It is a 3 star category family hotel built in a traditional island style, quietly situated in its own beautiful gardens only 50 meters from the sea, in the village of Skala. All rooms were renovated in 2007, they have balconies with either sea or mountain view, private facilities with bath or shower with hair-dryer, telephone, satellite TV, mini-bar and air-condition.There is a spacious lounge, Bar with Satellite TV and a Breakfast room, all with terraces for those who prefer the open air. A swimming pool & pool-bar in the garden completes the beauty of the environment.Skala Hotel has a recently built conference room with a capacity of 400 seats in theater’s arrangement. Wi Fi internet access is provided in all hotel areas. Laundry service, Babysitting service, Massage treatments on request.
Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travellers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
The Skala Patmos hotel is located only a 5 minute walk from the public ferry docks. The hotel is accessed through a bougenvillia arch. You arrive in a quiet courtyard and any noise is left behind. Rooms have accessible balconies, a restful peaceful time can be had a the salt water pool, complete with swim up bar. I think it is the best hotel in Patmos. Breakfasts are enjoyed on the vine covered patio and in a dappled shade. Staff friendly and helpful. The attraction of Skala town is its kId back nature, many restaurants and shops for tourists. Island is small and there is no need to hike about. A ten minute walk across the island has you touching the western Aegean side of the island from the eastern Aegean waterside.

There are so many reasons to stay here-- extensive breakfast bar, shiny clean, several common gathering areas (pool, portico, indoor/outdoor cafe, lounge and library), immediate access to nightlife, shops, restaurants, beaches, transportation options.
But the attention to guest experience and individual touches was the signature feature of my experience there. Staff would not let me pay for printing they did for me. I was offered tea when doing some late night work alone in the lounge. Ideas for things I might enjoy doing specific to my interests that were offered, staff were really observant.

We recharge our batteries every year at the Hotel Skala on Patmos. We have found the hotel to be a perfect platform to enjoy all the the island has to offer. The hotel's ideal location, near the lively port yet stepped back through a peaceful bougainvilla garden with sea water pool, is a key to enjoy the real Patmos paradise of blue sky and transparent water, white roofs and endless beaches with spectacular sunsets. Add a wide choice of good food and activities ranging from its legendary monastery to its late night clubs up the hill at Chora. We find the Skala Hotel's friendly and efficientg staff to be a special plus , from the first day welcome throughout the stay. Rooms are comfortable, and impeccably clean. The daily breakfast buffet is generous and a true delight to start the day on the calm terrace. We stayed for two weeks this summer and we aim to add a third week next year!

We have been coming to the Hotel Skala in Patmos for ten years and are always amazed by the consistent level of quality in everything it offers to assure a wonderfu stay. Of course, the location is perfect, a stone's throw from the port and all of its restaurants and boutiques, yet stepped back in a quiet setting that is made beautiful by the cascades of purple bougainvilla, green fig and other trees. They surround a delightful salt water pool and sun terrace. Across is the breakfast terrace where you can enjoy a generous hot and cold buffet with both international and Greek specialties as you look up the hill at the monastery and trendy neighborhood of Hora at its top. The new management is committed to maintaining the same high level of quality and satisfaction as we saw for ourselves during our two week stay. In fact, we will reserve for three weeks next year!

Lovely small hotel in quiet area of Skala. Lovely room with balcony, a little disappointed with our view but we had a wonderful stay non the less. Great location, flat walk from ferry, lovely friendly & helpful staff. Breakfasts were to a high standard & we particularly liked the homemade orange cake. Hotel was very clean in all areas. Pool area with a few sun beds & chairs also a pool bar, we didn’t use it but it never looked crowded or full. Short flat stroll into Skala where there are lovely bars, tavernas & shops. The hotel also had a cat feeding station which we contributed to one night. Beautiful flowers & lovely view of monastery from breakfast terrace. Would definitely stay again if we returned to Patmos.

We return to Skala Hotel every year, as it provides 1st class service, quality rooms and amenities and amazing breakfasts.
With Covid this year, the Hotel went out of their way to ensure there were hand sanitizers at the entrance, reception, by the lifts and in bathrooms. All staff wore faces masks and guests were asked to do the same in public areas inside the hotel.
Extra measures were put in place at reception and the breakfast area, with plastic screens in place. Extra staff were brought in to serve up a buffet breakfast behind screens, so guests could still see and chose from the huge range of local food, and then handed their choices on trays by staff wearing face masks and gloves.
The dining room area inside and out was sanitised regularly, as were the pool lounger covers, and all cleaning staff wore masks and gloves.
As usual at Skala, the cleanliness of the hotel was outstanding, which has always been the case despite Covid measures this year.
It was wonderful to feel safe and healthy whilst enjoying such a relaxing holiday, again on Patmos with friendlly, helpful staff, beautifully maintained gardens and pool area, and the wonderful bar man Dimitris.
Thank you again Skala Hotel. The perfect holiday :)

Another wonderful stay at Skala Hotel. The hotel is in a great location by the harbour in Skala with a huge choice of cafes and restaurants nearby, yet tucked away off the main road by walking through a flower-filled archway, making it a peaceful location. The staff are always incredibly caring, friendly and helpful and the hotel is spotlessly clean. The breakfast offering is really wide-ranging using fresh Greek produce. Cannot rate this hotel highly enough after 7 stays here.

A separate hotel next to the harbor with easy access. It may be three stars but definitely worth more. It shines everywhere and its garden is very well-kept.The reception always serves with pleasure. They can also give you all the information you need.

Hotel Skala redefines hospitality. The management and the entire staff will go above and beyond to make your stay one that you will not forget. We loved our experience and we are grateful to your staff for all that they did! The hotel is located in the best area in Skala, an easy walk to restaurants shops and the ferry. The rooms are immaculate, there is also a mini fridge with bottled water that is replenished every day. The housekeepers are cheerful and helpful and brought me extra hangers with a smile. The breakfast buffet is hearty and a lovely way to start the day. Options for gluten-free and vegan diets as well. The property is lovely with flowers and the pool and pool bar are a great added amenity. Bartender Dimitirus made our stay unforgettable! This hotel is a gem.

I recommend Skala hotel. The location is excellent, in a walking distance to harbour, market and restaurants but it has a garden and courtyard where it is quiet and peaceful. The staff is wonderfully helpful with everything. Great pool. Breakfast is from a selfservice bar, and has a wide range of dishes. It can be eaten on an outside terrace. COVID regulations in hotel (gloves at breakfast, masks) are strictly followed
