Loved the small touches like mosquito coils provided. Screen on Windows and doors for letting lovely fresh air in at night. Lots of forest noises makes for interesting sleep. But that is what makes it special. Location great. Walk to Cow Bay Hotel for reasonable meals.

As usual when holidaying, we selected our accommodation online. The first thing that attracted us to this Retreat was the swimming pool, which was surrounded by lush tropical growth. Unfortunately, we never got around to using it, due to the weather and lack of time! Our room was very comfortable, with a Queen bed, ceiling fan, microwave, toaster and jug.... More

We stayed at this motel having booked through booking.com a couple of months ago. Glad we did. The private and quiet entrance to this property sets the tone and although offering older style of facilities, our room was spotlessly clean and pool was lovely. Rooms are away from road and very quiet. Restaurant not open when we stayed but helpful... More

This place was amazing, tucked right into beautiful rainforest. We saw many birds and wildlife while staying here. The rooms are comfortable and have everything you would need. The pool is amazing and the host was very friendly. We will stay again.

Looked at several places, but as a family of 5 we often have problems finding good, affordable places to stay. This place ticked all the boxes for us. Clean, in good repair , fab pool, central location. What topped it all was the superb manager who helped us plan our visit to make the most of our time, giving us... More

Looked at other places and decided to stay here. Lovely surroundings, quiet area and very friendly, helpful and informative staff. Room was well equipped. Wi-fi only available at reception which is not ideal - especially as we were in prime mosquito time. We were aware that the room did not have a/c but was assured that the breeze from the... More

I stayed here one night with my friend, we were looking to experience the tropical rainforest, and this hotel did not disappoint! What a magical place... Beds were comfortable, and rooms were spacious. No WiFi or mobile reception, but this just added to the peacefulness and relaxation. Beautiful secluded location, and the manager was so helpful and accommodating. We even... More

We drove from Trinity beach to Cape Tribulation, I had considered staying at Daintree Rainforest retreat after reading reviews but we thought we would continue on and see what Cape Trib was like first. We checked out a few places there and weren't impressed with their price or quality. We decided to head back to Cow Bay and take a... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Daintree Rainforest Retreat is a small family owned motel. It sits nestled in the forest surrounded by towering trees and lush gardens. While we do not have a restaurant we do offer a covered BBQ area with its own sitting area and a fully equipped and comfortable communal kitchen together with 2 further sitting/dining areas. The Cow Bay Hotel is a 2 minute walk and while it is very close, it can be neither seen nor heard from the motel. Our rooms are cooled by ceiling fans and guests can further escape the tropical heat with a dip in our palm fringed swimming pool. We look forward to seeing you. ... more   less
