On arrival in Merida from Caceres, the Hostal is easy to find on the north side of the town. It provided a good base for visiting surrounding places we wished to visit, including Trujillo, Montanchez & Guadalupe. We booked a superior single room for 2 guests, if this was superior I wouldn't like to have a standard room. Very cramped and basic. A 20 minute walk to the town and local sites (lots of shops closed down). Plenty of romanic places to visit. This is a place were you can cover all the sites in a day....

Plus: Quiet location Free on street parking free wifi Very clean Minus: Room 3 has an uncomfortable and VERY creaky bed Poor AC, just didn't cool the room sufficiently and it was HOT out Very small room Basic continental breakfast No tea/coffee in the room, but that's standard for Spain

Lowlights: the continuous noise in the room due to the fancoil (even if you have it disconnected the noise is still there, the location is far away from...

Las Abadias is labelled as a hostel, but don't let that put you off, it's not like a dorm based hostel. It's a modern & comfortable hotel at the end of a long blocked of terraced homes. It has secure underground parking, a simple reception area, key access gates & door. The room, though a little small, was nevertheless comfortable,...
