Gran Hotel Don Manuel is widely celebrated for its spacious, comfortable rooms, though a handful of guests have raised concerns about size and cleanliness. Nestled close to Plaza Mayor, the hotel's location is a hit among travelers, offering easy access to historic sites and convenient parking. While opinions on value are divided, with some guests dissatisfied with extra charges, the hotel's cleanliness and attentive service during breakfast and at reception have garnered positive attention. However, views on the hotel's atmosphere and amenities like the spa are mixed, with some finding them lacking.

All well, very well located, 5 minutes from the center, you can park by the south entrance free 5 minutes from the hotel.
Breakfast spectacular, worth paying for 14 euros.
Comfortable room. Modern and with a large bed.
An excellent option in Caceres

We are still staying at the hotel, and arrival was easy to access and have private parking with prior payment.
The reservation was made by my husband .. I thought the spa came in the price and not so I was very disappointed, because for the 4 members (2 adults and Two children) to make use of it would be 80 euros, which we can not afford 😓.
It goes without saying that the hotel is very large. The room for 4 is immense with 3 tables (one studio), a very correct and comfortable bathroom with shower, bathtub and two sinks. And of great breadth. If I had anything to object to from the room, it's that it must have been unused for some time, because it has a lot of dust on it and the floor too. What I appreciate is that it's parquet because if it wasn't, I'd be allergic...
Very good breakfast buffet. The boy and girl who touched us, were very very kind and nice. Going with children we liked that as they are rowdy and thank you for not speaking badly. So very good for it.

First of all I want to highlight the excellent quality of the staff, from the reception, to the breakfast and the restaurant waiters for their kindness and professionalism.
The hotel is clean, the rooms are spacious, the bed is comfortable. Quiet and well located near the main square. It has two types of breakfast, buffet and continental, which allows those who have lighter breakfasts not to have to pay more than their fair share. The quality of what is served is very good. When we return to Cáceres, we will surely repeat.

We are a family of 4, parents and adult children, with a Great Dane. During our trip to Andalusia, we wanted to make a stop in Caceres. I had found the hotel "Gran Hotel Don Manuel" on the internet and it seemed to meet all our criteria: accessibility for PRMs, because I am disabled, dogs allowed, rooms with terrace, because I am insomniac and claustrophobic, and it It often happens at night that you need to go out easily. Before booking, I had communicated by email with the hotel and I was offered a ground floor apartment, with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a living room and a kitchenette. There was also a private terrace. There was mention of a supplement for the dog and for a private parking space. We would also have access, for a fee, to a spa, with an indoor swimming pool and jacuzzi. Everything seemed to fit and I made the reservation. So we arrive at the end of the afternoon and we discover a large structure in the city center, made up of several uniform buildings with light gray facades and linked together by squares paved in dark gray. The whole thing is about as welcoming as a hospital or a suburban housing estate minus the graffiti. At reception, we are received by 2 gentlemen in suits and black bow ties who look very much like funeral directors. One of them accompanies us to a locked glass door that opens onto dark corridors. We discover the apartment: the rooms are so tiny that it is difficult to get around the beds. The living room/kitchenette is equally small. It's impossible to get around in the wheelchair, so I have to take a few painful steps with the help of my husband. Everything is closed. Everything is gray and white, practically no effort on the decor. I ask how we get to the terrace and our receptionist shows us the patio doors then leaves. We open everything and discover that, yes, we have access to the outside: the French windows overlook... the hotel's paving and the public space! Customers and passers-by look at us like fish in a bowl! No question for me of crossing the 25 cm high and 30 cm wide step which constitutes the base of the French window. My son carries my wheelchair over the bed and my family places me near the open window, because I am close to having a claustrophobic attack! The entrance to the parking lot is too low for our Toyota Pro Ace, but my husband finds a space about a hundred meters away. We learn that the Spa is... closed! We dine, very poorly, in the central square of Caceres, where an “entertainment” is taking place. A group of amateur singers and actors compensate for their absolute lack of talent with the terrible noise of their sound system which multiplies the feedback effects. In the morning, before fleeing as quickly as possible, we learn that the supplement for our dog is... €25! Nowhere else have we been asked for such an amount! In summary, the "Gran Hôtel Don Manuel", which on the internet would like to pass itself off as a palace, is a sinister hotel, of the fourth class, which "shows off". I gave a point for the cleanliness, which was satisfactory and the comfortable bedding. But it's not worth more!

Excellent hotel.
Well located, almost at the foot of the city walls and the adjoining Plaza Mayor (outside the walls and of little interest).
We chose this hotel for its proximity but also for its parking. If you have given your registration before arriving, you can go directly to the car park and unload your suitcases via the elevator.
Perfect rooms with very nice bedding.
The 2-speed breakfast is an excellent initiative. Non-British people can enjoy their coffee croissant and fruit juice for €7.50, far from the prices usually applied in Spain.

Beautiful hotel and close to the centre. Parking and finding it was a breeze- be sure to call beforehand so that they can reserve a parking spot and you don’t have to worry about a ticket and pay when leaving.

The triple room was spacious and clean and perfect. Mini fridge nice and cold for baby’s bottles. They offer toothbrush shaving and sewing kit and soap and hand lotion in bathrooms are nice big bottles so no need to worry about running out.

It shares the public elevator to access the plaza mayor it’s only a stoned throw away which was so nice.

Elevator from parking goes straight to hotel reception which was also so convenient. Ample parking space as well. Bed and pillows were comfy.

The waiters at restaurant were great but food took a while. It was great for the baby that it wasn’t salted, but the menu didn’t have much taste. Perhaps we just had bad luck. Terrace was fantastic for a drink and morning coffee.

Bad service, the receptionist didn't inform me on arrival that parking was paid and not included in the room, they charge 14 euros a night to park the car. The receptionist calls me saying sorry that it was his mistake! Even then they didn't assume they were wrong! Made me pay for the parking, I felt robbed. Same with the Spa it's a joke dont know how somebody can call that a SPA with a tank of water and some fake palmtrees on the ceiling, I booked a massage they charged me the full price 40 euros, double what it was supposed to be for a 20min massage after waiting for 40min from the time it was booked. Changed rooms after 2 nights without sleeping because a generator or fan above my room was working for the whole night. The food was bad, asked for a hamburger that wasn't well cooked and with low-quality ingredients for 15 euro price even Mcdonalds was better for half the price. Worst experience ever on a so called "4" star hotel...

We chose this hotel as a stop on our road trip for its location near to the Plaza Major in Caceres and the availability of secure reserved parking. Navigating to it was a little tricky but there was excellent signage to the hotel car park. The reception staff were very welcoming and very helpful and the room was large and comfortable. The whole place was modern and airy, and spotlessly clean.

The location was great as it was only a few minutes’ walk to the main square with its bars and restaurants, and the historic walled city which is amazingly well preserved, exceeding our expectations.

Breakfast was not all to our taste as there was a lot of cured meat, though there was enough choice. There was an omelette station but no chef attending to it. There was also a rotten orange in one of the fruit bowls.

All in all we would stay here again if we are ever visiting Caceres.

Hotel Gran Manuel is located just a few minutes away from Plaza Mayor and is very spacious and modern. Our room was very big and confortable, with AC, a must for the spanish heat. We did ran into a little problem with the card reader in our room and were prompty moved to another (and even bigger) room.
The staff was always very nice and friendly with us and the hotel had private parking, at an extra cost.
Would stay again!

The parking cost is 14€/day, and that might be a bit expensive just for parking.

Is the parking underneath the hotel secure and free? Does the hotel allow pets and is there a charge for this?
Answer from Terence H

The parking is a public car park underneath the hotel with spaces reserved for clients of the hotel. Parking costs 12.5 euros per day. There is a lift directly to the hotel reception. There is an attendant on duty, you pick up your ticket on entering the car park which is barrier operated and take it to reception. You settle the parking bill when you check out. I did not see any animals while we were there so I couldn't say whether they are allowed
