I stayed at Le Meridien for 5 days in February 2018 and everything was perfect.
The hotel is clean and modern and the rooms elegant: I had a free upgrade to an executive room (really appreciated) and the view over Balluta Bay was stunning, especially...More
This was my third visit to Le Meridian and yet again I enjoyed my stay. As a solo female traveller I find the hotel and the surrounding areas safe, relaxing and super friendly.
The rooms are a great size, clean and have all the facilities...More
From the minute I arrived I was impressed with everything about this hotel. The staff are friendly and efficient. The rooms are spacious and clean. The breakfast has a large selection of different foods, some healthy, some not quite so healthy, but all very tasty....More
We booked a room with a few days notice during the low season for just the weekend. We live in Malta but wanted to take use of the pool with the kids and order some room service from bed.

The hotel itself allows kids but we hardly saw any while we were there. Certainly not overrun. I wouldn't say locally there were huge numbers of kids hanging around, there are quite a few teenagers/early 20s crowds more towards pacevile and St Julian's bay but not so much around Balluta.
The weather in Malta is basicaly hot and dry all year. Going March-May is slightly cooler (low 20s) and there's more greenery about. Summer can hit 40.
There aren't a huge number of sandy beaches in Malta so if sunbathing is what you're after you may be better suited to the rooftop pool and terrace of the hotel itself. If you're into watersports there is a watersports company at the bay, just in front of the Mount St Carmel church and they'll organise parasailing, jetskis etc for you- don't worry about associated noise though as this all happens round at St Julian's bay and you get a (free) speedboat round when your shot is due.
I'd recommend this hotel and this area of Malta generally.
