Rayaburi resort is on Srinakarin Dam and some far from Kanchanaburi downtown. Room of Lake view is clean but old fashion. Bathroom has shower and hair dryer. Good view and natural feel. Food is good and warming staffs.

Clean, comfortable, and a little above basic room. I stayed in a room with direct lake access which was great. Breakfast was below average and staff friendliness was inconsistent. There were however, some standout staff. Khun Foe is a lovely waiter who speaks German. Khun Yut, I think he is a manager, was also friendly, helpful and always around the resort. I gave this resort a "Very Good" because of the river access and the above listed outstanding staff.

A the tip of the lake, has nice rooms, of different standards, some of them on the water, with different prices., Not much to do there and the high costs of the accommodation are not justified. Has a restaurant with simple Thai dishes. The breakfast selection is quite poor.

My wife's company held a trip to this resort during the past weekend. On arrival, we had lunch pre-ordered, all was nice. We then wanted some ice-cream, but as previous reviewed, cash-payment only. We then enjoyed the afternoon in the lake with kayak, swimming and pedaling (an extra 100B/hr) No other sports activities. In the evening, there was a sunset water tour, on board there were soft drinks and snacks. Dinner and breakfast was also nice, I suppose dinner was pre-ordered as well. Maybe we went there during weekends, a large variety of dishes were offered. The only issue we had was the water coming into our room from the outside pool, the staff was very helpful to dry up the floors and fixed the pool

We arrived late in the afternoon after 5pm on July 20th 2017. We had driven 2 hours thru severe torrential rain and we were very tired.

Island Room Worn out delapadated room, out dated inferior room over looking the lake. The owners obviously take no pride or have any respect for good paying client that you mislead with false and unjust advertising... All the walls were scratched and marked/dented front door and bathroom door. Nothing had been done to make the room presentable and nice nor redecorated were it was OBVIOUSLY AND DESPERATELY NEEDED...THE floor boards THROUGHOUT were badly cracked and dangerous lifting up when we stepped upon them with caps were I could clearly see the ocean. They were UNLEVELED And I TRIPPED on one protruding from the floor, every time you walked on the floor boards they creaked and lifted up...When there was a slight wave outside the whole of the hut moves hahaha what a joke I would not even give you Baht 400 for this rubbish accommodation. The bathroom was in just a Bad condition the heater boiler in the shower has been BANNED in certain countries as it is DANGEROUS. The shelf were 2 glasses stood for cleaning your teeth were surrounded by dust and dirt.

No face or hand towels no hand soap in the bathroom a flurry of ants constantly on the floors. No coffee or tea. Old style TV from the 1990's with only 10 channels and no English channels. No pressure with the Bide spray "what's the point waste of time...Workers start grinding and banging at 7.30am. The breakfast was atrocious tactless bland ham and hotdogs Yuk! The omelette was OK. My Thai wife tried your Thai breakfast and she said that it was horrible. So many flies around our table whilst eating disgusting landing on our food and in our coffee the melon and orange drink (obviously packet mix, were, over ladened with SUGAR so sweet and vile. Nothing like the Photos advertised including the dress attire of your reception staff that were wearing jeans and t-shirts

If your going to charge Baht 2,000 a night you should have the decency to update your poor condition rooms that are falling apart I am totally disgusted with what I given for my money and wasting my time trouble petrol and maintenance on my car.

The hotel offers spectacular view of the lake. We stayed at the "raft" room and it overlooked to the hugh calm lake. There were not too many people and to my surprise not a lot of hotels/resorts nearby. So we basically felt as if it was private. There were available life vests if you're interested in dipping in the water. There were visible signs as to when you should/should not jump into the water for safety reasons. There were available canoes and "duck boat" as leisure time activities. And they're free! The room condition was good with 2+1 bed in our villa but they of course would charge for the extra "1" person. The price was for 2 people. We didn't have problem with hot water or toilet but there were visible "bugs" but that didn't bother us so much.

WiFi is supposedly available but its signal strength is next to non-existent and 3G reception wasn't the best, so don't plan on working during your weekend. On the bright side this could be the opportunity for you to actually experience the view and not your phone screen.

The hotel includes a small coffee shop and a small mini mart. The coffee shop offers a reasonable price but the mini mart could be a bit expensive. No, there were no 7-11 nearby. Dinner was ok - average taste - but again a bit expensive. Breakfast at the same place was ok too. Not bad but not too exciting. The young guy who served our table (dinner) was very well mannered and diligent despite some shortcomings of the restaurants over all service.

Overall it's not a luxury hotel, nor is it a budget hotel. It could be a good choice if you're looking for a reasonably priced accommodation with a few activities and nice /relaxing view

My family and I happened on this resort and decided to stay because of the location and views. We booked into two Island suites (larger rooms floating in the lake) beside each other.
Pluses: Scenery and surroundings are superb. Location is Tranquil and relaxing. Some water activities to take part in. Aircon was very good. Staff were pleasant. There is a little shop and coffee shop near to reception.
Minuses: Price is crazy expensive for the quality and level of service. We paid 3,300 THB per room which will get an excellent 4 star hotel nearby. They only took cash - which we just had enough of to check in - no ATM within several tens of km. WiFi is unusable. Gas heating for the shower didn't work In one room (and leaked gas)- room 508. The hair dryer in the same room burned out during use. Not suitable for old people or children as steep steps to all rooms. There is a home made lift extending half way down to the lake rooms, but this is a safety hazard. Restaurant closes at 8pm.
To sum up: rooms are poor, the quality and service doesn't match the cost. The location is fantastic. Waking up to dawn over the lake is very special. You are paying for the view and location not the hotel. We enjoyed because of the experience, scenery and setting, not the hotel.

The hotel is not so bad for Thai standards. It is perfectly well located on the lake but far from everything thing. The rooms are large with great view on the lake. Our room had a balcony as most of the rooms. You will have to manage to live with all type of insects going around, so if it is a problem for you, stop at a 7/11 before and buy some insects repellant. The restaurant serves some good Thai food, in fact better than expected but I had on this one a very low expectation so it is a positive surprise. The breakfast buffet is good with plenty of choices. The lake itself is nice and you can use the kayaks of the hotel. Haven't seen any alternative in the region.

I stayed in the Raya Island room type which is floating in the water.

Pros:
Pros of this resort are the facilities and location.
Good thing about this resort is that you can bring your little puppy with you.
The location of this resort is very good. Great view with fresh air. It is connected to the Srinakarin Dam where you can kayaking (free), swimming and fishing in front of your room.
Comparing with other nearby hotel (hotel on the dam), this resort is far more comfortable. The cleanliness is acceptable; there is hot water, and air-condition.
Bed quality is good.

Cons:
Cons of this resort are services.
The staffs are not professional. I called to reserve a table for 10 people for our dinner. The restaurant gave us 8 seats. I told them we have 10 people, they brought 2 extra seats. It turns out that the table was too small for us. I asked for a bigger table or to extend our table; the waiter told us that they don't have more extended table (I can see that there are a lot of vacant table in the restaurant). My husband has to talk to the hotel manager, so that, we can extend our table.
It takes 2 hours to get our dinner because they try to cook for the guests with the package first. (I called to order the food at 5.30pm and told them that we'll be there at 7pm; we arrived at 6.45pm but we get our meal at 7.30pm.) So, stay with the package if you don't want to wait for your meal.
The breakfast was very poor...the quality of food was bad. The choices are limited.
A lot of ants.
There are holes on the floor where insects can come in your room. Before I go to bed, I found a cockroach and a spider on my bed.
Low qualilty soap and shampoo.

Suggestion:
This resort is NOT recommended for the elderly person and it is not wheelchair accessible. You have to climb long and high stairs (about 4 stories building) back and forth between your room and the front desk (where the restaurant and parking lot are located).
The road to the resort is pretty hard to drive and there' s not street light at night. And the resort is pretty far from town. Thus, plan your trip wisely.

I would not recommend this resort to my friends if the service is not improved.
