Detailed Reviews
We arrived after Labour Day and so got to enjoy having the grounds mostly to ourselves. Felix met us when we arrived, after that it was mostly ourselves, the only down side to that was the pool being unheated in late season, twas too cold for me.
The two horses were always a pleasure to look out on, and one time i saw a large covey of partridge along the fence. Looking across at North Rustico was always a pleasure, especially as the last light lingers on there. Moon rise beautiful in same direction. You could see the kites from surfers zipping by in the distance. From 'the deck' restaurant in N Rustico you could see back to the cottage in the distance if you knew where to look. The cabin was spacious, only complaint was that I had to be close to the laundry room to get wifi to hang in. Being just a couple of minutes to the north rustico general store/bakery/seafood shop and liquor store was a bonus as well as just a good location in general for getting about PEI. The bike lane was being added as was fresh asphalt on a lot of PEI roads.
a lot of the TA questions re public areas do not apply to this property.

These are not new cottages, but the interior was clean, neat and modern. Our cottage was a duplex with a kitchen, sitting room, bathroom, and bedroom. We didn't hear the people who were on the other side during our last night but smelled their cooking brats on the grill outside the back door! The location is quiet as were the grazing horses in the acreage behind us. It was a pleasant view. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed. There was no room service during our 3 nights, but plenty of towels so we didn't need it. I personally dislike carpet in lodgings and appreciated the wood and vinyl floors. The grocery store and restaurants are close by and the major tourist attractions not more than a half hour or less away. Many attractions and businesses were closed (early October), but we were able to visit all the Anne of Green Gables/Montgomery sites and were glad to miss what is probably a huge influx of summer tourists! The driveway was a little difficult to find in the dark until we noted the reflectors. The manager, Felix, was friendly and gave us his contact information. When we needed to call, he answered. I would stay there again.

We had one of the one bedroom cottages. It’s well equipped inside and clean. We were a short walk across to the pool which was welcome on hot days. There are a couple of restaurants, cafe , shop and post office about a mile away and more decent restaurants at Rustico Harbour. Easy drives to Cavendish (Anne of Green Gables) and Charlottetown. The beach at Brackley is lovely.

The cottage is very cute and cozy. The host - Emma was very friendly and great and helped w/ any concerns.
The water was not always hot - but Emma did her best to help w/ making sure we get as much hot water as possible.
Overall a good spot to stay - it is close to PEI national park, close to Anne of Green Gables sites and just a 30mins drive from downtown.

I recently stayed at Dreamweavers 1 bedroom cottage. I totally enjoyed my stay there. Had an oceanview, and I can't say enough about the air massage tub. It was the best whirpool tub I have ever been in and I have been in a few. I would recommend anyone to stay here.

Thank you for this wonderful review! We have found that many of the guests really enjoy the air massage tubs. They are the Ultra Bain brand and are made in Quebec. They are considered top of the line and provide a very relaxing massage tub without the buttons that the water tubs have that can be kind of annoying. Our honeymooners really love them! So if you are looking for a second honeymoon....or just a nice get-a-way like this customer we suggest you try them out.

We just spent 3 days at Dreamweaver's Cottages in Rusticoville & loved it ! First impressions of the cottages exteriors may not impress but step inside and you find spacious, attractive, clean and well-equipped cottages. This location is ideal - just minutes from the Anne of Green Gables historic site & the world-famous Cavendish Beach. A delightful village, New Glasgow is nearby which has the Prince Edward Preserve Co. - also has a cafe which serves excellent food. Also we recommend the New Glasgow lobster suppers - excellent. we have traveled extensively and in the cottage category, we found this establishment to be excellent! we would definitely stay here again.

Does not live up to the website description, from the reception desk located in a room filled with junk to the non-availability of anyone to help with information. We stayed in a colttage that was quite spacious but not clean. The brown towels ran with brown dye when wet. Cobwebs and dust bunnies along baseboards, non-functioning jacuzzi and laundry room next door made our experience less than what we paid for. This is camping out at B&B prices. Probably a satisfactory place to stop with a camping family to do your laundry and sleep in a bed. But if you want a relaxing cottage experience, there are so many lovely places on PEI with responsive friendly proprietors at lower prices, why stay here?

It is unfortunate that this guest did not take the time to contact us with any of her concerns. I realize that she may have been struggling with the time change as she had flown in from the West coast. The guest laundromat hours are posted as 9 until 9 and our guests adhere to it for the most part. If a guest was doing laundry outside those hours we could have removed it or put it through our work laundry. Of course 9 am PEI time is 5 am BC time. Just after this guest was here for her two night stay one of the other guests asked us for the older white towels as the new chocolate brown towels were still shedding lint. We had washed the new towels once before putting them in circulation but apparently they needed to go through the washer and dryer twice to remove excess fluff. After reading this review I took a look around our reception area and this is what I saw. Sand toys, kid's wall art, over 300 free movies, tourism literature, my messy desk, cots and cribs and a shelf full of extras for the guests to borrow- lobster pots, slow cooker, cookie sheets, BBQ lighters etc. We also keep back-up appliances in the office in case one should break down when the store isn't open for us to replace it- toasters, kettles, coffee makers etc. When this customer booked I made an exception to our minimum four night stay rule that applies in July and August. I also upgraded her to a two bedroom which has the big double air massage tub at no additional charge. Our air massage tubs are top of the line and in thirteen years of running Dreamweavers we have not had one night when any of the tubs were not functional. It's too bad the guest didn't call us on the toll free number for advice on how to press the buttons or refer to the manual which is kept in the bedside table drawer next to the tub. That tub also had a brand new set of taps installed in the spring. The evening of this guest's arrival I was celebrating our 30th anniversary at a dinner party with my husband and daughters who were home from Calgary. My right hand gal lives two minutes away from the property and is fully capable of handling check-ins. We are never far away(in fact I sleep with my cell phone by my bed in case a guest needs anything in the night) and would have been more than happy to address any problems had we been advised of them. However with only five cottages and two vacation homes we aren't able to provide 24 hour front desk service. We are a 3.5 star Canada Select property and have been selected continuously as a Quality Incentive Program property, which exemplifies the level of quality and cleanliness visitors to our beautiful province have come to expect. We are often complimented on the cleanliness of our units by the guests. That's not to say that we are perfect and occasionally dust balls may get missed. As manager I would have been more than happy to respond and address this guest's issues had I had the opportunity.

Old and dirty. Not worth the money they charge. No one on site most of the time, one fire pit for six cabins. Each should have their own in my opinion. Major updating needed. Would not stay again based on the unit cleanliness of the cabin. Couch and chair so old you can literally see the dirt on them. Curtains old and stained. Floors are awful.beds also old as hills. I wouldn't take my shoes off the whole time. No one at service desk. Front desk area filthy and ridiculously messy, looks like a garage sale or something.

Responded Sep 27, 2016
Thank you for taking the time to post a review. As the manager of Dreamweavers, I would like to address some of the issues you had with your stay. When guests arrive they are given a “welcome” sheet with all the contact info, as well as other pertinent information, so they don’t have to remember everything we tell them about when they first arrive. The contact numbers are also posted on the office door. As my cell phone is practically attached to my hip, I’m not hard to find, if no-one is in the office. Dreamweavers has been recognized for 17 years for excellence in cleanliness and maintenance under the Quality Incentive Program run by the provincial government inspectors. We hire experienced conscientious cleaners and would never expect guests to stay in the conditions described. We are also a 3.5 star property under the very particular Quality Tourism Services program (out of 5 stars. We have 4 stars for the house.) Most guests have very positive comments about the cleanliness and hard work our cleaners put in to make their stay comfortable. I’m sorry that was not your experience. Our office is located in a sun-porch and yes, it has lots of stuff in it, all for the guests use and/or comfort. We have big a shelf full of ‘extras’ for cooking- everything from a slow cooker to cake pans for birthday parties, lobster pots and a spare bbq propane tank, to picnic sets and martini glasses. The guests help themselves from the extras shelf and return for the next person’s use. We also have cots, pack’n’plays, tons of movies and tourism literature. If we sold it all at a yard sale, we’d probably do quite well, as the extras represent a significant investment on our part to help our guests have an experience that is close to the comforts of home. Many guests comment that they have never stayed at a cottage property where so many cooking and comfort extras are offered. We also provide passes to the National Park beaches for the guests to use during their stay. Since most of the beaches on the central north shore of the Island are managed by the National Park (Cavendish, Rustico Harbour, Brackley etc.) the guests really appreciate not having to pay every time they enter the Park. This appears to be the same review that was posted on another booking agency two months ago (which I am not able to respond to). As far as I know, I have not had direct contact with you or an opportunity to rectify the situation and/or offer a more suitable unit (if available) or discount coupon for another stay. However, I wish you well and hope that, you can let go of what was, unfortunately, a negative experience for you. Vicki

In extreme disrepair. Ceilings in every room have peeling paint. Walls in bedroom were filthy. Walls have peeling paint and holes. Couch and chair smell bad. The cottage itself smells really bad of mold/mildew. The floor by the door to the deck is so badly water damaged it is spongy. No covers on some of the electrical outlets. Rusted microwave on interior and exterior. Rusted ceiling fixture in bathroom. Locks do not work properly, no door chain lock, no keys for dead bolt lock Jetted tub is not wired to code and requires one to use the GFI switch to turn on, very dangerous. Bed is uncomfortable and squeaks loudly everytime you move. Deck needs replacing, patio furniture was filthy, table was rusting BBQ no hooked up. The pool was dirty, bottom of pool covered with leaves. Grass was was not cut or trimmed. The skirting on the exterior of the cottages were rotting, allowing for critters to get under, and the sills were also rotting in places. The cottages were in need of exterior paint and maintenance. The lobby where you check in was originally the front pirch of the house, it was full of junk and untidy, not very welcoming. We as well as Expedia tried to get hold of owner that evening with no luck he was unresponsive. The next morning Expedia finally was able to reach him. He refused to refund us for the first night and would only refund us if we removed our google review. Then he refused to refund our credit card we paid with stating he couldn't remember his pin and could not call the company as his English was not good enough. He wanted us to wait for 3 hours....it was a nightmare, it was only when we threatened to call in the police that he agreed to refund us in cash. It ruined our holiday plans. I would highly suggest you avoid this place, the pictures they have posted online DO NOT REPRESENT the REALITY of this DUMP.

I decided to rent this cottage for the weekend (Friday night to Sunday morning) after I proposed to my girlfriend. I bought the romance package and I must say we had the greatest time ever. It was a really affordable package and a lot of stuff came along with the room. The package included a bouquet a roses, Avonlea chocolates, candles, and a free breakfast for two at the preserve company (which is really amazing). I had rented a cottage that had a whirlpool tub and a big bed (it was very comfortable). There were even rose petals on the bed! The owner and workers were amazing and we even had their numbers to call them in case we needed something. I loved the fact that the reception area had FREE boardgames and FREE DVDs. There was a wide selection of pamphlets available too...If you don't know what to do, these are great to give you ideas! The cottage itself was up to our expectation and we were really satisfied. I liked the fact that it was cozy (you don't get the feeling your in an hotel room). If we go back....When we go back to P.E.I, we'll go back to Dreamweaver's for sure!

Sorry for the delay in responding. The fall of 2014 was an unusually tough as my husband got a critical health diagnosis on Labour Day, so I'm afraid the responses to all the wonderful reviews got overlooked. But I want to say thank you and I truly appreciate your comments! September 29th is my birthday so I should have celebrated your kind comments! Vicki
