Such a pleasant small hotel located in the middle of the vineyards. Quiet place with beautiful views and a very nice swimming pool. The staff was great and friendly. The room was very good. Having such a nice breakfast outside in the swimming pool yard was a pleasure. The restaurant nearby in the same property - although not being part of the hotel - was very good but, if you are not in the mood for this kind of dinner - "chef" style - you need to take your car and drive for a while, as the hotel is in the middle of (almost) nowhere.
What a wonderful stay it was. Great staff from beginning till the end. Very quiet and peaceful. The visit at the winery was great with a memorable wine tasting.Food was amazing. Cannot wait to comeback.
This was my first trip to Portugal and the Douro Region, and it was wonderful to get out of the crowded touristly areas and stay at Casa Das Pipas. The hotel is very classically and beautifully decorated with gorgeous grounds. The breakfast included homemade yogurts and jams, and you could request made to order eggs. We also enjoyed a fabulous dinner at the restaurant on the grounds. I highly recommend staying here!
Very scenic and tranquil. Excellent food at the restaurant. The wine tasting we participated in was a bit of a let down. Only 2 wines were provided. We took the train up and down and it was a great way to go. Taxi from the station came to just 15 Euros.
I took a party of 14 to stay at the hotel and it was a fantastic choice. When we arrived their was a delightful lady on reception to tell us our "bags were in our rooms, go and change and enjoy the pool and I will come and explain everything at the pool while you relax". The pool is idyllic in amongst the vines and the rooms have lovely views over the countryside. We had a tour of the winery which was very interesting and enjoyable. We ate at their restaurant on the open terrace which was so nice and the food was incredible. All in all a beautiful place to stay and relax. I hope to go back again soon.
