Hotel is in a good situation for a skiing holiday can ski from the hotel down to the piste (have to stop to cross a road) and can ski back from the piste. Room was excellent clean and comfortable. Meals all excellent, well prepared and a good choice. Staff all helpful and friendly. Reasonably priced. In all perfect.

Thought-through details (such as ski-box for every room), big and clean rooms. Nice and large wellness area. Helpful and friendly staff. Well located hotel for family skiing, with easy optionality between Hochwurzen and Planai.

I used to come here as a child - my grandmother lived up the hill and this hotel is where we stayed. I came back this year for the first time in ages, and it's every bit as charming as back in the day, and now, even more so. The rooms are bright, clean, crisp and extremely comfortable - I...

As part of our skiing vacation we visited the Alpenhotel Waldfrieden in Schladming-Rohrmoos for an evening dinner (we actually enjoyed it so much that we came back again). For guests not staying in the hotel dining is available in cozy “Zirbenstube”. As I had relatively moderate expectations about what the café like Zirbenstube with a relatively limited menu card could...

What an experience staying at this hotel. Nice rooms, good food ( too much!)and a wonderful staff creating a wonderful atmosphere. Good fun with our excellent waiter Martin. No wonder the Norwegian alpine skiing team have used this hotel for the last 17 years as their base when World Cup/World championship take place in Schladming. We are sure to be...

We stayed as a couple in this family hotel. This was not our first time, we have been here before. I should say about nine times over the past twenty years. Over the years the Stocker family have invested in the hotel, more rooms, new elevator, a swimming pool, large fitness room, relax room, upgraded the wellness, a garden room,...

The Hotel has maintained its high standards of hospitality, facilities and altogether friendliness in this family run hotel. The snow conditions were great dispite little snow on arrival (they have worked the slopes well and it was light fluffy snow,...

We returned from Rohrmoos just up the mountain outside of Schladming. Rohrmoos is a very small village set at about 1000m asl and has access to lovely pistes and scenery. The Hotel is situated directly on the slopes so your can ski in and out whenever you want. The Stocker family own and run the hotel. It is exceptionally well...

This was the 2nd time my husband and I (ages 47& 34, no kids) stayed at Waldfrieden, the first time was in the summer of 2008. Even back then, the food and service was already very good. When we returned this year for a ski holiday, the owners had made improvements to the wellness area to include a heated pool...

My husband and i (ages 27&30, no kids) visited the Waldfrieden Alpenhotel for the first time in January 2008 and we were genuinely impressed with the hotel, its staff and the service we received. It is a family run hotel (as many Austrian hotels are) and the pride they have in providing an excellent holiday destination to their guests is...
