stayed for two days in the Moonstone. As others have mentioned, the view from this room is outstanding, particularly looking out northeast toward the harbor. unfortunately for us, the weather was a bit rainy and very windy, but this didn't ruin our trip. The room was quite comfortable and spacious, although I found the mattress a bit soft for my...

Caretakers, Meg and Josh, are easy going, fun, kind, down to earth, and accommodating. They made me dairy free egg dishes in the morning for my lactose intolerance and hot coffee and tea were always in the living room to keep me going through this wedding weekend. The Avonlea is gorgeous and intimate. The views of the water are spectacular...

Thank you SO much for writing this glowing review, it really made our day. Such a beautiful bride & groom with LOVELY family and friends, we were so happy to have you at Avonlea! AND thank you for leaving the beautiful flowers from the wedding to decorate our parlor - they were so colorful and lasted a really long time!...

We booked a 3-night stay at the end of September, 2014. First of all, we stayed in the Moonstone room, a highly exceptional room with a fantastic, straight-on view of the ocean and soothing sounds of the waves on the shoreline. The inn is clean, though with small common areas. In inclement weather, the inside common space can't accommodate everyone...

Thank you again for your detailed comments on your stay. The breakfasts were varied, there was baked oatmeal, fruits, muffins, and a different egg dish served all three mornings of your stay, frittatas or baked scrambled eggs. These are things that other guests love about staying with us! We got so many compliments this week from other guests that were...

We stayed at the Avonlea Garnet room. It was similar to that of an econolodge room on an interstate highway. room was small, in a basement, horrible bathroom and the bed was like sleeping on a bean bag with marbles in it....At $300 dollars per night, it was highway robbery to say the least

We are so disappointed to hear that your stay failed to meet your expectations. We will surely upgrade the bed in Garnet, it is my promise that you would have enjoyed your stay more in one of our 7 ocean view rooms. Thank you, Your feedback helps future guests know what to expect. Garnet & Jewel are the two rooms...

We stayed in the Moonstone room and loved the amazing view with the feel of the ocean breeze and the sound of the waves coming through our windows. Innkeepers Meg and Josh were obviously very hard at work but were never too busy to answer questions and were always kind and gracious. We appreciated the privacy of the Moonstone as...

Stayed at Avonlea for our 41st anniversary. Wonderful week-end!! Stayed on the top floor (moonstone). The view was wonderful, opened all the windows and let the Atlantic Ocean rock us to sleep. Meg and Josh took care of us with 5 pm wine and cheese, and a great spread for breakfast each morning. We will recommend this B&B to our...

We really enjoyed our stay at Avonlea! The breakfasts were delicious and provided nice variety: frittatas, fruit, yogurt, homemade muffins and toasting options. Plus, cinnamon rolls, my personal favorite. The view from the porch is so soothing, and it is a comfortable place to spend time enjoying it, reading, visiting with the other guests, etc. The inn keepers, Meg and...

We stayed at Avonlea for a short 4 night "mini-moon" trip in August 2014. The location is great, walking distance to ferry "old harbor", most of the nice restaurants and right on the beach. We stayed in Amethyst on the 2nd floor, it's pretty small but we chose it for the private porch and private enterance along with a great...

This is the fourth time we have stayed at Blue Dory Inn/Avonlea. The first time was as a couple, the next time with our son, and the last two times, with our son and dog! Each time it has been great. Rooms are very nice, right by the ocean, and we loved the cookie hour. Would definitely go again.

The Inn was beautiful and set on a gorgeous piece of property right on the beach. We had to stay in two different rooms for two nights, but the inn keepers were very accommodating and helpful. The breakfast was underwhelming, but the afternoon wine and cookies was very enjoyable before going out for dinner. Not sure if I would stay...
