Gorgeous walking areas, great to take your mind off all your worries and to take in nature. The hotel, restaurant and bar are all surrounded and within nature. Pool area leads on from bar. Great relaxing experience whether you are staying at the resort, or just there for a visit.
My daughter and I return to this heavenly resort regularly and it never disappoints. The service, the food, the beauty ... the peace. When life allows we retreat to Byron On Byron to relax, indulge and let nature restore the soul. Top marks every time. See you again soon.
Simply amazing. This was my 4th time visiting and the best. The addition of bikes to cycle along the quiet Tallows Beach was so much fun. Forest restaurant whilst pricey for dinner is incredible. Breakfast at $35 is great value. The room was large, and comfortable, tucked away with the forest view. All round the service was so good. Location is a winner and we loved every moment.
We booked this based on the branding as a relaxing retreat. The setting is lovely and the hotel is very nice. However I would say that this hotel is more orientated to families with young children. The pool area is not very relaxing with screaming children and families taking up multiple sun beds at different locations around the pool. So if you are a couple looking for a relaxing retreat, I would suggest elsewhere.
The setting and pool are stunning, accommodation is starting to look a bit tired but they're probably regrouping post-covid and it's still really nicely done. However, the food was shocking! By shocking I honestly mean terrible, there wasn't one thing that I couldn't have made ten times better, and for the prices you're paying that's unforgivable.
After travel plans changed I booked this last minute as many other hotels were already booked. I was surprised to discover this is a party hotel with many groups in their 20's choosing to stay at the hotel to party to all hours of the night rather than hitting the Byron streets. This isn't a quiet and tranquil hotel I was expecting ( I should have done my research) I was lured by the facilities, setting and pool but this will not be enough to stay again as the rowdy crowd is really not for me. Room is very spacious with all you need and the outlook is lovely.
I just returned from a very disappointing 4 nights here. The plates in the room had dirt on them, the cushions on the couch stank and when we complained they removed them and didn’t replace them. The bath robes stank like they haven’t been washed in a long time and the room cupboard and kitchen cupboards stank when you opened them. I complained and got a $90 credit but we will never return. Beware before booking the only good aspect about this resort are the restaurants and pool.
Revisiting our old special place. Environment lovely, (jacuzzi not working properly, some of the nozzles broken requiring repair), staff lovely, restaurant not so much. We were celebrating our 46th wedding anniversary; the only acknowledgement was 4 chocolates in our room. The person taking our restaurant booking knew, however on arrival 25th Aug. at the 'famous restaurant' nothing', we were shoved in the least esthetic table, and waited an hour and twenty minutes for our food. Our lovely waitress attempted to follow up. Our main of seafood pasta arrived topped with an overdone king prawn still in its shell head and all. Our waitress seeing the issue brought a bowl for the shell and a lemon finger bowl to save the situation. Unfortunately the prawn was not easily peeled therefore went into the bowl. My pasta undercooked (Definitely not al dente), the pasta at the bottom of my husbands plate was cold (obviously served on a cold bowl). Worst meal ever. When our lovely waitress asked if we would like dessert our reply....was No thank you "we are afraid to be further disappointed". So we left. The "metre de" oblivious. We were not made aware of the shuttle into town !! Sadly won't be returning!…
Went to the restaurant on site for a lovely dinner with family. I ordered a mocktail as I’m 6 months pregnant and the other guests ordered a bottle of wine. However when the bill arrived I realised I’d been charged for a cocktail. When I get questioned this I was advised it was a cocktail I was obviously quiet distressed this had happened and had finished the whole drink. I do appreciate the honesty from the staff when they advised me it had alcohol. I was offered a 15% discount from the total bill but still had to pay for the cocktail. So in reality the total discount received was about $30. We left feeling pretty shaken and obviously concerned about the health of my baby after drinking. The food was very tasty and the service in general was okay but wouldn’t risk returning for dinner again.…
Crystalbrook (along with the beauty of Byron Bay) provided the R&R my wife and I were needing in spades. A shout out to both Benjamin & Jørgen who made our dinner experiences just that little bit special. We stayed in a Treetops Luxe Suite and found it wonderfully quiet and made use of the Microwave, Cooktop, Toaster & Washer/Dryer. And took the short walk a number of times to the expanse of Tallow Beach.
