We were having a few days away and so had driven to West Midlands Safari Park which is not far away and rather than having a long journey to our next stay we decided to stay here for 1 night as it was about half way from safari park and where we wanted to go next and had had a long drive to safari park from our home anyway. The covid measures that they had in place were good, plenty of sanitizers and signs reminding people etc and there was a one way system around the hotel, so we went around from reception one way to our room and then went round to come back a different way. The room was very nice and had a juliette balcony overlooking the car park but it was quite and nice to be able to open patio doors. The restaurant was not open for evening meals unfortunately so we were unable to try this. The breakfast was a self serve for cereal and coissants and fruit and yoghurt and tea/coffee was brought to you in a teapot. The cooked breakfast was served to you when you went up and asked for what you wanted. You had to wear a mask when not seated in the restaurant and someone was ticking people off and reminding them to sanitize their hands and make sure they wore their masks when not seated. It was a nice hotel and staff were friendly and helpful.

Stayed in this Holiday Inn as it was near to the Joe Joe Jim's venue for a gig and other hotels were fully booked.

From the moment we entered the Hotel, we had a good welcome. Liane (I think) was very helpful and we'd booked an accessible room. This was quite a distance down the corridors. All corridors were clean, if in need of updating. Our room was near the main door but no noise from that for the evening.

Room was clean, if in need of updating, but comfortable.. The air conditioning wasn't working so we had to have the windows opened, which meant noise all night from the motorway (this hotel isn't far from the M5), but nothing the hotel can do about that.

Plenty of teas and coffee sachets available with milk and there was a fridge provided in the cupboard if we needed to store our own milk and tonic water. No bottled water provided, but didn't mind about that.

Another criticism was the table on which the tea and coffee making facilities were kept. This table wobbled as it must've had a loose base and made using the kettle quite challenging. My husband also used the shower but ended up slipping on the bathroom floor, I hope that the hotel will put in non slip flooring once they get around to updating the rooms.

The breakfast was quite good. Plenty of options available and fresh as well. The decor in the restaurant part looked quite modern and the staff were attentive.

Overall, our stay was quite pleasant. We may use the hotel again if we have another gig in Cofton Hacket.

Positives- Friendly staff. We got a refurbished room. Nice and clean room with very fresh decor. All power points have USB points. No need to bring chargers just cables. Free guest wifi. Fridge and safe in the room. Access to pool, spa and sauna suite included in room rates. Bar food is excellent, perhaps a little too pricey. Clean towels daily. Blue badge parking at front door but only 3 of them there are another two spaces nearby that could be allocated. No EV charging.

Negatives- Power sockets at the headboard are out of sight and difficult to reach. The toilet requires you to sit 45 degrees for a sit down job. The shower door entrance is very narrow especially for a more portly figure. Phone to room not connected requiring me to lie down on the floor to access the jackpoint. No hair dryer but after reconnecting the phone reception sent one up in 5 mins. Bedside light not working. Breakfast was disappointing. It would appear a coach tour party had raided the place 30 mins previously. Tea spoons would be nice too. Hot food was just warm except for fried eggs which were hot. Cereals and juices were depleted. Air con control hanging off wall and not working. Fan provided. Not informed of this issue. Unable to open window at night due to proximity of M5.

Overall- I would use this group again and hopefully these small but not insignificant matters are dealt with. The rooms for 2 adults are reasonably priced at £63 per night that includes breakfasts and leisure access. Near M5 but not close to either junction 4 or 5.

As a businessman and staying away from home a lot, I have just completed my 11th and final week at the Holiday Inn Bromsgrove.
This hotel was well situated for my business needs and being a loyal Diamond Elite Member of the IHG brand this hotel did not let me down. The hotel did not let me down once. I was made to feel welcome from the start and the staff are amazing. It’s a lovely setting with great restaurant and menu with a pool, gym and spa facilities. The hotel is being refurbished but the new rooms are excellent.
From reception to housekeeping to the restaurant and bar, everyone is attentive and should be congratulated for their kindness, manners and service. This is an opinion shared my partner who has enjoyed a few weekends at this hotel during my time here. If you want to visit the West Midlands, Worcestershire, Stratford and Gloucester this hotel is well
Situated and afforded me/us some
Very pleasant times.
I would like to take this opportunity to mention Nathan who does a great job. He is a credit to IHG. That said everyone is excellent at this hotel. Well done.
The food os great. Breakfast is buffet style and a good choice.
The bar menu vey good and the restaurant exceptional offering a good choice of locally sourced fresh food.
I fully recommend this hotel and I take this opportunity to say thank you.
You should be proud.
Mr Norris

This was the first time I had ventured back into any hotel since all of the Covid nightmare began. But this was an unavoidable stay. I was not disappointed by this hotel at all. The welcome was warm and informative. They are on top of all their hygiene practices with the room being spotless. It was strange to see some things changed such as no tea and coffee automatically in the room. But that is all about minimising any risks. I had room service. The food came quickly and was tasty. Odd to have it delivered in cardboard boxes but again that was about the new systems in place.

I would say many people are going to be nervous like I was. But this hotel helped me feel safe. They have obviously thought through everything that needed to be done, and they have put in place sensible changes. If I have to stay back in this area again I will feel 100% confident about staying at the Holiday Inn Bromsgrove.

Unfortunately we did not enjoy our stay here and are glad that we were only passing through for one night. This hotel is in serious need of an upgrade as everything in the rooms is very dated and old - it sort of had a bit of a motel feel about it. The bathroom door also kept scraping along the ceiling everytime we opened it or closed it. I also think that Covid hasn't helped our experience and although most of their protocols were good, I disapproved of their pick-up breakfast which felt more like a packed lunch than a breakfast (all of the previous hotels we've stayed in have still managed to run a safe and somewhat normal breakfast service). Unfortunately we were also given expired milk with our breakfast to taint the experience further. Overall the biggest issue for me is that, in its current state (and this is only referring to the rooms and the breakfast we received - their other facilities looked good from what we could see), it is not worth the cost of our stay for one night, which I thought was rather high for the service we received.

Booked through booking.com and advertised as having a pool. When checking in was advised the pool is closed until December. Advised breakfast was from 7am at check-in, this was ideal as had to leave at 7.30. Paid an extra £10 each for the 4 of us and when arriving for breakfast was advised it wasn't being served until 7.30. Hopeless. Hotel was unable to refund me as although it was their mistake they said I had to reclaim through booking.com. Left without breakfast and £40 worse off. Let's move onto the room. Walked in and the windows were covered in condensation. The windows were tatty and broken and couldn't be firmly closed so the outside noise and cold draught was coming in all night. The room was freezing and had no heating and the air conditioning wasn't working so unable to get warm. Booked an additional room for my parents too and their air con wouldn't go above 18 degrees. I have slept better in a tent. Tried the shower and it spewed out brown water so got out quick. Receptionist asked how the stay was and I relayed all of the above comments. Was offered an upgrade on my next stay. I live 2 hours away so won't be staying again even if it was free. Terrible experience for my disabled son, elderly parents and I.
If the manager or someone from head office wants to contact me with an apology and explanation for the failure to provide basic amenities it would be welcome. I have pictures if required.

Dear 205garygolf, Thank you for your candid review. We apologize that your recent stay did not meet expectations. We appreciate your comments and will share these with our team so that we can continue to improve our services. I'm sorry that our leisure club is currently closed, we have recently re-opened the hotel and are working hard to be able to reopen the leisure club and pool as soon as possible. Obviously, we are only able to do this when it is safe to do so. We have listed on all booking sites to advise that the club is temporarily closed in effort to prevent any disappointment upon arrival, I'm sorry if this was not clear at the time of booking on this occasion. We will also attempt to reach you to follow up regarding the confusion over breakfast times in effort to resolve this shortly. We do hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future, so that we can provide a better experience. Sincerely, Paul T Business Excellence Manager

Table and banners decorated for us lovely personal touch. Melissa our wonderful waitress was fantastic. Great service and looked after us. Sticky pudding was awesome. Thankyou so much. The pictures say it all - our hotel room was not safe and caused a rip in my shirt and blood on my arm

The hotel room we were allocated had the safety catch broke/snapped at the end - I did not realised this until I left the room and it pierced my t shirt and scratched my arm.

Why would you give a guest a room with a broken safety catch and a sharp metal hazard?

When I raised this to the reception staff they were not helpful or empathetic - this extends to the manager. I was told by the manager, that if I had a receipt for my shirt (who keeps shirt receipts) they would give me a refund. But the refund could not be done until the following week as account have gone home (4pm Friday... lucky them)

I was there for two nights and the lock was never fixed...

I would avoid and would hate to think what would of happened if a child would of caught the lock.

This is my 3d time of visit due to work and I have been disappointed all 3 times.

The reason that I am still coming is due to my company's account with this hotel.

In my first experience the standard room was small and dirty. The bathroom had hair from the previous guest. The second time that I visited, the restaurant food was awful. I ordered a chicken ceasars salad that I had to throw away the chicken as it was hard and it smelled. It seemed as if it was cooked 12 hours ago.

And this is the 3d time, and I chose an executive room so that maybe I have a better luck. To my surprise, I was given a wrong room number, which I entered the room and someone else was sleeping inside! Then I was given the correct one only to see that the shower had hair from the previous guest, and there were some condoms left on the side table.

Especially during this period with covid I expected a thorough cleaning, especially with this new sign "IGH Clean lromise" on the mirror. I am not convinced that the rooms are cleaned thoroughly and the service is very low.

If you have the option to book to another hotel, please do as I do not recommend this one
