We had a wonderful time as a family of four (kids aged 7 and 11). The location is amazing, and so is the venue. Big thanks to everyone who works there, particularly the beach staff (Claudio, Alessandro and Domenico) and the kids club (Serena, Gaia and the whole team). Everything in the resort works well, from the delicious food, to the sports facilities, the pool, the beach, the entertainment for the kids, cleaning, you name it. We also often saw the resort manager walking around, checking that everything is fine and talking to guests. Something to keep in mind, most of the guests are Italian, followed by French ones. That means that most staff speak these two languages, and most information is provided in Italian and French. I am Italian, but my wife and kids speak English. We met some English-speaking guests, and it made a big difference, especially for the kids. To be clear, you can get by in English, but it's not the main language you will hear there. Still, I'd go back in a heartbeat. In fact, this was our second time there. Saluti a tutto lo staff dall'Australiano.

So - here we are in Sicily with our 2 year old son. He is a bit of a challenge to please in regards of the food.. this is stressing us out … but every time we’re coming to the hotel buffet there is a chef named Giuseppe who’s always taking good care of him. Cooking on demand what our son is fancying and always making sure we have what we need. This hotel is full of amenities and the staff is very nice but having a person like Giuseppe who’s looking after us is making the difference! For this I highly recommend the buffet and the hotel - Just as a precision I am really hard to please

Had a fantastic holiday, resort had everything you could want. Gardens and public areas immaculate, room very comfortable modern and clean. Bar and Restaurant staff were excellent, thanks to the central bar team, who were very helpful and always smiling. Animation team worked endless hours, very professional. Even though the hotel is aimed at Italian and French speakers, 95% of the staff were more than happy to speak a little English, only issue was the excursions were only available in French or the Italian and therefore we didn't get to see much of wonderful Sicily on this trip.
Special thanks to Antoinella (central bar) Raul and Max (animation and tennis coach) and Julia from reception who took time to explain how everything worked.
Two points to consider, restaurant was a bit hectic, would benefit from allocating the same table at all meal times especially with the current Covid situation.
Checkin could be better and time taken to explain the resort/map/facilities.
Great value for money, would love to return in 2022.

Please bear in mind for this review, we are not the sort of couple that likes to be looked after and do not have high expectations when it comes to accommodation at hotels & resorts. This review is purely for others that are thinking to stay here to stay at Mangias Pollinas Resort for any longer than 1 night, and not to make the same mistake we did on our trip to Cefalu.

From arriving, the staff were unbothered & left you feeling like your questions were silly, the place is quite vast with minimal sign posting to where rooms, dining & restraunts are. At check in you are given a map and a really brief explanation where your room is and the rest is there for you to figure out.

Whilst this is fine, we found it difficult & could be left so simple with a few sign posts around and more willing staff to be on hand to help.

For a 4 star complex, it’s very out dated, but kept with high prices for drinks & food on site. The food isn’t good quality, nor the drinks - but you are left with a high price to pay still. For reference, a spirit & mixer was $18 and a very basic salad served in a plastic bowl & cutlery was $12.

The only restaurant on site was a pizza restraunt (everything else was closed) if we knew this prior we just would of not of booked here, a small note on their booking system would go a treat to leave guests not
disappointed when arriving, as they promote they have a sushi, meat & Italian area too? you are left no other options close by, as the town is a 20 minute drive away.

I hope this helps!

False advertising. We paid full price to visit this hotel and when we arrived all the restaurants and bars were closed and there was a huge shortage of staff which meant service was terrible. Even when we arrived, reception boasted about the range of wonderful restaurants and bars available but a couple hours later we realised this was a lie.

All that was available for lunch was the pool bar that offered terrible paninis and two salads that were completely inedible.

We had to eat pizza for all three of our nights there as there was nothing else available. The staff were so stressed that it took 30 minutes to even get a menu - and when we went to order they told us they'd run out of most the food and drink.

I've tried to get in contact with Mangia's Pollina for a while for a refund and have had no response.

They shouldn't be able to charge full price but privide a limited service.

Mangia's Pollina Resort Sicily.....the previous reviews are all so very true, one of our worst holidays. Reception staff unhelpful when we arrived, one of their main jobs should welcome people to familiarise with what is available at the resort. The main restaurant was the only one open, no sports facilities, open air swimming pool too cold. no one ever swimming, no transport available to local places no local bus service, the resort is too remote, a long way from anywhere. Hotel taxi service very expensive, used a cheaper taxi from the nearest village. It is very advisable for travel agents not to sell holidays in April to Mangia's Pollina. The resort does not properly open until May. When we arrived more people working in the gardens and resort than guests, one evening three sets of guests eating in the restaurant. The food is never hot just warm at all the meals.....Would we use another Mangia's resort....never

The hotel and ground’s are lovely, amazing views and big complex to walk around and explore,
staff are very attentive and cleanliness is great!!
However I am extremely disappointed with the ‘all inclusive’ staff refuse to fill water bottles up and tell you that they can’t due to the ‘ tap water not being good, so we should buy bottled water instead’ the cocktails they offer on the menu the staff cannot make and service is terrible, long wait times and massive queues.
At meal times you are only allowed water, sparkling or still. There is a wine tap but waiters cover this up halfway through dinner service so you can no longer use it. Food is nice but personally we won’t be coming back.

Dear guest, thank you for sharing your experience with us and for taking the time to write a review. We are really happy that you had a pleasant stay. We are pleased that you appreciated the availability and friendliness of our staff. Their commitment and passion for their work are fundamental to create a welcoming and pleasant atmosphere for our guests. We understand your frustration at the impossibility of filling water bottles. Our priority is the health and safety of our guests, and for this reason we strictly follow current drinking water regulations. Unfortunately, in some areas tap water does not meet the required quality standards. For this reason, at the moment, we cannot offer the possibility of filling water bottles. We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause. His feedback is very important to us and allows us to understand where we can improve. Quality of service is a fundamental value for us. We believe that every guest deserves to live an impeccable and memorable experience at our property. We stayed for 1 week. Which was the 1st week of Oct. Weather was glorious, hotel pool fantastic just all this hotel has going for it!

Our room although nice and comfy was not the sea view upgrade we paid for. Yes we could see the sea through a doorway only which, also over looked the busy noisy restaurant. No balcony what so ever!

Staff at the hotel where not friendly helpful or welcoming as you would expect at any hotel whatever the rating.

This hotel smacked of people running it for the first time. No idea about customer service or experience.

The hotel has 5 restaurants when we stayed only the grill and pizza place open plus Buffet restaurant which I would not wish on anyone. The service and food in the grill was not good.

Such a shame as the hotel though vast is nice beautiful views of the sea from the pool.

I really feel aggrieved at having to spent €40 in taxis each night to eat decent food at the local village.

The hotel should run a free boat or bus into Brucili that way guests feel they are cared for and hotel supports local business.

We will not be returning.

I spent a few days with kids and friends. Overall it’s been a good experience. Location is great with stunning views, buffet is well run and offers a wide variety of food. On the negative side is the quality of the rooms (very small Windows, no desks) poor Wi-Fi connections (you need to go to lobby area if you want a stable connection and even at not so high speed). I would have also appreciated more activities for kids. Particularly exciting was to start playing Padel with Davide. He is a great coach and its been a pleasure to learn from him!

This is my first ever review, I normally never return to a place that I don't like and I stop there, however Mangia's Pollina is worse than that.
My wife and I booked three night there starting from July 19th 2023.
As everyone knows, Catania Airport was on fire and many flights were cancelled including ours.
The car hire and Airmalta gave us a full refund however Mangia's Pollina even refused to change our dates. Not because they were full up, they just refused.
Be warned, stay away from this place, they are only after your money. Customers have no value to them.
