The owner had the audacity to say we destroyed the room lol. I should send them a bill for cleaning it. It was absolutely disgusting. We left it in better shape then when we arrived. They may have been mad that we used a towel and they had to clean it. The floors were so dirty sheets had an awful smell lipstick on mugs. Wish we had more time to research before we stayed. The owner was rude and treats his staff awful. He should be sued. Maybe he will be...... He should be ashamed. I will absolutely pass this along and only hope it goes out of business. I can't say in words how horrified I am. There is on the other hand an amazing amazing hotel not 10 minutes down the road with friendly accommodating owners, so clean and so beautiful marmalade hotel. Highly recommended. Please don't give this rude "man" your business.…
I recently stayed at the Fairwinds and what a dive. Everything is outdated, dirty, broken, smelled musty, very disappointed. The walls have all these notes taped to the walls (how tacky). The bed covers were torn. Dead bugs on floor. Leaky toilet. Hairs on floor. Curtains in shambles.Towel rack fell apart when I grabbed for a towel. Even the tv was filthy. Not to mention the water is tainted and they have signs that the water is dangerous to drink which made me so paranoid to even open my mouth in the shower. $115 wasted. Do not stay here!!! And I bet the conditions in their kitchen are even worse. Yuk. I should have slept in my vehicle.
Went to eat while getting tires put on my car. Excellent food, was pretty quick to get to me, the waitress was amazing always checking in. Would definitely Recommend. Very affordable and good atmosphere.
My husband and I were travelling for a few days along the Eastern Shore in Nova Scotia on our vacation, doing some outdoor activities and staying in one of the campgrounds nearby. We were desperate for some home-cooked breakfast, and the only place open for miles in either direction after Labour Day was Fairwinds! We were so happy to find them open, and the breakfast was simple but delicious - we ate here 2 separate mornings. The folks who waited on us were so nice, and we would recommend any one travelling in the area make a stop here. It's an old school motel and restaurant with a fantastic view on the water in Sheet Harbour.
I led a group of six here and spent a night. The beds were not super-comfortable, and that would be generous for the pillows, but it was very clean and comfortable for a one-night's stay. The owner Ralph, is awesome. His Ralph Special for breakfast was a special treat, and the time he spent with our group was cherished by all.
