Viamede is your personal Ontario resort. No two guests are the same, and Viamede Resort is something different to every guest that stays with us. For some, we’re a cottage that feels like home, where you make friends with the neighbours and grill up masterpieces on your lakeside patio every evening. For others, we’re a boardroom with lots of natural light, fresh air for break-out sessions, and a hearty lunch for the whole team. And for some guests, we’re a secluded retreat out of the city to reconnect with a loved one over an exquisite meal and many glasses of local wine. We’re pet friendly, family-friendly, nature-friendly... basically, we’re just really friendly. We’re not big on rules, complicated prices or policies, and ultimately we just want you to have a good time, whatever that means to you.

Thank you very much for the beautiful peaceful and restful family day weekend. The accommodations excellent food and dog park and nearby trails for daily hikes were awesome. We enjoyed our stay so much that we booked three cabins next family day weekend to bring our immediate family up. I also want to thank you for comping our meal Friday night- what a great gesture for my 60 th birthday- much appreciated. Please extend our sincere thanks to Alex, Kally,Madison , Mandy and of course Ben for making this experience so great!

We were looking for a place to unplug and soak in nature with our entire family (fur babies) and we found it with Viamede! We stayed in a newly renovated, two bedroom cabin and was impressed by the space and comfort it provided us! The (free) breakfast was filling and had plenty of options - not just a continental breakfast! The planned activities were just what our 9 yo daughter needed! Spaced out throughout the day, allowing us to explore the grounds, but also keeping us busy! The board game & DVD library we’re a great hit too!! Nature trails are amazing! The farm was near closing, but we visited the pigs every day and the Guinea hens. The property itself is beautiful and you can see how much more fun you could have in a bit warmer weather (fire pits, water activities, pool!). We appreciated the fenced in dog park to allow our boys to run & play off leash! They were tired from the trails, but this space gave them a bit more fun! Overall, a great trip! We will definitely be back (maybe in a warmer month). Thank you, Viamede!!!!

We stayed for 4 nights in August, we really loved the place! It's very family friendly, they have kids activities most days which allows parents to have some time to relax. My daughter loved the beach/play structure and the outdoor pool. There are kayaks and paddleboards available on the beach anytime you wanted to use them. We stayed in a hotel room which was big enough for the 3 of us. It was clean and the beds were comfortable. We had an awesome balcony overlooking the lake. Breakfast is included which was a big bonus and it's buffet style so you can eat as much as you want! The food in the Boathouse was good and we loved sitting on the deck overlooking the lake in the evening for dinner. Even when a corporate group was hosted during our stay it didn't make the place feel busy or crowded and it's so relaxing and chilled out. There is no cable TV available, there are DVD's available but we just used our firestick in the room. This place just misses 5 out of 5 as there are areas here or there that require some TLC but this did not affect our stay in a negative way.

Overall an unbelievable experience for our family with 3 kids 5-9 years old. The cottage was brand new, spacious, had all the utensils / supplies you need. Screened in porch with outdoor sofas was amazing at bug hour / in the rain. The activities for kids never stopped. Arts and crafts , movie night , pizza making. The counsellors were responsible and friendly. Best of all were all the included amenities: tubing, you can take out a fishing boat on your own , water trampoline, beach, climber , kayaks. The owner Ben was super friendly and would even take you on a boat tour if requested! Some of the grounds/ main building do need some upkeep like people said. The building is over 100 years old so it’s understandable. If you expect a luxury hotel you may be disappointed , though the cottage itself was luxurious and brand new, super clean. Pool was cold I’m told but we didn’t go in. Indoor pool was awesome on a rainy day. The food at the boathouse was delicious All staff were super friendly , especially the manager Nicky. We went mid week and it was super quiet even though it was almost at capacity. On Saturday it was a bit busier but still not crowded , lots of kayaks and canoes still available. Didn’t feel like you were at a crowded resort at all. Good idea to bring your own beach chairs and umbrellas- there is little shade on the beach Fire pits were set up with wood every night. Included breakfast was fantastic and tasty. It felt very laid back, cottagey/ rustic (outside only). There are still a few unrenovated cottages so call in advance. Overall, the value for the price (we paid $750 / night all in for 3 bedroom cabin) can’t be beat. Same price or less than Deerhurst which is packed and offers way less amenity or peace and quiet . If you want kids to have fun ( and the staff entertain them for you for a couple hours so adults can relax and enjoy too) this is your place. Already booked for next year

My daughter got married in June 2023 at Viamede, so as Mother of the Bride, I wanted to share my thoughts for any future brides. The lake and scenery are just beautiful to look at and the ceremony site was stunning, with the backdrop of the lake. Unfortunately, the grounds are rather unkept, "rustic" is what it is called and the outside of the main building itself could use some new paint and basic maintenance. The inside is clean and tidy and other than being older, quite nice. The rooms are clean. The indoor pool and sauna are very nice and have a great view of the lake. The outdoor pool was not open, which we were disappointed at. Some of our guests had booked cabins to stay in and we were promised they would be finished being rebuilt when they told us in February that they had all been demolished. They were not and our guests were put elsewhere, which was not as it should have been and did not work out as well. My family and the bride and groom booked to arrive the night before, to get things organized and just relax for a bit before the big event. For dinner, we did not really have any choices for food, other than we were allowed to join a business group that had a small buffet, but were not allowed to eat in the dining room, so we had to get plates, go into the other people's event, get the small quantity of food (and choices) that were left and then we were asked to eat in the closed Boathouse restaurant by ourselves. It was just a strange feeling and made us all feel uncomfortable and intrusive. It is quite a walk from the main building to the ceremony point, so I would suggest you rent a newly built, lovely cabin closer to the actual wedding point to avoid the walk in your dress clothes and wedding dress. The resort had a tornado come through between us booking it and the wedding day and when they rebuilt the ceremony area, they added large steps to the "isle" way and did not let us know, so it was a shock when we arrived and we had to rearrange and rethink at the rehearsal, how the wedding party walk down the isle, as we had 2 and 4 year old flower girls, who could never do the steps alone. We were very thankful to not have any wheelchair bound attendees or guests, so that would be a consideration if you are planning a wedding there. A heads up would have been nice. Also, for pictures, everyone is looking down going down the steps so they don't fall, so that is a hinderance. There is no sound system at the ceremony site either. The staff were all very pleasant, but it is mostly staffed with young girls, all of which only know their particular job, so when you ask them something, they look at you like they have no idea how to help you. There is not really an older supervisor to help run the place or help with issues. Deanna, the event planner, is lovely and very helpful. She is not always around, so that is sometimes a bit of an issue, but when she is, she is great and extremely friendly. The food was wonderful at the seated Wedding dinner and all was good. The breakfast buffet is great and the pastries they serve there are very fresh and delicious. There are very little food places available until after July 1st apparently, so that should be a consideration for your guests also. Lastly, the water situation. Since I was a little busy for the time there, our guests did not let me know this until the last minute, when I found out myself. On the Sunday morning as people where getting up and ready to leave, the entire resort ran out of water! There were no showers, there were no toilets to be flushed or sinks to wash your hands or brush your teeth. When asked, we were told it was because there were so many people, but we had a small wedding, with only 48 people including the wedding party and there was only one other family staying at the resort at the same time, as the cabins were not completed yet. Later, I was told by some of our other guests, that this water problem had already been a problem for them during their stay and they had to complain and it was fixed. Totally unacceptable for a resort. People where boarding planes and wanted to get freshened up, people had long drives and had to use dirty facilities without a place to wash up. Very disappointing way to end the weekend. I tried to be as fair as I could and raise both good points and not so good. The wedding did go off well. I just wanted to help give people a heads up. Hope it helps.

I don't have enough superlative words to decribe our stay at the Viamede Resort. The staff were so welcoming and cheerful to a fault. They'd do anything for you. The accommodations were top notch. And the food!! Oh the food was out of this world. We'd have liked to try everything on the menu but that was impossble due their extensive list. All so delicious. The chefs are topnotch. Everyone has to go to this place at least once. You won't regret it. Hats off to everyone at the Viamede Resort.

A wonderful Ontario experience! Cottage was very clean, had a comfortable bed and bathroom. Staff were very friendly and helpful. No tipping at this resort! Indoor and outdoor pools, beach and play area suitable for children. Restaurant 1885 has tasty food and healthy options with very reasonable prices. Marked hiking trails on the property! and only a 15 minute drive to Petroglyphs Provincial Park.

We just had our 5th stay at Viamede resort, and we love it more and more each time. It feels like a home away from home for our family. Our two-year-old has so much fun experiencing all the amenities Viamede has to offer. The staff at Viamede are so welcoming and very attentive to the needs of their guests. As soon as we left the resort, my wife and I were discussing the next time we could come back for our 6th visit.

I went to Viamede for some much needed solo reflection and renewal. I rented a studio cottage mid week. Viamede was exactly what the doctor ordered. Beautiful, quiet, with lots of gorgeous outdoor space to journal, do yoga and craft. The staff were incredible and very accommodating of my dietary restrictions. Photo is from the front deck of my cottage. Just magic.
