I was celebrating my birthday in Herning and choosed to stay at the Scandic Hotel Regina. Even when I just booked an ordinary room for two nights, it looked like I was secretly upgraded to a little suite. Thank you, Scandic Regina :) The staff is very attentive. Rooms was clean and the food in the restaurant (at breakfast) was rich and tasty. I can perhaps whine about that I didn't had a birthday dannebrog-flag at breakfast ;)
Booked via their website Checkin: Was okay, efficient and friendly Checkout. Was okay, efficient and friendly Location: Center of Herning Parking; Directly in the front of the hotel Rooms: Nice standard rooms, clean, typical Scandic style Gym: Standard gym downstairs Breakfast: Excellent buffet, lots of choices. good quality Dinner: Good food, even some craft beers Summary: Good business hotel.
I checked in as part of a delegation visiting for a conference. At check in I was told that I was assigned a special room on the top floor with a view. It turned out the room was on the main street with a view over the freight rail-yard......noisy, noisy, noisy.....all night and all day....and, of our entire delegation, it was the smallest room (same price however as the others). Parking is a problem. On all four nights of my stay there was no parking available in the very congested hotel parking lot. The next closest parking lot is in the underground open parking garage behind the hotel under the bus terminal for the train station ......no really where you want to park at night! As for the room, it could use some freshening up. The carpet was quite used with dark spots and some deep scuff/cut marks, etc. Not sure if the diesel smell in the room was from the street outside or something on the carpet maybe or from the strong cleaning products used in the bathroom. Upon check in, the receptionist who was helping me had to cough; of course that was concerning during the coronavirus outbreak. She just turned her head away from me to cough to the side, not covering her mouth. Needless to say, the first think I did when getting to my room was to wash my hands. The best part of this hotel is the sumptuous breakfast - with its variety of foods (even a gluten free area) you will not go hungry in the mornings......for the low quality of the room and lack of parking, this hotel is not a good value and the next time our delegation is in Herning, we will be looking elsewhere for a place to overnight.…
No link between Price, room and service. I paid 2000 DKK for one night... i forfordelt my tooghbrush and had to paid 25 for one. Crazyness. It was very poor and the bathroom was v’er oldfashion with a smell from the drain
I stayed for 4 nights and I can perfectly share a realistic feedback about all services at Scandic Hotel. Staff is very nice, very polite but very junior; they don’t see the needs from a traveler and they’re not very proactive when it comes to a good standard of service; and would like to explain myself: 1. I did the check in at 8.30pm but seems that for management this is very late and restaurant was almost closing... ( please note that if you work in hotel business, you like it or not, you should adapt your service to international schedules, specially during dates when an international event is taking place in your area). F&B team managed my request of late dinner and I asked just for some bread ( on top of my main dish), the waiter came to me with a tasty but small piece of bread therefore I requested another piece if bread (nothing special)and the answer was: I cannot, the kitchen is closed.... really? 2. Cleaning: Seems that if you want housekeeping to clean you room ( or cha he towels )you should first ask to front desk and no later than a certain hour in the evening... ( didn’t know I was staying in a hostal). BTW: first day, they forgot to clean my room, I had to go down to reception and they gave me the towels at reception desk.... again... not very up to standards... 3. Sunday evening restaurant is closed so, if you are staying there... no food .... and honestly, this area is not a place with a good variety of restaurants or ambience at all ( streets are very dark and cold). 4. Quality of towels in the room is very low. 5. Check in process was poor: no info about timings, no info about where was my room and I still don’t have my invoice after check out. Guys, you are very polite and smiling people which is absolutely brilliant but don’t forget that you need to be focus on some standards to fulfill the expectation of a guests who has to pay 1000€ for 4 nights BB in a place where you have to ask at reception for housekeeping service. This is not acceptable. That said, value for money is poor, for this price you can be in any capital of Europe in a 4 even 5 starts hotel with stunning service and knowledge about hospitality. Food ( when restaurant was open) was excellent. Breakfast is poor and no variety of products at all; tables are not ready with forks or napkins and you have to do it by yourself. My feedback is negative mainly because the price they charge versus the service you get in return is ridiculous ... value for money.... Maybe you don’t have to pay that much out of exhibition dates but still, if you ask for money; deliver service... I’ll not stay again unless revenue management decides to decrease rates.…
