It’s located in such a convenient location (between St Julians and Sliema) and some of the rooms feature an incredible view over Balluta Bay and the homonymous church.
Check my Instagram to see what I mean @giuseppecannavoo.
All the guests have free parking which means no more hassle to find it outside trough the extreme traffic of Malta.
Breakfast was well made, staff was super nice and the Spa much appreciated.
Jamie and Chiara welcomed us during the check in and made us feel like home since the first step.
We had the chance to try out also the Atrio restaurant at the 3rd floor where we had a wonderful dinner and an exclusive service from the waiter Manuel!
With the well equipped 24/7 gym I was able to maintain my workout routine even during my holiday so that was a big plus!
Our room was very clean, very silent and with the perfect temperature inside which made our sleep perfect.
Wifi connection was on point as well.
I am more than satisfied of my overall experience, definitely something to repeat!

My family and I had the pleasure to stay the night at the newly refurbished and rebranded, Marriott. I had stayed at the hotel under the previous brand, Le Meridien, and can say the refurbishments are amazing.
The bedrooms are warm and the beds super comfortable. We would recommend the junior suite for that little extra room, especially if you have a child or two.
The Club Lounge has been moved a few levels above onto a newly constructed floor, which offers superb views of Ballutta Bay and the sea. Tea and coffee are on demand as well as juices and soft drinks throughout the day. The evening canapés were freshly prepared, unlike the deep fried alternatives I’ve had at other Club Lounges, and the alcohol selection was very good, comprising beer, wine and spirits. We decided to have morning breakfast in the main restaurant, Market Place, given the wider variety. The omelette was a big highlight for me as well as the pancakes. The staff were super friendly and always smiled. A great way to wake up in the morning. I could come back for breakfast anytime.
In all, the hotel feels super fresh and decor is very tasteful; the staff were friendly and attentive; the food and beverage experience very positive, especially the breakfast. I will definitely return

The best thing about this hotel is it’s location in Balluta bay right opposite a small, sandy man made beach. It’s great for visiting Spinola Bay, Paceville and easy to get to the nearby Sliema. I had a sea view room overlooking Balluta bay and it was lovely. I had two double beds all to myself so it’s a shame that they don’t do smaller single rooms for solo travellers. The breakfast is nice although the chipolata sausages and the bacon was far too hard for my liking but the rest of the plates of meat and omelette and selection of fruit is very nice. On the downside the room cleaning is awful. They don’t come until the early evening which didn’t bother me too much but I know it will bother most. Lots of other people were complaining about the same thing which, is understandable for the amount you pay for a Marriott and you’d expect better. The rooftop pool was very small and underwhelming and I only dipped in twice in 10 days. If you like a decent pool as a must, then don’t book here. The pool was fairly quiet so no issues getting a lounger and there is a sun deck above where kids aren’t allowed. The staff were lovely especially the lovely Marta who was so friendly and bubbly. I would stay here again just for the location but just wish they had a bigger, nicer more inviting pool. I did hear that there are plans to make one in the future on the ground floor where one of the car parks currently are. That will make it a lot better if it happens.

One of the worst hotel experiences ive ever had. Good location and hotel rooms looked newly refurbished however the air conditioning wouldn’t go any lower than 24 degrees, which was not exactly comfortable to sleep in. We reported this to staff on a few occasions only to be told by the engineer that the lowest we could expect the temperature to reach would be 23 degrees. After speaking to other residents of the hotel we knew this was not true. We asked if we could pay to upgrade to another room so that we would be more comfortable and could enjoy our holiday only to be told that there were no rooms available, even though there were rooms still free if we went on to book them through the website. Eventually after having to complain to the manager they miraculously found a suite that was available for us but we would need to pay an extra fee per day to upgrade which we did. We moved to a junior suite which as standard has access to the m club lounge. What they failed to tell us was that they hadn’t granted us access to the m club (which provides soft drinks and snacks) because we had only paid to upgrade the room itself.
We booked half board for a week however there is only one restaurant available for the evening meal with the same menu of around 3 options each night which got very repetitive! Only options for kids were chicken nuggets, fish fingers or pizza every night. No vegetables for the kids on the menu at all.
Rooms were not turned down regularly or stocked up with water, toiletries and towels. Had to ring or speak to reception on numerous occasions to request these.
No apologies were made for blatant lies that were told about the air conditioning, we were basically just told that’s how it is so deal with it. No apologies for refusing to change us to an alternate room with working air conditioning even though there were obviously other rooms still available. Very disappointing stay and I would not recommend.

I have been a member of Bonvoy (spg) for some years now and spend 30-35 days a year in Hotels mostly in Europe. And the experience i am going to recount is the worse possible scenario worth of the worse hotels in the world.
After an hour of checking in i hear commotion in the corridor of the room and a particular person swearing her head off with constant use of 'f' words against some other persons which i then realised were staff. The brawl persisted for more than 15 minutes between the hotel staff without any care if the rooms were occupied with guests or not. Referring this to the executive reception on the 13th floor, she flatly replied that the matter was being taken care of. Typical response of people wanting to hide.
Do also beware, the hotel's car park is a filthy hole and that the hotel which sports Marriott as brand) is technically not ready, with alot of banging and noises going on.
Please beware of the executive lounge, i was offered this service for free on day 1, on day 2 they charged me heftily and without notice, escorting me down to the reception to make sure i pay the bill before i leave.
There are other hotels in the area that are much more appealing and tested in standard hotelliering than this disaster.
The hotel also avoided to send me the feedback review questionnaire.

We have just finished a nine day stay here and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We have travelled a fair bit and
think this beautifully refurbished hotel is well managed and that it ticks a lot of boxes. The staff are very professional and seem to come from all corners of the globe.
The location is superb-right on Balluta Bay with a wide promenade stretching to Sliema with lots of excellent restaurants, places to swim and bus stops right outside. The hotel takes Covid precautions very seriously & our room was immaculately prepared for our stay.- worth the hour's wait gir check in. We would definitely return here.
However there were a few issues which I think Alex and his staff could address to improve the guests' experience. There didn't seem to be enough housekeeping staff at times to service all the rooms as frequently as guests would like. One evening a guy arrived to clean our room at 8.45pm which wax too late for both him & us! Despite this the hotel is immaculate in all areas.
The breakfast is fine with the dining room being well managed by pleasant, helpful staff. The coffee & tea could be improved with being hotter. We ate in the Atrio restaurant and the food was delicious.
Our deluxe room with seaview and balcony was spacious, well designed.
The rooftop pool area isn't huge but there was never a problem getting a socially distanced bed and bar staff were very efficient and friendly. Given that we are still coping with a global pandemic, IMO this hotel does the important things correctly.

Quick summary: A newly refurbish hotel with great facilities and staff, perched above Balluta beach, what’s not to like ? Read on for more…
This hotel has been fully refurbished to a high modern style and opened only to shut down two weeks after due to the Covid pandemic, so essentially the hotel is new. The decor is modern and minimalist but you have everything you would need and expect from a Marriott.
We arrived a little early for check in and the reception staff offered us a room upgrade to Deluxe if we could wait an hour. We agreed and they brought refreshments for us free. The room was large with a king size bed bath shower and separate WC with all of the usual toiletries and robes. There were two balconies one facing directly on to Balluta beach and the ocean and one running down the side of the room. We could have played 5 aside football on this it was so big.
We took the half board option which the hotel had just started. It has a restricted menu and its situated in the lobby restaurant and outdoor terrace. The food was really tasty and with a huge selection of beer, wines, spirits and cocktails it was excellent. The staff were also really attentive and wanted to make sure everything was perfect. However the hotel is looking to improve and offer more options in different eateries.
One evening Alex the General Manager came round to meet guests and get some feedback which was a nice touch.
One small drawback at the moment is that the only outdoor pool is the roof top one. Places are limited so it did get busy at times. However, fear not ! The hotel is currently constructing a new large pool complex adjacent to the hotel and will be connected via a tunnel and walkway. This is due to complete at the end of the year and will suit all ages and be a welcome addition. I understand the rooftop pool will then become adult only or connected to the M Lounge above it.
The M Lounge is available to non Marriott members for a daily payment and is available 24 hours a day with drinks, food and cocktails. We have used this in other Marriotts and it’s usually well worth the extra.
There is also a spa complex and indoor pool and gym. So if you are into fitness you’re covered.
Overall an excellent hotel with friendly and attentive staff which will be further improved when the new pool complex is opened.

Pretty disappointed and annoyed at our stay this week in the Marriot in Malta. My partner and I have stayed in many Marriotts over the world and this does not in any way meet the standards. The staff everywhere apart from the breakfast buffet are not very helpful at all. And treat guests nothing like 5* guests. Over the phone they are rude and while speaking to some they walk away while you are still trying to ask them something.
Wow and the room cleanliness is appalling! Every day we came back to our room after 6pm and the room hadn’t been turned over. We had to repeatedly phone and ask them to clean the room. And sit out on the balcony and wait for them to do this even though everyday we asked them to go in and clean in the afternoon while we were out. When the room did finally get cleaned it was dirty, dusty and rubbish still
Left. There was streaks on mirror and areas under the bed and in corners hadn’t been touched in months by the looks of things. Nothing was tidied up or neatened and no dusting or hoovering was done. This is not what we expect AT ALL in the 4 star hotel never mind in a 5****. Do not recommend this hotel. They really don’t seem to care about their guests. And we shouldn’t have to ask over and over for basic things like the room being cleaned, fresh water and soap etc.
The view from the room was also absolutely terrible.

A fantastic experience at a beautiful hotel. All staff was more than accomodating from prior to booking to finish, catering to dietary requirements and other concerns.
The afternoon tea itself was beautifully presented and delicious, and the location it was served in was absolutely gorgeous, both terrace and restaurant.
It was truly refreshing to visit a place which pays attention to detail without needing to be reminded - the staff were very well aware of the dietary requirements and no reminder had to be made, and they even presented something special after taking note that it was a birthday celebration. Cannot recommend enough!

From the moment we arrived at this hotel to the moment we left, the staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was great! Absolutely one of the best services which we have received in any Marriott ever! The focus of this hotel set by the manager (Alex) is to ensure guests are taken care of and this really shows in how each employee treats the guest. This was our first time in Malta and we felt the Maltese great hospitality in this hotel from its international staff. The concierges (Mario and Jordan) were excellent in providing local information and where to go and what to see.
The hotel is newly remolded. The room we stayed in for 5 days was very modern and airy. Location is 20 min away from the airport by car. The location is close to the action and tons of restaurants and bar within short walking distance of the hotel. The area of the hotel is busy and lots of traffic but the rooms are equipped with double pain glass with 2 series of doors so we could hardly hear anything once we closed both sets of glass doors. We rented a car and free parking was provided to us in the multi-level parking next to the hotel. We only had breakfast at the hotel and that was fine (mostly western choices with a couple of Maltese pastries). they have a salad at breakfast too. They offer a buffet dinner on Sat and then on Sun morning but we missed both due to taking tours.
Overall, an excellent stay and highly recommend this hotel for staying in Malta.
Many thanks to the staff Georgia, Alex, Chris, Ankit, Anna, Jayson, Jordan, Mario and all the others beyond the scenes who worked hard to make our stay a memorable one.
