Our second reposeful stay at this Cove in a cottage, this time the “Pubnico” with loft. Fully equipped cabins overlooking the water with decks, fully equipped and cosy at best prices in the south shore. Family run, attention to cleanliness and comfort with friendly accessibility for any needs. Only several kilometres from town with amenities. Shelburne county and close to beaches, seafood, harbours and still totally immersed in a wooded area with very quiet surroundings. Suitable for families, groups or just individuals needing a rest from the road. Enjoy the surroundings and comfort in NS at this haven.

On the road to Roseway Beach in Churchover are 5 little cottages, each named after a village in the south shore. We stayed in the “Birchtown” 2 bedroom, jacuzzi tub bath and fully contained kitchen. Deck overlooks cove and owners allow use of canoe and kayak as well as fishing rods. It was a very clean and cozy cottage with tv, and wifi. After staying at the dingiest motels in town for the same price I vowed never to stay at one again! Boulder Cove will be our go to retreat in all future ventures to NS. Proximity to the Black History museum (very modern) and to town of Shelburne. Clyde River has a restaurant called Anchors Aweigh with seafood selections.

Weve been here numerous times and absolutely love it. We were surprised to see a horse there this year (which i loved) but the poop horsey smell was bad. We got used to it and it wasnt too bad after a day. I cannot say enough about the owner of this place...shannon is always helpful and will go above and beyond to make your stay special. Boulder cove is our go-to get away place. So quiet and beautiful. Cant wait to visit again.

So glad you enjoyed your stay. Sorry about Ellie May and her smell...Wind direction and the heat wave do not help with her smells. lol. Glad to see you back and hope you have safe travels in the mean time so we can see you again.

This is one of those serendipitious hotel finds that make a good vacation GREAT. We saw the signs on the side of the highway as we travelled the Lighthouse route down the South Shore of Nova Scotia. Without too much difficulty, we made our way down the steep winding road to the office of this little resort. There are five cottages sitting on the ocean across from Shelburne. For $100/night we stayed in the Pubnico cottage, a gorgeous little A-frame with loft, bedroom, satellite TV, huge soaker tub with jets and fully equipped kitchen. The real treat is the Vacation Bible, a binder the owner leaves on the kitchen table for visitors. It has details about everything you can do while visiting the area, instructions on how to use everything in the cabin, and menus for local restaurants. The cabin also has beach toys, games, fire pit and waterfront access to the bouldered beach. Free laundry facilities are also available, as well as use of bikes, paddle boat and canoe. The beds were overly firm, but that is the ONLY thing that is lacking. What an amazing vacation spot.

Spent 3 nights here but could have spent way longer. The cottages are nestled in the most serene location on cliffs overlooking the ocean. Cottages were spacious, clean and had all the necessary amenities for cooking. Little touches to decore made it feel very homey. Great trail for running or walking. Access to laundry was appreciated. Got up early one morning and used a kayak (free to guests) and paddled an hour or so down the shoreline past small fishing wharves and a few homes. A great way to start the day! The cottages were very affordable and incredible value. We were in the area working on a research project and staying 2 to a cottage was the best accommodation deal around.

We just spent the Easter long weekend at Boulder Cove. The cottage was very clean and comfortable. The view of the water was spectacular. We had everything we needed to BBQ at night and cook breakfast in the morning. We came expressly to relax and do as little as possible. It was very quiet and when you walked down the trails it was so secluded you felt like you were the only people on earth. We brought our dog who had a great time as well. The property is very dog-friendly. The owner's 3 dogs are usually strolling about the property as well.

If I had to complain about something it'd be that the shower stall was incredibly tiny. The bathroom was very large with a sky light over a huge two-person jet tub. However, I'm one of those people that never could relax in a bath so that left the miniscule shower stall. If I were any bigger I don't know that I would have fit...and drop the soap...you're out of luck unless you want to open the door...lol.

We'd definitely like to come back. It'd be loads of fun to come with some friends and rent a couple cottages. Each cottage had it's own fire pit area and there was enough space between the buildings that you didn't feel like you were staring at your neighbours. They had bikes/boats/board games all available for use. I especially loved that they had a small laundry room on site and you could pop in and exchange your towels for fresh without having to wait or ask.

It was a great spot to getaway and I'd recommend it to anyone.

These cabins are well equipped and could not be in a more beautiful location! The views and surroundings are breathtaking. The cabin has a great fire pit and a BBQ on the generous deck. Dogs roam freely around the property. There's even satellite tv in case of rain. The cabin was spotless. It's a great get-away spot, quiet and peaceful. We left with a booking for my parents to return on their anniversary!

We spent three nights at Boulder Cove Cottages in August 2011. We'd been to the general area before and were attracted by the rural location.
The cottage was beautiful. Clean, great size and everything was there that we needed. Free Wi-fi was a great extra and they provided a laundry room, bikes and boats plus the manager lives on site. We've stayed at other places that are 'un-manned' and we much preferred that the manager was there.
We saw Osprey and Chipmunks and the managers dogs were so sweet and friendly!
We knew that the access road was hilly but our rental Cadillac managed it with no problems.
This is a fantastic, very good value, place to stay on the rural part of the South Shore. We will definately return if we pass that way again .... such a shame that we can't spend some weekends there (we're from the UK)

Pretty fab. Beautiful parcel of land. Great cottage (pubnico). Pretty well stocked and the staff is very nice. My kids have appreciated the trampoline while my husband and I have appreciated the tranquility. This is a great place to relax if you just want to hang around, or if you want to use the property as a landing pad from which to explore the quiet south shore. Beaches close by. As are shopping and sites of historical significance.
