Given the rave review on this site we had high expectations. I found it disappointing in that the accommodation was interior, only natural light coming from the patio, and I found the overall accommodation cramped, particularly the breakfast room, which with more than four people in was difficult to access food and drink. Staff were very pleasant. Wifi was patchy to...

We spent two nights at La Fonda Barranco and had a lovely time, helped in no short measure by the friendly and helpful owner Alejandro, who's pride in delivering excellent service for his guests is second to none. The hotel is a fantastic old Moorish-style building with an interior courtyard and a roof terrace, perfectly decorated and modernised. The room...

We had the pleasure of staying in La Fonda Barranco for three nights in November, and to say we had a great time was an understatement. The hotel was beautifully presented, with attention to detail paid in all aspects to the finish of the room, the lobby and the patio. Very very clean, and simply stunning in every way. The...

A great boutique hotel in the old centre! Rooms are simply but beautifully furnished, all are individual. There is a roof terrace with lovely views. Alejandro goes out of his way to make sure that guests have an amazing stay. All in all a great choice in Jerez!

Lovely and central. Much quieter than we expected. Very relaxed. Excellent nights sleep every night. The owners and staff were fantastic. So helpful, with excellent recommendations and booked sherry tastings at bodegas and gave us excellent advice for our visit to Cadiz. Breakfast was good. Nice to stay in a traditional place right in the heart of the city and...

Very comfortable and accommodating with a lovely relaxed atmosphere. Loved the roof terrace for breakfast - easy access to all the delights of Jerez. We would definitely return if ever coming back to Jerez

This was our first holiday as a family, travelling with a 20 month old, and we were a little nervous about it to say the least. After emails with the manager Alejandro, he sorted us a baby bath for our room, as our baby is scared of the shower, we had a travel cot and there were even some toys...

We flew into Jerez and took a taxi to the hotel (approx 10 minutes). As we approached the hotel we had a few concerns as surrounding the building are many completely run down properties, although there are a few which have been restored beautifully (including the hotel...) Inside we were greeted by Virginia who is the manager offering glasses of...

You are welcomed with a glass of sherry by a very nice lady who speaks perfect English. Parking can be a bit of a pain but we fortunately found a space nearby. The hotel charges 10 euros for a 2 day parking pass. We had the room at the top of the hotel (be warned no elevator though) which was...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
La Fonda Barranco is a Typical old merchant's house in the heart of Historic Jerez. Built on an ancient site in the oldest part of the Islamic city. The house mostly dates from 1865, but parts of it predate by several centuries. Each room is subtly different and opens on to the central marble floored and plant filled atrium. Although mantaining all the characteristic features of the original building, all rooms have moderns amenities such as air conditioning and wifi internet access. We also have a room adapted for clients with special needs. Breakfast is served on our roof terrace with the magnificent view of the Cathedral. With only 8 rooms and 2 studios La Fonda mantains the ambience of a private home. For this reason it's particularly suitable for group booking, having the feel of an exclusive house party. We have a non smoking policy through out La Fonda, however smoking is permitted in the upper open air terrace area. ... more   less
