The cultural crossbreeding of the Casa del Corregidor displays an andalusian character, with latticework and a courtyard. Many of the rooms overlook a splendid landscape filled with art, nature and history. The flowery tiling enlivers the wood of the furniture and the ochre of the terraces.

Having lived in Arcos for more than 15 years and been to the Parador many times to eat and enjoy the ambience with friends, I had never stayed there. I decided to take advantage of the offer for residents of Arcos to stay there at a reduced rate whilst the town is in lockdown. Fantastic decision, the staff were very friendly, nothing was too much trouble. They were scrupulous in their sanitisation and I felt very safe. The room was fabulous, very spacious and amazing views of the surrounding countryside. Definately going back before the offer ends. I would highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for that something extra special.

The hotel is situated in the old town with a good view of the surrounding countryside. The hotel is looking a bit tired but the room we had was recently refurbished and was a superior room. We knew that parking was difficult and access is also difficult through very narrow streets. Our car was damaged by someone else parking in the square. Breakfast is good and dinner also good. The staff are local and are a little lacking in remembering the check in procedure. Great place to stay but remember the airconditioning does not go on till summer.

We have visited 6 Paradors in Spain and always appreciate the old, traditional ones the most, despite the inevitable problems with electrics, plumbing, and older furniture. They are lovingly tended to and the service is always great. This one is no exception. We were inspired to visit this one because of a Rick Steve's t.v. program about Arcos de la Frontera. He greatly over stated the attraction of this place, and failed to mention the fact that the few attractions here: churches and museums, are all closed through at least the middle if March. He (and the Parador web site) also failed to mention the extreme difficulty in reaching the public parking lot in front of the Parador. The roads are so narrow that you're very lucky to get through without a scratch or bumping off an ambling tourist. On top of that, we were guided to a parking space by a man who informed us that parking was €5 per night. We were dubious, but nevertheless handed over €10 for our 2 night stay. The front desk lady was furious when she heard about it, and kept repeating "It's free! That man! That man! The police should be here!" Etc...So it is obvious this scam is well known to them. Their guests should be advised accordingly. The only other complaint we had is that even in February the sun can heat up the South facing rooms (i.e. the upgraded rooms with views). The air conditioning has not yet been put on, indeed even heat was still being piped into the room, making it too warm for comfort. The dining areas are all lovely, with good food and drink. Especially the inside courtyard at this time of year. Beautiful outside terrace was too hot with no sun umbrellas to shelter you from the sun. Beautiful at sunset, however!

Response from Parador Arcos, Atención al cliente/recepción at Parador Arcos de la Frontera
Responded Feb. 25, 2020
Dear customers, We thank you very much for your words after your experience at Arcos de la Frontera. In February, it is still cold every year in Arcos, but the week you have been there has been a spring time (climate change). Until March we do not install the cold air conditioning and the umbrellas of the terraces since I repeat that it is always cold until then and very windy. We are always watching the gorrilas and we warn the Police but when they go up they hide and when the Police march they go out again to deceive everyone who accesses the Plaza to park. Ideally, leave the car in the parking lot at the entrance to Arcos as indicated when you made the reservation. It is a private parking lot that we have an agreement with them and there is a special reduction for Parador customers Thank you for your trust in Paradores! Receive a warm greeting The Manager

Do not trust Sat Nav or Apple Maps or Google maps to get you to or from Arcos and the Paradore. Wonderful location though. Breakfast is a bit limited - not much hot food just omelettes Dinner menu was confusing.

Response from paradorarcos, Director General at Parador Arcos de la Frontera

Dear customers, We thank you for your opinion about your experience at the Parador. Just inform them that in the breakfast buffet we have daily different types of tortillas (vegetables such as leek and zucchini, other potatoes), egg whites to taste, as well as bacon, white rice, crumbs, churros and green peppers among others . On the other hand, the Parador Menu is the menu itself so that the client can have a wider offer and ask for anything, there are only two dishes that have a supplement but that can also be requested. Perhaps it is not entirely well explained or the waiters did not explain it correctly. Thank you for your trust in Tourism Paradores! Receive a warm greeting The Manager
