The owner, John, is such a lovely man. We have stayed at The Chaise guest house twice now, and John has never failed to welcome us. He has always been flexible with out requests, and nothing is too much effort. For example, our daughter needs a gluten free diet and he had endless amounts of gluten free options for her....

My sister and I stayed at The Chaise on 2nd and 3rd of September. We found the host, John, to be very friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived until we left. We were in Room 9, which was spacious, clean and quiet with white bedlinen, white towels, a supply of toiletries with plenty of tea/coffee available. John was...

Arrived to a very warm welcome (the owner is super friendly and excellent in every way. We were due a room with a shared bathroom, but were kindly given room 6 on the first floor, with sea view and en-suite at no extra cost. The view out towards the pier and lighthouse was great! Now, the place is dated /...

We booked last minute to go and see the Sunderland airshow and when we arrived discovered that we were lucky as ours had been the last room available. Everything about our stay was lovely, the hotelier John was so helpful and you can tell he really cares about his guests. We were given advice and suggestions about the airshow and...

Roker in Sunderland is by the sea and just delightful as we watched surfers sailers swimmers paddle boarders, aerobatics , ships coming in and out, in the harbour, from our room window. Don't...

My wife and I were in Sunderland visiting family and had never been in the area before. Based on reviews I had seen and the location of the guest house, we decided this would be a great place to try. The prices we found to be extremely reasonable based on what we were used to paying in the U.S. We...

Stayed in this guest house because of its good location near the Stadium of Light. It overlooks the waterfront which is very nice. You get a big English breakfast when you stay there. John is very helpful and the room was spacious and clean. There is a lovely Italian restaurant close by. There is also a nice park in the...
