats that follow you up and down. Not to worry, they are quite obedient. The staffs and lady boss were polite and friendly. In my opinion, if more effort and thoughtfulness have gone into this place, it has the potential to become a real resort.…
We have been here a few times before moving to the area. For Thai standards it's a bit expensive but for westerners it's cheap. The views -overlooking the planes from the hill are really great and the food is fine. The rooms are actually cottages and good Wifi is included. The restaurant is good but breakfast is not so great: better go to one of the shops at the market if you can handle a "different" breakfast.
We arrived at the resort and the staff, at the last minute, decided to change our rooms because the ones they originally booked us for were right next to the restaurant and they said it could get loud at night (karaoke). I thought this was pretty considerate. Then we went to our rooms. The room is pretty minimum, nothing too fancy but we were only staying one night we didn't need anything luxurious. However, upon closer inspection, I noticed how dirty it was. The bathroom was not cleaned before I arrived (used soap still in shower, and sink had dirt in it). I kept hearing some weird animal noise, and realized that there are two geckos also staying in my room. I think they have been here a while because there were gecko droppings all over the perimeter of the room, including the bed headboard. Also, there is a large dragonfly in my room. I've been trying to free it into the open air for the past hour, but so far I've been unsuccessful. The dirty room might be because of the quick change, but I'm not impressed.…
