From the moment we stepped into the hotel we were welcomed by friendly staff. Maurice at the front desk was really helpful and didn’t just hand us the key, but showed us to our room.
The room was huge! A huge bed, sofa, large bathroom and lots of cupboard space and a chest of drawers. The amenities were great, Dolce Gusto coffee maker, tea, “proper” hairdryer, ironing board and iron, toiletries, shoe shine and sewing kit and a safe. The room was very clean and the bed comfy with extra pillows.
Breakfast the next day was a pleasant surprise. I expected it to be a continental breakfast but there was plenty of hot food too and a chef on hand to cook your eggs the way you like them. There was also pastries, cakes, fruit, yoghurt, cereal, toast and waffles. Waiting staff were very friendly and efficient. I noticed they also had highchairs for small children.
We visited in February with temperatures of around 16 degrees, so not warm enough to swim. We did go and have a look at the rooftop pool which looked clean and well maintained. The view from the roof is spectacular.
The location of the hotel is very central in St Julians but far enough away from bars and nightclubs for it not to be noisy. We visited off season which I’m glad about. I think St Julians is more a hub of nightclubs and bars for young party goers, so we wouldn’t have enjoyed it in the summer months. I think Malta would be wonderful in the summer but St Julians would be for 18-25 yr olds.
We did the hop on hop off bus tour, a great way to see the island. Tickets were bought at the hotel. We also did a cruise round the ports which took one and a half hours and was brilliant. The transport system is really good and buses are frequent.
Malta is definitely worth visiting. English is widely spoken and everyone is friendly.

We have stayed at this hotel a few times and have never been disappointed. They appear to be dealing with Covid issues in a sensible and understated way. Masks are worn when moving around inside the hotel, breakfast is done with pre-booked time slots and is served rather than self service and surfaces are cleaned regularly.
An enjoyable stay.

Just completed a 5 night stay at the Argento and very satisfied with the experience.
Comfortable rooms and the hotel is very attentive to covid-19 threats with regular cleaning and availability of sanitising facilities.
The roof top pool and sun bathing area was much appreciated.

Stayed here for a long weekend in August.

The hotel itself is "OK" .

Our room was quite small, the balcony faced another set of balconies so didn't give us much privacy

The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was really nice and the room was clean and well maintained (although as mentioned it was small)

The breakfast was reasonable and the staff worked hard under COVID restrictions

The rooftop pool and sunbathing area had plenty of loungers but not much atmosphere

We paid quite a lot for our room and I guess it's because of the area but didn't feel like it was great value for money.... Although didn't spend much time in the hotel.

This area is VERY noisy on a night and even though I'm quite a deep sleeper I struggled with the noise each night (although that's not the hotels fault)

Overall.... An OK hotel with a decent breakfast buffet but a bit over priced. I'd stayed at a hotel in Sliema a couple of weeks before for a weekend which was half the price so would probably go back there instead

We really enjoyed our stay at Argento Hotel - everything was perfect!

With the rooftop pool it is perfect for an early swim in the morning to start the day.
The included vast breakfast buffet, where they also fry you a pancake, waffels, perfectly done poached eggs etc. on request, was amazing. This on request items are in addition to what they have immediately visible (like English breakfast, toast, cooled cheese, yoghurt, croissant, cake, watermelon, etc. ) is stackable, and comes without any additional cost.
In times of Covid they also took great care to avoid too many people in one breakfast room, so upon arrival you will be asked or told what time you want/can have breakfast (they have 3 time slots). We could switch it after our first breakfast for the next days by letting the reception know what time works best for us without issues, too.

The reception and in general all the staff were really helpful! For example, we arrived there and noticed we forgot to bring an adapter .. when we asked the receptionist he lend us two for free (I mean there was 5euro deposit for each, but we got that back when it is returned ). Also one time I asked if I could have them a sandwich packed up for our day trip to Comino ( as it seemed that nothing would be there) and they did =) That was super nice of them. In general we felt very welcome and relaxed the whole time.

The air conditioning was also working fine. Bathroom and room in general was very clean, really nice&modern looking and spacious.
Even though it is in the middle of San Giljan it was not noisy in our room, and we had lots of opportunities to grab a drink or sth. to eat without walking too much if we didnt feel like it. ATM and kiosks close by.. and a bus stop just down the street.
If we ever go to Malta again, we will definitely stay in this hotel again!

Small tip on the side - If you stay in Malta best get yourself a bus card for unlimited travel for 21 euro at the ATM kiosk just down the street, it made discovering the whole of Malta easier and so much more relaxed for us, as we did not need to pay every time we used the bus with small (or big) change.. just tap the card, done.

Thanks for reading all that, it got very long =D
Regards, Jenny&Lawin

Located up a side street, it is a quiet hotel though maybe more so on the higher floors. It has been refurbished, the lobby area having a nice sitting area, a small bar beside it. The restaurant is on the main floor, the breakfast fare being good, including salmon. Staff were pleasant. Check-in was smooth, just a signature required. The room was of ample size. A big bed awaited me. There is a balcony. There were quality coffee and tea facilities. The bathroom has toiletries [rather than squeeze bottles] with a combined bathtub/shower. There is a desk and chair. Extra blankets were in the wardrobe. Had an early flight but able to get a takeaway meal. The room door opens and closes rather quietly so you do not feel you are disturbing fellow guests. Sliema Tower is a half hour walk away. There is an abundance of restaurants and bars in the area. It is a nice property.

We have stayed at hotel Argento several times now.
The location of the hotel is perfect for us.All the amenities are close by, loads of great restaurants, with the shops near by also, good transport links, with the bus stops going to most parts of the island. The hotel staff are always very friendly and helpful with any questions that you have. We arrived a bit early for check in, but as our rooms were ready, they let us check in, much appreciated! The rooms are a good size, with good facilities, fridge, ironing board, coffee machine and kettle, toiletries in the bathroom, with a safe also. We particularly enjoyed the breakfast, plenty of options for all the family, the staff were always on hard, to offer the waffles, pancakes and omelette’s, from the kitchen, they were very polite and attentive. As the weather was nice, we did go up to the rooftop pool area, which was nice to just relax on, with fantastic views of the bay. A particular mention to the receptionist when we checked out, as our taxi to the airport was running a bit late, he made a few phone calls for us, to put me at ease. Would definitely recommend hotel Argento to anyone wanting to stay in Malta.

A nice small hotel, very close to many restaurants, bars etc and to local bus stops. I was worried it might be too noisy at night but it wasn't as its situated at the top of a side street.

After we settled into our room on the first day, I put the TV on and it was working the next minute it switched off and would not switch on again. Housekeeping happened to be cleaning on our floor and I reported it to them. Within 20 minutes Maintenance came to the room and tested it then took out the TV and said he will bring us a new one which didn't take him very long to sort out I was impressed.

Special mention to some of the reception staff:

Irshad on reception was really helpful and friendly he gave us information on how to get to the beach by bus with a map and even suggested a lovely place to eat and a quieter beach whilst there which we found and really enjoyed. He went the extra mile allowing us to babysit my baby niece for the day who was staying at another hotel close by whilst my sister attended a wedding. On checking out our transfer was a couple of minutes late and he rang up to find our where it was. Then advised us it was on its way and helped us get our suitcases to the van, he really provided excellent customer service during our stay.

Mille on reception - really helpful and friendly checked us in when we arrvived and also checked us out. She advised us which buses to get to Valletta and that the ticket lasts for 2 hours before having to buy a new one.

Byron on reception at night - on taking my niece down to the lobby area to wait for my sister to collect her and try and get her to sleep. He kindly offered to switch off the lights by the bar area as it was only us down there to help her sleep which worked a treat.

Overall we had an excellent stay just be aware October is classed as the start of their winter so the roof top bar was not open but you can order a drink from the lobby bar and they can bring it to you. Our room was cleaned really well daily and the breakfast staff were very welcoming and friendly. Also you can order pancakes at breakfast and they were really yummy.

I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Fabulous friendly staff. Situated up a side road so was very quiet.
My single room was small and had no view (unless you count the bathroom window) and was limited in natural light.
The most comfortable bed which was excellent although bedding appeared to only be changed after about 3 days.
Towels changed daily even though I hung them up to keep them. Towels also slightly small.
Beautifully clean room and very polite housekeeping who gave extra tea/coffee when asked.
Breakfast was excellent, lots of choice from hot and cold, fresh cooked to order eggs, omelette, waffles, pancakes etc. Usual cold meats and cheeses. Fruit could be increased. Lovely local breads. Fresh pastries. I would like to see less packaging such as with yoghurt and tetra pack preserves but what we had was tasty.
Roof bar/pool area was clean. Appropriate bar hours.
The bar by reception had no atmosphere and was not really used. I would suggest opening doors to the Breakfast terrace and playing better music. Maybe some promotions such as 'Happy Hour'.
Staff were all professional and helpful.

The hotel is in a great location for the local bars and restaurants, but is far enough away from the noise. The only downside is there are steps down to reception so be aware if you are travelling with pushchairs etc.
Rooms are clean and tidy with enough space to store clothes. The bathroom has a shower and bath, we found the loo to be rather low to the floor.
Breakfast is def worth having, there was enough choice for everyone, some things such as waffles and pancakes are cooked to order and brought to your table. It was fairly busy when breakfast firsts opens 7.30 and at 9am so if you want a quieter breakfast maybe avoid these times.
A 2 minute walk down the road is a bus stop that goes towards Valletta and other areas of the island, well worth doing as you get to see the island and it's cheap enough to do.

All rooms with balconies overlook the streets surrounding the hotel. Only a handful of superior rooms have a partial seaview...which we do not promote or sell as seaview. Superior rooms have a French balcony which is not a balcony that you can step outside.
