Had the entire place to ourselves was just incredible! Such a warm welcome and great hosts. Brockley is so special it felt like a week's holiday in just one night. The food cooked by Chaxi was without doubt our best meal in Tasmania. Can't wait to stay again!

We had self contained facilities in the old dairy with a wood stove. Chaxi provided an excellent 3 course Spanish meal, matched with Milton Rose, & Julian produced a great breakfast to set us up for the day. Honour bar provides a wide range of drinks. Tons of history & interesting trees around the house. Go for a walk along...

Brockley is an absolute must for couples travelling in Tasmania. The estate seamlessly combines old-world charm with modern amenities, and the hosts are friendly and helpful. The grounds are both beautiful and wild - a walk up the old convict road to the suspension bridge is a definite must. My partner and I enjoyed a wonderful day and night in...

A recent birthday surprise weekend became a wonderful experience from the moment we stepped through the front door. Our host Julian greeted us warmly & we were made to feel welcome immediately. A tour of the homestead highlighted a beautifully restored heritage homestead with all modern facilities. Fires were laid & rooms heated in preparation for guests arrival. We were...

From the moment we arrived we felt welcome and relaxed. The rooms were great. The whole house comfortable and inviting. The smell of home baked bread was delightful and the taste even better. The paella for dinner was fantastic and the breakfast lived up to expectation as well. We wish we had booked a longer stay as the location was...

We recently spent a night at Brockley Estate. What a treat it was! Julian & Chaxi treated us so well. Fires were lit, rooms were warmed and we were left to sit and soak up the ambiance. We had booked to have dinner, which was a Spanish style meal cooked by Chaxi. A culinary delight. From the arrival of the...

The beautiful old building, with the picturesque landscape of bush was a warming welcome as we arrived. Thats was once we got past the wondering cows on the road on the way down. After meeting the owner and getting a tour of the place, settle in to a home like surrounding, the room we finished with the attention to details...

A group of us - 6 adults and 4 kids - stayed here after completing the Three Capes walk. After four days of no showers and basic meals, Brockley Estate was a haven. We were a little late for dinner (sorry Chaxi) but nonetheless it was a delicious meal. Great wine list too. We stayed in the Marble Bedchamber and...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Time spent at Brockley Estate is an experience entirely different from what you expect in conventional so-called ‘colonial’ accommodation. The 170-year-old sandstone and convict brick homestead blends seamlessly into its traditional Tasmanian landscape surroundings, with generous verandahs, ancient English trees and hawthorn hedges stretching down to the wide Prosser River.Inside, mellow antique furniture, textiles, pictures and ceramics exude an atmosphere of effortless elegance and good taste that would be almost impossible to replicate in a purely commercial context. With food and wine of a quality rarely encountered in a private house anywhere in Australia, this is genuine colonial country life as it really was and, one hopes, always will be if you know where to look. Now that you are indeed in the know, why not come and share it with us? ... more   less
