I went to Viamede for some much needed solo reflection and renewal. I rented a studio cottage mid week. Viamede was exactly what the doctor ordered. Beautiful, quiet, with lots of gorgeous outdoor space to journal, do yoga and craft. The staff were incredible and very accommodating of my dietary restrictions. Photo is from the front deck of my cottage. Just magic.
Magnificent location and property. Excellent, friendly staff. Superb food. Very relaxing place. Charming and rustic. Lovely lake and lots of fishing. Will be back for sure. Great spa with pool, steam bath, sauna and exercise room. Everything you need to relax.
This past weekend we attended a family wedding having an excellent time. I must admit I had my doubts upon reading some of the reviews here. But it was a perfect location for a destination wedding. Guests came from across Canada and around the world. I was most impressed with the variety of self directed activities, most notably the availability of canoes, kayaks & paddle boards. There are also bicycles, an outdoor pool, a nice indoor pool and sauna, fie pits, a huge video library, lots of games and assorted toys. I was delighted to come across the little farm and vegetable garden along a path at the back of the property. The resort is large and spread out. The buildings are old and rustic ( floors creaked, some chipped paint, etc.) but it was clean, I slept like a log and the food was good and it was fresh. The staff were unobtrusive yet very helpful and attentive. It’s the perfect place for a back to nature family reunion or corporate retreat.…
We had a wonderful 10th visit to Viamede. Ever year things improve and this year was no exception. The food at Mt Julian was AMAZING (thank you Magic Mandy and Ben for the great service and accommodating our special requests). Our grandkids had just as much fun as we did. See you next year!!! Thanks for being our second summer home.
Clean & comfortable accommodation with great lake view - loved the kayaking & paddle boarding - pool always clean - very tidy grounds courtesy of staff member Jared & crew, especially after a bad May storm - great breakfast buffet with friendly staff - and the 7 course dinner with wine pairings in the scenic Mt. Julian Inn, created by chef Mandy & served by owner Ben was the highlight of our stay - our sincere thanks to everyone at Viamede! We can’t wait to return!
2 adults two kids and a dog had A great time for our second visit here. Really casual vibe With lovely staff throughout great kids activities and beautiful location. Thanks to all the staff especially Jordan who was running the kids activities and did a great job. Breakfast is great and restaurant on site is great!
My family (3 siblings, 1 spouse, 6 "kids" (ages 15-25) and 3 dogs) had a fantastic 3 night stay at Viamede resort. The 3 cabins we occupied were very clean and had great views! There were lots of activities to keep everyone busy or just relax on your deck. Breakfast was great, as was the food and service at the Boathouse Pub. Staff were very friendly and the whole atmosphere was very casual ... perfect for our family!
Went with another family from July 30 to August 1. This resort is a couple of hours drive from Toronto located on the shores of Stoney Lake. Serene surrounding. A number of activities available on site for those who wish ... for others, you can just chill on the beach and enjoy the surrounding natural beauty. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this resort and highly recommend it!!
We were rookies at Viamede over the Civic holiday long weekend. We were treated wonderfully and had a marvellous time. As we had our two dogs with us, we booked a one-bedroom cottage. It was a thoroughly relaxing weekend — just what we needed. The food was excellent, along with the pool and beach. But the best part was the staff! Completely professional and friendly. Very much looking forward to our sophomore visit!
My partner and I had a great time here! The food was good, the amenities are great, and the overall vibe is very casual and relaxed. It gives you the feeling of visiting a friends cottage. Want to go for a canoe ride? Just grab one off of the beach and go. Want to watch a movie? Just grab one from the lobby. As they proudly claim on their website, it's a bit rough around the edges, but that never pulled me out of it and in fact made me like it more. Our single room cottage was far more spacious than I was expecting and was clean when we arrived. Overall an easy recommendation if you're looking for a relaxing time with some beautiful lake views and nearby hiking.
