My wife and I ate at the Crown last Friday evening and very much enjoyed the experience. The menu is good value pub fare topped up with some interesting specials. The staff were both professional and friendly. Apparently the owners have only had the pub for a couple of months but they seem to be off to a good start.

Staying close by and found by luck. Food was excellent, good complaint some found it too much. Varying meal which suited everyone's requirements. Worth the visit. Staff were pleasant and attentive. Will return when in the area again. It is possible to stay in the Inn but did not stay this time.

The Crown Inn is under new management and the new manager has revamped the menus and service in the pub. It is a small country pub with rooms right on the southern edge of the Lake District in High Newton. Our room was large with nice modern furnishings and a pretty view of the village green. The service was very...

We went as a group of 10 for a meal and drinks, with children and dogs, and were made to feel very welcome. The food was all lovely, the service was exceptionally friendly and helpful, and the beer was good too. Well done, considering it was a big group that dropped by with only about an hours notice.

Stayed May 2016, a warm welcome by all the staff (under new management apparently). Nice old country pub, our room was a bit small but had everything we needed, well equipped en-suite bathroom, TV ( not always a good signal). Nice view of this lovely little village from our bedroom window at the front of the pub. Food was nice...

We booked a long weekend break at The Crown Inn after visiting a few times over the years for meals. This is a wonderful relaxing pub in a lovely little village, with a friendly welcome everytime. Our room was comfy and the facilities excellent. The food is superb and the drinks many and varied. This is a very popular pub...

My son booked himself and I in here for a one night stay using booking.com whilst he was in the Lakes on business and I could go walking. Unfortunately, the owners had cause to remove their tenant manager and his staff the previous day and they did not have access to the computerised booking system and as a consequence were...

This was a stopover on our way up to Scotland and was booked fairly late. Brilliant choice as it worked out. We were welcomed by Colin who made us feel at home straight away. A nice fire going and we were closely looked after by Andrea who was working between restaurant and bar. Both of them were amazing. We thoroughly...

Stayed at The Crown for one night this weekend following a last minute decision to get away. We had stayed there previously over a year ago and although delighted with the Inn itself, the location and the room, the Manager and the food left a lot to be desired. But due to the very reasonable rate we opted to give...
