Situated near the marina, Four Seasons Vilamoura garners praise for its tranquil location and lively atmosphere, enhanced by live music and chic decor. Guests are enamored with the spacious, modern rooms and the hotel's cleanliness is repeatedly commended. The staff's professionalism and warm service often make a lasting impression, despite the odd operational glitch. While the amenities, including the pristine pools and diverse meal offerings, add value, some guests feel the pricing is on the higher side.

We recently returned from an incredible week at the Four Seasons Vilamoura, and it was one of the best experiences we’ve had on holiday. The hotel was fairly quiet, which made the stay even more enjoyable. Initially, we were a bit disappointed with our appointed studio room, but that quickly faded once we were upgraded to Room 94. Miguel handled the whole thing brilliantly. Our one-bed apartment was truly outstanding - spacious, luxurious, and fully equipped with everything you’d need for a comfortable week-long stay.

The kitchen was particularly well-appointed, making it easy to prepare meals. The bed was huge and extremely comfortable, and the bathroom was massive, featuring a powerful shower and a jacuzzi bath, with lovely toiletries to boot. While the apartment was a bit of a walk from the main building, it was easily accessible and well-located near the front of the hotel. We are also close to the pool and enjoyed a daily dip in the huge ‘top’ pool. We also enjoyed the gym, which is small but had everything we need.

Small thing, but the TV had all UK channels, which was brilliant for us for our downtime.

Evenings were spent at the nearby marina and Jaxx, a cozy little café and bakery around the corner in the Old Village, which we highly recommend and has a super-cheap happy hour or two! Jafers supermarket is also a short walk away and has literally everything you need in it.

The hotel staff were warm, friendly, and always approachable, adding to the overall positive atmosphere.

If there was one area that could be improved, it would be the breakfast. While not the best we’ve had at a hotel, it was perfectly adequate and didn’t take away from our overall enjoyment.

In short, we absolutely loved our time at the Four Seasons Vilamoura. The accommodation - especially our apartment - was flawless, and the location was ideal. We lived walking everywhere - every day up and down the hill, to Quarteira and the marina. Ubers are super cheap, though. It’s around €4-5 back to the hotel from the marina.

We enjoyed Marufo 1 at one end of the spectrum and the Thai Beach Club at the other! The former is no frills but delicious and cheap and the latter is where the cool crowd go. Sunday afternoons are an experience and a half, if you can get a reservation. Book it when you book the hotel, is my advice!

We wouldn’t hesitate to return to the Four Seasons (they even offered to post my partner’s hoodie to him that he left behind) and can’t recommend it highly enough!

Thank you for your part in our perfect trip, Four Seasons! 🫶🏻

Choose the four season based on trip advisor reviews so feel it’s important to write a review as many of us choose based on these reviews. I went with my daughter and the studio was huge with lots of space for her to run around in. When we arrived our room was ready for us which was great. Like many reviews the bathroom was dated and the kitchen the fridge had seen better days but the toaster/ kettle/microwave and coffee machine were all new. We were on the ground floor which was perfect but as it was a studio the terrace was tiny and we were a bit hemmed in. However this was no big deal as we were so close to the pool. Breakfast was lovely and worth the extra we paid. Dinner was only ok we ate there first night only. We took an Uber in to the marina each night and cost about €3.50. It is walkable about 20/25 mins to the marina did it once but not the way back. The pools were fantastic and the indoor pool was a welcome relief to the mid day sun. The shot of cold smoothie and cold face cloth in the afternoon was a lovely touch. As mentioned by many reviews the staff are outstanding and certainly make the four seasons stand out they simply can’t do enough for you. My little girl to my surprise went to kids club without any problem and looked to go this is down to Carolina Michael and I’m
Sorry I don’t catch the other girls name. Rooms cleaned every day and the grounds were spotless. It’s perfect for families everyone we met were just lovely staff and guests. Well done four seasons and thank you

This was our first visit to Portugal and the Four Seasons. We found the staff welcoming and for the most part extremely efficient. The accommodation was faultless, we could not have asked for more. The apartments had everything and more for our needs.

We found the food choice limited and quite expensive, which quickly lead to us going out of the complex for our meals and clearly we were not the only ones. There is a small shop nearby where you can buy the essentials so we could not help thinking that the complex is missing a trick.

The gym was extremely well presented with good kit but it would’ve been even better if it opened earlier in the day, 7am for example.

There is a small pool bar for drinks and snacks with one staff member and I am sure if there was pool service they could improve sales, especially as they have just moved to a cashless payment model.

As mentioned the staff were excellent however whilst here we witnessed a couple of incidents by the pool. The first one came about following a one off endorsement of the no reservation of sun beds policy, which I fully endorse. One family put all 5 towels out first thing the pool staff politely put a notice out to remind of the policy then after another hour they folded the towels up. The sunbeds were then occupied and the original people turned up at 1:30pm demanding their sunbeds. There were no staff around to enforce reason and the guests were left to “fight it out.”
No staff were around on other days to keep the momentum so as guests changed so did the rules. On the whole it was ok though.

More very sensible rules for the big “adult” pool were no inflatables and diving or ball games. This was politely endorsed until one very arrogant father told his teen sons to carry on as they wished, and this lead to all users of the adult pool unable to swim because the small game turned into a full water polo game with teens diving in and making a real nuisance of themselves. The staff should have stepped in.

We booked a boat excursion from the Marina to see the Benagil caves. It was really good and well worth it. We wanted to use the tourist land train to see some sights on the way down to the marina but after waiting half an hour we chose to flag down a taxi as it did not arrive.

Would I go back? Yes definitely. But my teenage kids were bored once the novelty of the sun and pool wore off.

Dear Sean F, Portugal certainly is a country worth visiting! I may be biased, but I truly believe that everyone should come to our country at least once to experience the culture. We are delighted to have been a part of your first experience in the Algarve, and we really are happy to know that you thoroughly enjoyed your stay with us. We’re especially pleased to read that you thoroughly enjoyed your stay in our apartments, as we take great pride in providing a comfortable and memorable experience for our guests. Thank you for highlighting this in your review. Our most sincere apologies for the inconveniences you encountered at the swimming pools. Our house rules do indeed prohibit the use of balls or inflatables in the big pool, and we instruct our team members to remove towels left on sunbeds for more than 15 minutes to ensure fair access for all guests. Your feedback is invaluable, and we will reinforce these guidelines to ensure a better experience for everyone. Hoping this is the first of many visits!! Looking forward to welcoming you once again in the not-to-distant future. Yours sincerely, Josias Gonçalves Four Seasons Vilamoura Resort – ‘The accommodation was faultless’│Reservations Department

My sister and I researched throughly and were delighted we chose to book the Four Seasons at Vilamoura on a half board basis. The two bedroom apartment we were led to was almost faultless. Beautifully clean (refurbished/cleaned during the winter), both bedrooms and the sitting room/kitchen/patio felt luxurious but homely and very spacious as with the en suite and bathroom. The bed linen, towels and bath robes were good quality and again spotless (changed regularly) which is not always the case and bath products were topped up generously. (We slipped up and didn't take any kitchen basics (coffee, tea, milk, water) and there was nothing (no hamper) which would be helpful or made clear, even if a charge applied). However, this certainly didn't take away our delight with the apartment, which included a lockable safe, ironing board/washing m/c etc provided. Now the FOOD ... due to being end April/early May sadly not all of the restaurants (buffet, themed restaurants etc) were available but after mentioning our disappointment to the charmingly efficient and friendly Ruben (Public Relations Manager) we could not have been looked after better. Not only did Ruben understand our disappointment, he ensured the entire Brasserie menu was available to us and we felt when we ordered from this menu everything was 'cooked to order' which meant hot, fresh and superb sea bass (for example) and veg were cooked to perfection. The avocdo & prawn starter tasted beautiful and the presentation sublime, as was the chocolate mousse (like molten chocolate) in fact, the best we had ever tasted we commented! Breakfast was ample but a little underwhelming and repetitive, though omlettes were available (again cooked to order) and a daily offering of the usual buffet bacon, eggs etc (not a fan) but also great pastries and yoghurts were also available and to be fair the fresh fruit platters were gorgeous! The staff we felt were almost without exception SUPERB. We commented several times that we felt the staff were so friendly, funny and above all GENUINELY there to enhance our holiday experience ... a real credit to Four Seasons, Vilamoura. So thank you so much to all, a really memorable and enjoyable experience and it didn't hurt the weather was amazing too! Thank you again to Ruben, keep doing what you are doing - we would love to revisit!

Overall we love it here and will definitely return. It would be 5 stars if the kitchens and bathrooms were updated. They r looking rather tired, the dishwasher was erratic and the washing machine was rather smelly. The wifi could be better too.

However lots of positives. The staff are outstanding. The waiters are particularly friendly and professional but every member of staff goes out of their way to do whatever they can to make your holiday perfect. The managers/reception staff even responded to my many questions on email before our arrival with flexibility and helpfulness.

The food was excellent. I am glad they allowed us to use the grill menu as a fallback for a few nights as some were definitely better than others. The breakfast isn’t huge in choice but all the key ingredients are there and regularly topped up. Some specialty breads to put on the toaster would be a nice addition.

The new chef is certainly working hard and is receptive to feedback. A few crackers for the cheese would be good. If u like deserts, these are exceptional. Don’t be put off by the small salad type dishes, they may be small but they are imaginative and very tasty.

All the staff are excellent including a waiter who is relatively new but is a great addition to the team he Sanjog Gurong.

We had a studio this time which was more than adequate tho the verandas are very small.

The location of this hotel works for us as we like a walk to the marina (about 20 mins) but there is a supermarket and a few cafes and bars in the Old Village nearby and which is very pretty. The area is peaceful which we like.

The Four Seasons gardens etc are extremely well kept.

We had friends join us one night and the staff went out of their way as always to give great service. It’s a great hotel all round but without a doubt it’s the staff who make it special. If the kitchens, bathrooms and wifi were brought up to a more modern standard this hotel would definitely get 5 stars from me.

Unfortunately our impression of this resort is not as good as some of the over reviews indicate. Not sure what this resort is trying to be? It’s a time share property but is also trying to be a hotel. It is confusing, as there is a daily housekeeping service changing towels, beds, cleaning the apartment but they do not wash the pool towels or dressing gowns - those you have to do yourself, although we were not told about this until we asked why this was not being done.
We have several issues with our apartment:
The dressing gowns are fraying with missing loops, so the ties are always loose.
The kitchen is very dated, with poor fitting appliances, however, there is a modern toaster and kettle.
The washing machine and drier are in a cupboard, when the cupboard door is opened, the drier tilts forwards, as it is perched on top of the washing machine and being held in place by the cupboard door.
There is a terrible smell of drains in the bathroom, not constantly, but often during the evening and night.
The bathroom is very dated.
The mosquito screen door is very old and needs a very strong person to open and close it.

On a positive note:
The pool areas are very nice and clean with plenty of umbrellas for shade.
The resort is in a nice quiet area in the old village.

After my work trip to an event in the Algarve, I decided to stay at this hotel to relax. I am astonished in terms of the quality offered and the hygiene and peace of mind.I really liked everything, the chef in the room I spoke to (a professional colleague) was extremely professional and friendly. Congratulations to all the staff. The dish I ate well, I don't even have words to describe worthy of Kings.

Dear Chef Marco’s, I must say, we've received many compliments ranging from "wonderful" to "fantastic" and "lovely," but "worthy of kings" is one of the most remarkable, if not the best, and certainly my personal favourite! Thank you ever so much for your kind and genuine feedback. Our newly appointed Head Chef, Rogério Gago, truly is an exceptional cook and an even better person. His passion for food shines through, as he frequently engages his colleagues in discussions about his culinary experiments outside of work. Rogério often says, 'The way to one’s heart is through food.' He strongly believes that people can 'taste' the effort and love put into a dish. It’s been amazing to learn from him and we cannot wait to see what more he has to offer. Hoping to host you once again in the not-too-distant future! Another week this time overlooking the Golf side making a welcome change, we knew that yet again improvements have been made to the resort area and to the rooms.
This time it was bedroom improvements and how good they looked with virtually new everything, smart and chic.
Also at the main entrance a new sign to welcome everyone.
The welcome from the staff was great as was the service and everyone now used to a cashless bar and restaurant, simple enough just double check before paying.
The food again was excellent a bit pricey but quality IMO and the Bistro is a great place to eat close to the bar and entertainment.
So the week flew by and before we knew it we were packing again but we have the next visit not too far away to look forward to.
Enjoy the setting, the ambience, the friendliness of the staff and members alike, enjoy the resort facilities and your home from home apartment, its all there, its all good.

This is not the real Four Seasons.
The staff were lovely though.
The rooms were tired and some smelt musty but they are well equipped. The two rooms I went in all had kettles, toasters, juicers, fridges, cookers, crockery, robes, toiletries, hairdryers and pool towels to name but a new items. There is also a small shop within walking distance of the hotel which was handy for water and snacks.
We did not take the train down to the marina because it was €6 each and an Uber was €4. My top tip would be to down load the Uber app. Also, get an Uber from the airport as its the cheapest way.
We had a great time at the hotel.
The pool area was slippery. One girl fell over / collapsed and hit her head. She was out cold. The staff should have kept her in recovery and sought professional help. Instead they gave her water and compressed her head. This was wrong. I have no idea what happened to her but the staff need more first aid training. Hence why I have given it a 3*.
Lots of mozzies so take a plug in or spray.

Dear dydallas77, Thank you so much for your recent stay and review. I was happy to read that you enjoyed our apartments and the plenitude of its facilities as well as our brilliant team. We are a proudly independent hotel as clearly stated in our website. Regarding the incident with a guest not related to your stay, I can inform you Iwas the one to assist and I have plenty of first aid training. The lady fainted and that is the reason that she hit her head. She had her vitals checked with adequate equipment and was offered external help from emergency services, which was declined. We as a hotel cannot oblige anyone to be seen by a doctor although we do recommend. While I was disappointed that you didn’t have a five-star experience, I will be sharing your complete review with my staff to ensure that we learn and grow from your remarks. I hope that you will stay with us again on your next trip to Vilamoura. First visit but certainly won't be our last. We decided to have an apartment as guessed there may not be many restaurants open as out of season. However we loved the restaurant on site, the food, the service, the price that we eat there most nights. We were still pleased we decided on an apartment as it gave us more space. It was well equipped with good quality appliances and gave us the opportunity to have breakfast and the occasional meal in our room. We had a bath with a shower over the top and although had grab rails maybe difficult for someone with mobility issues. We also had a lovely outside area with sun beds and a table and chairs. The complex is surrounded by a golf course which provided nice views. I was pleasantly surprised that the maids cleaned 6 of the 7 days we were there. The complex had excellent facilities such as gym and indoor pool as well as all the outdoor pools. There is a small well stocked supermarket very close by and a few bars and restaurants but they were only just starting to open in February. The marina is about 20-30 minute flat easy walk or a Bolt taxi is around €5. Lovely area for walks, buses to Faro or Albufeira and it's not all about Golf!
