We stayed at Echo valley as part of a special trip to Canada and can honestly say that it was the ‘icing on the cake’ of the whole holiday. It is quite remote but worth every minute of the drive to the property, it is in a stunning location and the various cabins and lodges are of a very high quality and extremely comfortable. The owners Norm and Nan have realised a dream of providing a relaxing and ‘nourishing’ place for guests to do as little or as much as they choose in this lovely spot, and we made use of the spa for a Thai massage, and managed to for one shooting, fishing, a guided hike, horse riding and a 3 hour escorted canyon drive in the 3 nights we spent there! All activities apart from the spa are included and there is nothing that the staff won’t do to try to ensure all your requests are catered for. The food throughout our stay was exceptional with breakfast, lunch and dinner all included - and wine with the evening meal. It would be churlish to pick out any member of staff for particular praise as, without exception, every member of staff at the ranch went over and above to ensure we had a terrific stay with them, and we felt as though we were valued guests throughout. There is nothing ‘stuffy’ about this place and we had many laughs with staff along the way which was great.
It was a pleasure to meet Norm and his family - Sienna was delightful and really helpful with us around the horses, and we were sorry not to meet Nan who was unavoidably unable to be at the ranch. There is a real ‘family’ feel to Echo Valley
And we wish we could have stayed longer. Hopefully we will return one day - I’m the meantime I cannot recommend it enough!

We arrived not fully knowing what to expect, but very quickly we were made to feel welcome and nothing like a hotel. Everyone was very friendly and we felt like we were being invited into a well loved home. No shoes were allowed inside, but then friends take off their shoes in my home too, so if you don’t like to go bare foot remember to take slippers! The food served was of an exceptionally high standard, all freshly prepared with quality ingredients. For the three nights we stayed we were made to feel welcome and as guests called the shots for when we wanted to eat and which activity we wanted to take part in if any at all. For me it was all about the horses and therefore was lucky to be taken out for a couple of rides with Mia and Kenzie. The trails were fantastic and Diego was a lovely horse and I couldn’t have asked for better. Andy and Nan took us for a hike with all 3 dogs (even though 2 of them decided after a while that they had had enough and went home!). In summary nothing was too much trouble and both Norm and Nan were wonderful hosts, we would return in a heartbeat!

4 Day visit, guided tours and instruction available in all offered activities, participated in fly fishing, e biking, horse riding, 4x4 Fraser river canyon tour, hiking, rifle shooting, nature walk. The Canyon tour was spectacular, fly fishing a first, caught a trout, unexpected the nature walk was one of many highlights.
All staff very welcoming, can do, friendly, responsive to requests, the Chef’s menu adaptable to diet restrictions, etc. The Spa is Thai, perfect after a strenuous day or just to melt the stress away. Perfect get away to escape the hustle and bustle. Runway available for fly in.

1. Flies all over my cabin, I had to switch rooms at midnight. I sent the team to kill them, none were killed so I did the best I could until I could no longer handle it. It made me feel quite unhygienic to know my accommodation had a fly issue in the middle of winter.
2. Housekeeping didn’t provide new towels, change the used ones, or cleaned my shower throughout my stay? Again, unhygienic, I was one guest in the entire property.
3. I should’ve left by 2:00 PM, not 3:00 PM. The line at the airport was huge, leaving me to be anxious for my flight back to Vancouver, regardless of the size of the airport/how small it is.
4. Area around the pool wasn’t clean either, dirt from the flower pots, etc, including the shower in the pool area.
5. The wrappings from food etc, were left in the car from my first initial drive to the property. If I am to pay for a private transport of $500, the car should be spotless there/back.
I give kudos however to the lovely Thai staff for their hospitality.

Michelle, we always appreciate honest feedback from our guests and it’s our goal for all our guests to have a great experience in Echo Valley. Which is what we thought you had, when you wrote into our guest book “You made my Christmas merry and bright” and told us you felt like a princess during your stay. We do of course want to address your concerns, and when you did reach out to our team in the middle of the night about the issue with the flies (which hatched due to very mild temperatures in December) we addressed your concerns immediately and moved you to a different cabin. Part of our commitment to sustainability is that we don’t change sheets and towels daily, as the note in each bathroom states, and that we ask guests to place their used towels on the floor if they wish to have new ones. It’s not unusual that during a 2-night stay such as yours, guests are happy to use the same towel twice and contribute to our mission of sustainability. We apologize for any oversights in the pool area, where some soil from the plants may have spilled over while watering, and we certainly did not want you to stress about missing your flight. It was a pleasure to host you and we can assure you that cleanliness is right at the top of our list, as part of a great guest experience.

This ranch is an absolute gem in the middle of the wllderness. The setup here is extraordinary in that you will find everything you need in one place, which is just as well as the nearest living human (lots of bears etc) is over an hour away along a gravel road.
However what makes this place so special is the staff. They are exceptional and attentive to all of your needs. They all multi task. The wrnaglers play with horses by day and serve your dinner at night. The management staff organise the entire stay with you and then while you're enjoying your adventures they clean the rooms.
The chef presented wonderful 5 course dinners every night which would not look out of place in a michellin starred restaurant. All produced from the local crops and meat.
If you are looking for a wonderful outdoor experience where you ca go horse riding, mountain biking, hiking, fishing, shooting and then finish the day with an hour and half Thai massage - followed by an evening of great company and food then this is the place to choose. I cannot recommend it enough. You get the choice if you want to dine alone as a family or with the other guests. Most opt to dine all together, which we did and it was wonderful experience for us and our teenage daughters to meet new people with different life experiences to share. You feel like one big happy family on the ranch together.

The ranch is in incredible location it is a huge property in a gorgeous valley. The Ranch has amazing spacious and luxurious villa type accommodation. You can ride horses or e-bike on the fantastic trails enjoy the SPA, relax by the pool or just join the private yoga classes. The Ranch has capacity for small number of guests all serviced by large amount of experience professional staff and the incredible chef Jason that creates master meals made to order in the open kitchen from ingredients grown on the farm. The host are the nicest people you ever meet.

Our time at Echo Valley this past weekend was as good as life gets anytime, anywhere. There are many components contributing to what makes Echo Valley so special but first and foremost are the owners and the crew. It is a treat to feel such a welcomed and honoured guest; all cares and woes slip away as you relax in the beauty, comfort and warmth. Chef Jason creates gourmet meals with a selection that can please all tastes and he is most accommodating with any special dietary requirements. The accommodations are comfortable and lack for nothing. The activities are plentiful with instruction provided where need be and fun to be had when attempting to do them. Finishing off a day with a massage from either Yalaporn or Wanna is luxurious. We were there for 3 nights and I recommend 4 minimum to have 3 full days. How else to also fit in relaxing on the deck and/or playing shuffleboard and pool! I could write more but perhaps the best way to end the review is to encourage you to go and experience it yourselves; you will not be disappointed.

We managed to travel there mid-august 2021. Kristen was super accommodating when booking as I was unsure about road closures and (unfortunately) wildfire smoke. We lucked out and it is truly a beautiful and peaceful place to be. Special thanks to all the staff--the owners are very lucky to have staff who are so sincere in ensuring guests have an amazing time there. Special thanks to Mike, who allowed my teen with an unanticipated broken foot to motor around the ranch in a very fun way, and Darrel, a real survivor mountain type guy who had a lot a patience and was quite sweet natured. Highly highly recommend. If you are looking for a retreat from the busyness of city life, this is the place to be. Would recommend at least 3 full days.

We stayed at Echo Valley in mid June for four nights. We were absolutely delighted from the moment we arrived! The setting is gorgeous, the landscape, the cabins, main lodge and all the other buildings. It is very well manicured, but appropriately rustic at the same time. The staff welcomed us warmly as did the border collies, who were a little unsure at first about our dog who traveled with us, but they all sorted it out. Every staff member was a delight to get to know. They made us feel like family or a treasured friend.
My husband and I tried nearly every activity between us. Hiking, horse harmony, yoga, massage, fly fishing, marksmanship, archery, canyon tour, survival spirit, biking. I think the only things we missed were mediation and gold panning. It worked out well for us to be able to sometimes pursue different experiences that suited us and know the other was also enjoying a different adventure. The Thai yoga and massage were very different from anything I'd experienced and were great! I loved the horse harmony and ride so much that my husband and I went back for a second horse harmony experience without the ride. The canyon tour is quite a ride with amazing views and Darryl has great knowledge and stories of the area. I could go on and on!
We enjoyed the family style seating at meals and a chance to get to know Norm, Nan and Mike. The food was excellent! Mike, Emily, Darryl, Wanna, Roberto and Aydee were all delightful and all were ready to guide us in any activity we wanted to try.
You will want to stay 3 nights at the very least. We stayed 4 and are going back for 7 nights this fall. I think that says it all. HIGHLY recommend!

It was absolutly worth it to travel up the gravel road with our RV… We stayed two nights at EVR and we felt like home.
The whole team was a blast and it was so much fun spending the days with them. Andy, Mia, Troy and Darrel did an amazing job showing us around and made our stay an adventure with shooting, fishing, hiking and riding.
The whole Thai Crew did a delicious Thai Dinner for us, we had a very relaxing massage and nice morning Yoga lessions!
Kim the Chef - what should we say.. the food you served us was excellent!
Thanks to Norm and the whole crew for having us! The spirit you have there is unique and we absolutely loved it!

Hello, yes we still have availability. Please send us an email and we're happy to send you a quote and check availability.
Hi Michael,
thanks for your question! Early September is a great time to come to the ranch, especially if you are travelling without kids. Our family weeks are in July and August, and outside of that time we are adult-oriented (13+). All activities are available in September, the days are warm and sunny and the nights are cool - and it's always a busy month for us! All the best for now, Kerstin
Hi Vincent
We thank you for your interest in Echo Valley Ranch & Spa.
Please do tell us about the type and nature of your dog since it is usual for our guest dogs to play with our border collies, of which we have six, and at night time the guest dog sleeps in the owners cabin.
We have never been asked about having someone look after a guest dog before so please do let us know of any concerns you may have.
Please also note that we have many other animals at our ranch including cats, horses and cows and as such we need some assurance that guest dogs will not harass them, I am sure you will understand.
Vincent, we look forward to your response.
Best Regards
Norm Dove
