Detailed Reviews
Set in a quiet location in Scala by sunset beach and away from the "upmarket" shops and restaurants, but yet within easy walking distance to the port and numerous restaurants.
The gardens within the property are an oasis to sit and relax or take your breakfast. Our room was a triple room on the ground floor and was larger than expected. It had a small fridge but no hairdryer even though booking.com lists it on their facilities. The room had a small patio area with two comfy chairs and a table. The bathroom was quite small but more than adequate. The rooms were cleaned everyday with fresh sheets and towels being provided.
Breakfast was provided and included in the price of the room. You could eat in the breakfast room, garden, or take it back to your own patio or balcony. The breakfast was excellent especially for the cost of the room. It included tea or coffee, juice or water, yoghurt and two types of cereal, the freshest of bread which was still warm from the bakery, eggs either boiled fried or omlette, cheese and ham, croissants, tomato, melon, cake cookies, honey jam or chocolate paste.
Michael was the friendliest host and very helpful. The hotel is a couple of minutes from sunset beach where we saw some beautiful sunsets, it's not really a beach though, more a rocky bay with scrubland.
We found three local tavernas which were more traditionally Greek with good food and prices, I will review.
Don't miss out visiting Chora, but go early before it gets crowded. There is a local bus with a flat rate of 1.80 euro per trip. The bus stop is just by the port. The route is from Scala to Chora then on to Grikos, back to Scala and then on to Kampos and back to Scala, same bus.
If we returned to Patmos I would definitely stay here with Michael and his team again.

We stayed at Sunset July 15-25
Its location was ideal, it was 5 minutes (on foot) from the pedestrian street in Skala.
The rooms are neat, clean, with daily change of sheets/towels.
Michalis is polite and always smiling, willing to help with any question.
We will definitely prefer it on our next visit to the island.
Minos-Nasa.

The communal areas of the hotel could do with a little bit of an update but there is no smell of damp or mould anywhere (I don’t know what the previous reviews are referring too). The hotel is spotless! Our room was lovely. Quaint, with a nice balcony and stunning view. The beds were comfy and the en-suite was fine.
The room was cleaned everyday and we had fresh sheets and towels which was very welcome but wholly unnecessary for a hotel like this.
Breakfast is fine but I’d recommend getting down at the start as the buffet is not topped up which is a shame. The WiFi is only available in the communal areas which is annoying as well. The WiFi was also fine and worked perfectly.
The host is very affable but isn’t really around when you need him. What’s the point of the bar if there’s no one there?
Patmos is very small and Sunset is a great spot from which to base your stay.

The accommodation is clean. It is generally well located, with easy access to the centre of Skala and the port. It is also very close to some very nice tavernas and restaurants. The hotel tariff, was also inclusive of a hearty breakfast and accordingly represented excellent value for money.
In addition, we were most impressed by the hospitality which was extended to us. This included, phoning for taxi information and providing recommendations for nice beach visits: which did not disappoint!
Mike, the manager, is a very pleasant and capable host. He is ably assisted by a cheerful lady (I did not get her name).
We will definitely pay a return visit!

Just a few minutes walk from the busy and sophisticated Skala harbour...you find yourself in pure Nature, with the sea roaring a few steps away: this is not a beach for swimming but one where you contemplate the sunset and listen to the noise of the pebbles in the rolling waves.
The hotel itself is rather basic, yet with the manager so friendly and hospitable one does not really mind. The garden is an oasis of mature trees and plants.

Room Tip: I suppose the rooms on the first floor rather than the ground floor must be better.

A small familiarly hotel just 10 minutes walk from the harbour. It's very clean and serves breakfast. The manager/staff is very friendly and help you with everything you need. The rooms facing the see have the largest terasses. I have stayed there many times and will be back again this summer.
