This year will be our 5th year staying at the 1661. We are a family of 4 and we seem to be gravitating towards the 1661. Location is great, wonderful views from most, if not all rooms. Buffet breakfast with mimosas and afternoon wine and cheese are plentiful and very tasty; there is something for everyone at the breakfast buffet....

We stayed in the Honora Sullivan room at Dodge Cottage, a part of the 1661 Inn. It was cute and cozy, but most importantly it was clean! The Inn also offered a complimentary breakfast of pancakes, eggs, ham, baked goods and mimosas which was delicious. All of the staff was friendly and attentive- we would definitely stay here again!

This was a great spot. I look forward to returning but book early as they fill up quickly in the summer. The staff is usually Eastern European so they are a little serious but very nice. We had to move rooms while staying, but the second room was better as it was renovated. They are slowly but surely renovating all...

Although it was off-season, I truly enjoyed a recent visit to Block Island, and part of the reason I enjoyed it so much was the 1661 Inn. Located on a bluff overlooking the ocean, it was a beautiful spot to unwind. The staff is very friendly, and every need is met. Wine, cheese, and snacks are served in the afternoon,...

No matter what the weather, the 1661 Inn is always a delight. From the buffet breakfast to the nibble hour on Friday and Saturday afternoons in winter, the inn is a warm central point to visiting Block Island in winter. The quiet calm of the island is refreshing, the walks enervating, just charming in any season. Every room has its...

Most people wouldn't think of Block Island for a January getaway, but it was extraordinary. We flew in on a single engine plane for an overnighter and walked from the airport straight to 1661 Inn. I had talked to Sonja, the winter manager, the day before and she assured me there were plenty of rooms. Well, I believe ALL of...

Block island is a dream in winter. A quiet escape. The 1661 inn is very close to the ferry, close to the beach and to a farm. The island is perfect for hiking. Especially during the winter there is almost no traffic. The inn is charming, the rooms are clean, comfortable and decorated with taste. There is a lot to...

Our room was spacious, with a jet-tub equipped loft, a wrap-around deck and great view of the ocean and sunrise. The Inn also provided a delicious breakfast brunch and evening drinks reception daily. Great experience! We will be back!
