We went to Franeker and stayed at the Tullip Inn hotel de Valk in Franeker. When you park the car you see the logo of hotel de Valk which is broken. The room is smal but ok. Staff is very friendly!! Breakfast is ok. But the fruit had to be replaced, it was not fresh any more! Walking to the... More

Through www.hotelkamerveiling.nl, an internet auction company, we booked a standard room. This room was small but adequate. When we entered the room, we saw that the room was located under the busy restaurant. Two sets of earplugs were provided for free by the management and were lying next to the king bed. We needed those because the restaurant was vacuum... More

Have stayed here a few times and it never changes, which is actually nice, rooms are basic, quite dull in decor, bathroom is adequate, restaurant is good and always busy, which van mean a bit of a wait for your food, breakfast was basic continental style and not very inspiring.

We liked this place, it’s just a modern box-like structure like so many others, but it stands above most of them. The staff were all pleasant and helpful, though they mostly preferred speaking German rather than struggling with English, but this was no problem at all. The rooms are fine in an anonymous modern style, but clean and comfortable, and... More

Comfortable king size bed, good size room, nice modern bathroom. Staff extremely helpful - continental breakfast laid out well and with copious choices. Excellent supper and good size communal space. Not in the centre of town but therefore comparatively quiet situation.

This inn was booked for us by the tour company. When we first arrived, I was disappointed that the hotel is not right in the downtown area. It is only a five minute bike ride, but I was expecting to be right in the town. From the outside, the hotel seems a bit outdated and run down. The hall to... More

It's basic and that's OK. Restaurant is only open until 20:30 and the breakfast is good and basic. Room I had was with the basic features, shower and toilet in plain white tiles. Room was a good size and the parking in front of the hotel is no problem.

Yes, nice hotel, what you would expect from a hotel chain, bit dated and a nuisence the reception on first floor then having to carry cases back down but yes thats a bit picky! Comfortable and we too were surprised at the quality of the food in the restaurant, tasty and plentiful, friendly and helpful staff.

Stayed in this Hotel in September 2012. The room and ensuite were very clean. The bed was very comfortable. There was a welcome Tea/ Coffee tray with plenty of tea and coffee.
