We have camped at Woodhill for several years. The location is perfect, within walking distance of Cromer and Sheringham or there is a bus stop right outside the park. This has worked well for us as it saves detaching our awning from the camper to drive away for days out.

Also in the past this has been a neat and tidy site. No noisy groups and lovely clean bathroom facilities.

However we are surprised how the site have handled Covid. They had not reduced there capacity and the site was busier than I have ever seen it with no extra spacing between pitches. Also the toilets and showers were not being cleaned often enough. At a time when cleanliness is more important than ever it felt that the toilets were less clean than normal!

I would say however that the staff in the shop/reception were lovely and very helpful.

Booked a last minute break for three nights, having read the reviews and looked at the photos on website was really looking forward to it. However on arrival my expectations were somewhat dashed. Checking in was straight forward but was not offered site plan to show location of pitch just general directions of where to find it. I had paid extra for a Serviced Premium Pitch, I arrived at my pitch which was right at the back of the site beside the main road and with a public footpath which ran right through the camp right in front of our caravan. I felt this was a bit of a security issue as people who were not guests on the site were constantly wandering through. I even resorted to parking my car right up to the entrance of my awning whenever we went out for a walk.
The pitch was very large but the only services was the electric hook up no waste or water, I may be wrong but every other site I have ever been on a serviced pitch has electric, waste and water not here though so I paid an extra £10 for an extra few meters of grass.
There is only about 12 showers in the camp spread between three different blocks, The middle block which they call the bbq block were old and not very clean and the water was luke warm at best. The ones at the main reception are newly refurbished and a lot better but a long walk from where we were pitched.
There is very little lighting on the site except near reception so walking at night time to use toilets is a little hazardous unless you have a a torch.

Overall it is not the worst site we have been to but I don't think it would be my first choice if visiting Cromer again. There are cheaper sites with far better facilities.

Woodhill is a large family campsite, with decent facilities and a great coastal location, near to the beach. The pop-up food vans in the evenings were very convenient for dinner.

The shop is well stocked with things you might need when camping (and a good selection of alcoholic beverages).

The nearest beach access is a very steep 'path' down through the cliffs - good fun, or a 15 minute walk along the cliff top coast path to West Runton. Lovely beach and the coast path is really beautiful, hard to beat.

Unfortunately I found there were some down sides to staying here

It was a bit disappointing that the water pressure in the newer toilet/shower block was very low, it just dribbled out of the taps, there were signs apologising saying a plumber was coming out, but we were there for a week and no plumber came during that time. Also the sinks were not the cleanest as there was lots of hair in and around them which is quite off-putting, although it's not really the campsite's fault people don't clean up after themselves, more regular cleaning would help.

I found it to be quite a noisy site at night, we didn't really get a good night's sleep during our stay.

If you get a pitch near the road it is quite noisy as its a busy road, especially at night and early morning so this did disturb our sleep/relaxation.

There was also quite a lot of noise at night from other campers when we stayed, the site rules state 'keep noise to a minimum after 10pm' but this doesn't seem to be enforced so meant poor night's rest.

All things considered, I wouldn't stay here again.

Lovely site, sea view one way and country the other.
Lovely walk to Sheringham along the coastal path, not too hard going (I did it in flip flops on a mega hot day!). Short walk to East Runton and then about a mile along road or beach to Cromer. Beware of the beach, you will look an idiot in bare feet as it's pebbly haha.
Bus stop just outside camp, bus every 20 mins and bus drivers really friendly and helpful. Caught train from Cromer to Wroxham, £6 return so cheaper than driving and parking!
Facilities were ace, we were right by the 'old' shower block which I've seen slated but they were clean and had hot powerful showers, hardly anyone in them as well so bonus! Better than some of the 'best' showers I've seen on other campsites, really don't know what people are complaining about!
Staff onsite are friendly and helpful, shop is well stocked. They mobile takeaway van is a great idea, although we didn't use it.
I'd definitely go back to this site :)

This is a special campsite for me as it's the same site that my parents took me to as a child.
We visited the site in 2020 but with Covid restrictions it was a very different experience to that in 2021. This year there were pop up food vans, football training for kids (Monday to Friday) and guided walks.
As last year the toilets were cleaned on a daily basis and this year there were more sanitising stations which gave you some extra reassurance.
The only SLIGHT issue (if any) is that dependent what time of the day you took a shower they could have low pressure and cold, but isn't that all part of the fun of camping?
We have a very big tent and found that the premium pitches are more than adequate.
The staff in the shop were very helpful as our 5 year old boy would go to the shop by himself to get some milk to which the staff were very obliging to make him welcome whilst he gained some confidence to do things that he can't do at home.
We would recommend this site to our friends and family.

This was our second visit to Woodhill Park within one year. We stayed on a fully serviced hard standing premium pitch on both occasions. On arrival both times our first impressions were of disappointment due to the VERY overgrown grass around the pitch. We have then had to ask reception before setting up our awning to have our grass cut. On our second visit the person who came to cut the grass, instead of collecting it in the storage container he had on the mower just left it all over the grass...Why? All week whenever we walked on the grass it stuck to our shoes and therefore it was a struggle to keep out of our awning. All the other pitches nearby did not get mowed all week and no one cut the grass between changeovers. Woodhill Park is in a good position near the sea with beautiful views and if the grass around the hard standing pitches were to be mowed on changeovers before arrival, would provide a lovely first impression!

We always book with Sykes and have always been blown away by the standard of the property's and friendliness of the owners.
Woodhill in cottingham was indeed an impressive house. There were 8 of us and all the bedrooms were en suit. We chose this property for the ground floor accommodation as my mum is disabled, now while it's not actually advertised as such there is a ramp outside the outside door to allow access for a wheelchair and the en suite has a lovely walk in shower. However... there are no hand rails which would be very useful and the bed was extremely low, this lead to some minor problems. The curtain tie backs were also very unsuitable, razor Shap and at head height for small children. The living room was deff not big enough for 8 people and infact there were only 7 chairs. There's no way you could light the log burner with that many people or furniture in such a small room! The dining room was great and there's a very lovely large kitchen. Sadly the cleanliness in these to rooms was severely lacking!!!! Inches of dirty dust round the skirting and rusty baking trays and bread bin in the kitchen. The oven deff hadn't been cleaned in a while either! The washing machine left a bit to be desired and then it broke down and couldn't be fixed while we were there, not a problem but it was filthy. The carpet on the landing was very very stained and also one of the double mattresses. The shower head in my room was filthy!! Having said all that we, as a family had a good time. The area is lovely and the beaches along the Yorkshire coast are beautiful. I think woodhill could just do with a mega deep clean and some new bits and pieces purchased from the very local b and m.
Personally we wouldn't stay there again but will deff be back to Yorkshire! Oh it's also very cold I the house, most of the radiators don't seem to work and neither did the outside security lights 🙃
Come on Sykes, keep a check on ur properties!!

This is my third return visit as an adult having visited numerous times and created fantastic memories as a child.

We drove but I have previously traveled by train from Norwich. There is a bus stop just outside the main entrance which I’ve never had a need to use.

We visited this time as family of four (6yr and 10yr) on a XL grass pitch with electric hook up. The pitch is on a slope but that’s the lay of the land and not to a degree that it’s an issue. The site is timeless and largely unchanged in my memory. The big asset is the spectacular views and beautiful location, the site is very simple and traditional which we want, like and will continue to return for.

Beach access is a circa 20 minute walk to either East or West Runton. It made clear that it is unsafe to access the beach from the immediate cliff tops not to mention the damage this does - long term erosion.

It is a park that takes its environmental impact seriously with various free events (we enjoyed the bird cliff top walk and moth catching). Kids will unfortunately be kids but some litter picking attention to the play park might be wise more often.

Areas for improvement:
The wifi was useless so don’t expect to rely on it. Vodaphone 4G sufficed for a Teams work call during our stay.
Whilst the reception shower block is the most modern and pleasant it isn’t in line with similar parks and not overly practical in use. All other toilet/shower blocks really need a complete rebuild as whilst hot water is generally plentiful and they have been refurbished and are clean they will put a lot of people off and it may us in the near future (warning @Woodhill).

Loads of staff including overnight security are based on site and visible throughout the day.
This is a quiet family park which is observed without needing to be enforced.

A great park which will remain so with a rebuild of the shower/toilet blocks.

Everything was fabulous about our experience at Woodhill Park. From reservation to leaving.
The site was clean, safe and well organised. ALL the staff were friendly, professional and helpful, from the staff in reception, the cleaners, security and the off-duty staff on site. Their humour and friendly smiles were much appreciated.
The kids play park was fabulous and the free classes (we did the guided moth waqlk, beachcombing and wildlife walk) were organised and informative. The adults were as enthralled as the kids.
The location was also key, a 10 minute walk to the beach and a 5-10 minute drive to Cromer.
We have already booked to go back next year and, having spoken to other campers while we were there, so will they.

Just returned from a lovely weekend away with my partner and daughter. We usually use our tent when away but saw an offer on the new Cromer holiday homes and decided to give them a try. We were really impressed, they were nicely decorated and modern, had everything you needed inside i.e. oven , microwave , fridge, cutlery, soap, smart TV, towels, utensils, oven glove/sponge, etc and a nice touch of a small bottle of milk, cookies & apple juice which my daughter was very pleased about. It also had a seating area outside and a bbq area. We have been to the site previously and the park on site has been great from my daughter being 1 to now 6. There was 3 different areas for different ages groups which is great. There is a laundrette, food vans, toilet and showers and a shop/reception area selling ice creams, drinks, condiments, breakfast items, alcohol, sweets, toys, camping gear etc which is very handy. There is a mini golf, playing field and goal posts for football. It is convinently near Cromer which is a 5 minute drive away and also nearby to Sheringham. Staff friendly and helpful. We will definitely return again and hire the holiday homes again 😃
