Detailed Reviews
Went to a special fish and seafood night last night. 7 course set “taster” menu. Although the place was packed, both the kitchen and front of house staff ran like a well oiled machine and produced superb food with a smile! They even managed to cater for one of our party who is not a seafood eater, she said the lamb was especially good! Thank you to all of the team there at the Crown!!

Really lovely pub set in the lovely countryside with a cricket field next door. We sat out the front of the pub for a nice cool drink in the sunshine and then ate from the very inviting menu. I had the superfood sale with grilled chicken which didn’t disappoint .. would thoroughly recommend trying the food when you visit. Staff were extremely lovely and very helpful.

Lovely country pub, serving local beers. We have eaten here a few times, the venison and lamb are excellent. Great seating out the front and back to either watch the cricket or watch everyone go about their business. The staff are always friendly and happy to see dogs brought in.

Lovely and friendly accommodation.
Room clean, bed comfortable.
Breakfast was superb and well worth the money.
Nice view out onto the Cricket pitch on a Sunny Saturday afternoon.
Will stay again whenever we go on the Bluebell Railway again

We visited here after we heard the chef was from the fox in West Hoathly. Excellent meal. Lovely staff. Will definitely be going back.
Would recommend this pub for a meal for 2 or a large party. Great atmosphere. Will be going for Mother’s day. And taking our family there at Easter.

Had a good Sunday Lunch with friends. Varied menu and friendly service. Attractive interior and a pleasant garden (when the wether improves), with a nice outlook across the village cricked green. Situated in the attractive village of Horsted Keynes convenient for the Bluebell Railway.

This place has gone downhill recently. Went in December and had a lovely roast. Booked for Mother's Day for family group of 9 but meal was really disappointing. Had roast lamb but half of it inedible and chewy, meal only luke warm and no Yorkshire. Mint was already on it whether you wanted it or not and some potatoes were burnt. Not much choice on the menu either and expensive. Pudding small and tiny pots of cream if you asked for extra they seemed put out. Not recommended.

The crown inn is first class, great service, nice room and friendly staff. This is one of the best small pubs we have stayed in. We only stayed one night but we will be going back soon. The village lovely, handy for anywhere on the drouth coast and bluebell railway.

I stayed here on my first night in the UK. Horsted Keynes is a typical English village close to the Bluebell Railway and to the town of East Grinstead.
This hotel provided good evening meals at reasonable prices. The room I stayed in was small but clean. The en suite bathroom was modern and clean. WiFi is available in bar and restaurant areas as well as the rooms. When I go back to the UK for another holiday I will definitely stay here again.
