This was our third stay at 1661, each time a different room, and each time equally satisfied. The rooms are spotless, breakfast buffet is over the top, and happy hour is a wonderful touch. I would much rather stay at a comfy bed/breakfast than a hotel/motel, and this always meets our expectations so we have never tried any others on...

My husband and I booked a last minute, 2 night, getaway at The 1661 Inn and it was an excellent choice. The staff was wonderfully hospitable, attentive, and genuinely friendly, and it was obvious that they were very happy working at this establishment. Our room was very clean and spacious and the full ocean view was breathtaking. The champagne breakfast...

This was an excellent stay; my wife and I were on a last minutes business trip. From the moment we called reservations, we met with kindness and consideration. The Reservations Clerk bent over backwards to get us a room where we could stay two nights. We were welcomed nicely after walking up the hill dragging our bags behind us; got...

So happy we chose to stay here ! Great location , clean, comfy, professional friendly staff, great breakfast, nibbles in the afternoon(wine and cheese and veggies and chips - don't miss this !). We saw that there was an empty room with an ocean view so we asked to upgrade and they accommodated us very fairly. What a view !...

I was on Block Island as part of a knitting retreat. I stayed in the Manisses but had breakfast and 1 dinner in the sister hotel the 1661. We ate lunch and had classes in the Manisses. Food was good and plenty of it. The hotel is quite old but well maintained. My room was quite large and very comfortable....

First time visit to Block Island, it was a great experience in April! The 1661 Inn was a delight with beautiful views of the Atlantic Ocean. Our room was very clean, a nice Jacuzzi tub and sun deck along with a very comfortable bed. The other guests at the Inn were all very nice people, you can judge an Inn...

We stayed in 2 newly renovated rooms, Deering and Barker. I was a bit concerned that the "new" feel would take away from the Inn's charm, but we were both pleasantly surprised. The spa tub and the phenomenal new tiled walk-in showers are elegant. The Victorian furnishings are gone, but the new furniture is casual and fits the island theme....

Due to a mix-up, the modest room I had reserved was unavailable. To accommodate my needs, without hesitation, the proprietor upgraded me to the most impressive lodging I have ever experienced. Bravo to Rita and her excellent, thoughtful staff. Well done. PS The included breakfast buffet was superb. Thank you.
