Our 4-night stay at Briarcliffe Inn was a really special time, a first outing after months of seclusion during the pandemic. In the heat-wave weather throughout eastern Canada, we enjoyed lovely breakfasts, an extremely clean and comfortable room and bed, and generous, caring hospitality of owners Carrie and Malcolm. The gardens are beautiful, and we loved watching their small farm-residents (pigs & chickens), as well as Henry. We hope to come back for another stay sometime.
It is a difficult time for all Air B&Bs right now, but Carrie and Malcolm really stepped up and welcomed our family at a difficult time for us. Carrie’s garden was the prettiest I have seen plus the homemade sausages and farm fresh eggs from their land was also delicious. Vera and Allan
Highly recommended! Carrie and Malcolm are friendly, interesting, and very accommodating hosts who work hard to ensure that their guests are well-cared for. They have an extensive knowledge of the area and offer welcomed advice on interesting activities. The breakfasts are outstanding and they tailor the meals around the guests’ preferences. We were in a group of six with diverse tastes and our meals were personalized and outstanding—and different every day! The ingredients are fresh, locally grown and delicious. The inn is charming and cozy and the rooms are lovingly decorated and comfortable. Our group spent five nights in August and we all slept so well. The parlor for guests offered a delightful space to relax when we returned home in the evenings. The gardens are exquisite and the surrounding area is lovely. A brief walk takes you to the shoreline for a beautiful view. Pigs and chickens and Henry, an extremely sweet dog, add to the idyllic atmosphere. The hospitality offered by Carrie and Malcolm was first-rate: We were treated like family and departed having made two new friends.…
My husband and I and our dog Emma spent a wonderful and relaxing 5 nights at the beautiful Briarcliffe Inn in the Bedeque area of PEI. After a short drive down a red dirt road, we arrived at the lovely inn which is surrounded by gardens. Our room was charmingly decorated and so comfortable with a wonderful view of the fields of the neighboring farm. Our innkeepers Carrie and Malcolm really made us feel at home and were very helpful with advice on local things to see and places to eat. Their dog Henry is adorable and adds to the charm of the inn. Carrie provided amazing full breakfasts every morning which were prepared with local ingredients. I loved the synergy the inn has with the adjoining pig farm allowing some pigs to be raised free range on some of the inn’s surrounding property. It was fun to observe the pigs as we came and went on our daily outings. Finally, I have to mention how cozy and peaceful of a place this inn is. My husband and I went touring everyday, but I could have been just as happy relaxing with a book near the inn’s lovely gardens. …
I stayed at the Briarcliffe Inn with my husband and our 9 month old. Carrie and Malcom were very accommodating - providing us with a crib, high chair and baby friendly breakfast items. They were also a wealth of information about the island. The inn is beautiful and the pigs and chickens are adorable and their presence adds to an already charming atmosphere. The location of the inn is perfect for exploring the island; it’s very close to the Seacow head lighthouse which has a beautiful lookout. Finally (and for me, most importantly) the food was fantastic. Breakfast was fresh and home made, featuring local products and rotates daily. We would definitely visit again!
