From the minute you drive through the gate you are greeted by the most elegant impressive building in stunning grounds. We are key workers and the hotel remained open to us in order to help. Nicola one of the owners greeted us she was so lovely. Nothing was too much trouble, she took us to our suite and showed us where our complimentary tea, coffee and breakfast was located which was very kind. The suite was immaculate and so impressive. Beautiful decor a lovely airy space with a huge bathroom. We were there for two nights and as the weather was so good we were able to enjoy the fabulous garden with our dog. The epitome of our stay was (social distancing of course) to meet John the original owner driving his lawnmower. Such a gentleman well onto his eighties and he and his wife June still going strong. A lovely family a great place to stay.

Stayed at this hotel for three days with work and was blown away. I was in the Garden suite.. which is basically one wing of the hotel! Three rooms in one, walk in to a hallway with a large dressing room to the right, through to a huge room with settes, coffee table and a fantastic luxurious four poster bed, then to the back of the room you enter a huge, traditionally styled bathroom with a huge free standing bath and separate large waterfall shower cubicle set in the wall. The food is outstanding, evey meal I had I was fine dining standard. As for the Staff, they have really made my stay memorable. Mia the duty manager was friendly, helpful, informative, fun to chat to and nothing was a problem, Nick the evening waiter was courteous, polite and again, nice to talk to. 'Lady' Catherine who served breakfasts was a breath of fresh air first thing on a morning and very pleasant. Even the room cleaners went out of their way to make sure you had everything you needed.
The hotel is old, quirky but very well kept to keep the olde world feel and amplify it's history.
Would highly recommend.
Thanyou to ALL the staff for a memorable stay.
Richie.

On arrival at Grafton Manor I was taken in straight away by the beauty of this manor and its grounds. The young man on reception welcomed me warmly and on asking him about the history of the manor proudly explained it to me and showed me around once he’d taken me to my room.
I had a junior suite which was impeccably clean with furniture that is in keeping with the manor.
The bathroom was modern with a free standing bath and separate shower, again impeccably clean.
I had a lazy afternoon walking around the lake and grounds and had a pleasant conversation with the gentleman of the manor.
Breakfast was very good with a good selection, well cooked and presented. I didn’t have dinner but the menu was good with a varied selection.
I would definitely recommend Grafton Manor to anyone who wants to get away from the hustle and bustle of life. 5 star at an affordable price.
I will definitely be back. Thank you
Grafton Manor

My wife and I had the nasty experience of staying at this hotel on our way from Bristol to Birmingham, where my wife works across two different hospitals.

If you want a hotel with period features such as a collapsing ceiling and a 1970's bathroom complete with this lovely tiling, then this is definitely for you. Its like a scene out of a renovation program but the "before" situation.

If you need warm food or indeed any food in the evening then forget it, you are reliant on the local takeaways.

The added bonus is the rude and incompetent staff.

This hotel needs an awful lot of money spending on it and new staff to bring it up to a 1 star rating. My wife and I will not be returning.

We chose the hotel as it made sense geographically for an event, however, it was so much more than a base. The grounds are stunning, absolutely stunning. We stayed in the music room which was huge, a big comfy bed, tasteful decor and the bathroom is the size of most usual hotel rooms on its own! The staff couldn’t be friendlier or more attentive. We ate one night and had breakfast both mornings, all fabulous!

I would hesitate to stay again and will certainly book again when in the area.

Huge suite of rooms for an excellent price. We chose Grafton Manor purely from the photographs and the reviews on TA and booking.com and we were not disappointed. Helpful staff advised us well in advance thst the dining room was closed on the night of our stay and recommended alternate places to eat. If the food at dinner is half as good as the breakfast served I am sure you will be satisfied. We will return!

My partner booked us into Grafton Manor for two nights to celebrate my birthday. Being mid-January the weather was a bit dull for the first day bit that was more than made up for by the wonderful character of this hotel and it's superb staff team. When the sun came out on the final day the beauty of this building and its gardens were clearly evident.

Our room was bright, comfortable and with every amenity you'd need. The bathroom was spacious and super clean with a lovely bath and separate shower. Throughout the room was nicely decorated while being sympathetic the character of this old building.

We dined in the restaurant our first evening and both the food and service were superb. Breakfast was equally nice as was the 'sparkling' afternoon tea we had. being Gluten free I'm used to GF sandwiches being pretty grim but all the GF food served was extremely tasty and beautifully presented.

We'd stay at Grafton Manor again in a heartbeat. In fact we're already planning a return visit.

10 years on, heading back to @grafton.manor to relive one of the happiest days of my life was a blessing (we had our wedding here).

The venue has the vibe of Bridgerton and Jane Eyre. There are some areas that need a bit of tlc but it’s an old characteristic estate, which I love. They have beautiful grounds onsite or around to stretch your legs.

The best part was/is their food. Even now, the quality hasn't changed and if I worked for a food guide starting with M, I would have given them a star.

Service is impeccable and they use seasonal produce. Til this day, I still tease my FIL about how we fought over the cheesecake at the wedding breakfast (FIL ate it). Finally, after ten years I was able to order the cheesecake and not have to share it. (Christmas pudding cheesecake with mulled wine syrup - I really wanted to lick the plate!).

For a night stay (including breakfast) and 3 course dinner (from a la carte menu) with a glass of wine for 2 people was just under £230. To me it was a lovely way to walk down memory lane.

We got married on 8th October 2021, our day was perfect in every way! The night before we celebrated with family and friends with an informal get together, singing in the bar! The day itself was faultless, our guests were wowed by the venue, the rooms and the friendly "nothing is too much rouble" staff. If we could have the day again we would change simply nothing. Stephen, Tim, Scott, Helen and Tyler provided a service second to none.
The highlights of our day were the ceremony in the Chapel and the singing waiters we booked for the wedding breakfast in the parlour.
In the evening we moved to the marque and held one big party! The DJ was just great, definitely knew his audience. A big thank you from Mr and Mrs Rowley :-)

Such friendly and helpful staff. We were gifted a bottle of wine (due to being there for a special occasion) and that was really appreciated. The hotel is impressive and the grounds looked lovely. Would stay again. Thank you for a great stay!

Can we bring a well behaved dog who sleeps in a crate

Pets are not allowed at the Grafton Manor. I have a little Spaniel and he goes everywhere with me, so these policies don’t stop me. However, he does sleep in the car(at ‘no pet places) and loves it. I am sure, just as long as you go armed with appropriate ‘clean up’ kit nobody will object. They are lovely people. Sorry it took so long to respond:)
