We loved our stay in this beautifully located hotel particularly with the superb views from the terrace. Having a drink there on a hot summer evening with the hotel's home made croquetas and first rate cheese was a memorable experience. Friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast.

How many hotels offer you a fino with olives on arrival, gratis? We needed it after negotiating the narrow streets of Arcos - even in a Fiat 500! We stayed in room Pen Ultima (it was our last night in Spain coincidentally) which looked out over the cliff with the same view as the parador. The room was immaculate &...

Dear Coleswood, Thanks for your kind comments and descriptions. These makes us really happy and helps us to improve day by day. We count on a fantastic location, which makes it worth going through the narrow streets of the town. Best regards from Arcos! La Casa Grande

We stayed three nights in July. The style and decor at La Casa Grande are wonderful. We stayed in La Suite (3 people) and found nothing to complain about. It is well apportioned, beds are comfortable and the bathroom, while small, incompletely fine. The downstairs public areas are simply stunning. Breakfast was good, though we must admit, a little expensive...

Dear Billpritchard, Thanks a lot for your comments. It is true that sometimes Arcos has little to offer, but fortunately, in summer this changes and there are a few options to choose for eating, people in the streets, flamenco concerts. We are glad you could come in July when Arcos shows its friendly face, apart form its own beauty. Kind...

We stayed at la Casa Grande for a week and really enjoyed our stay. The hotel in itself is finely preserved, as well as beautifully decorated. The room was comfortable, with a large terrace from which we had a terrific view. The staff (and especially Elena) was very friendly and helpful. Be sure to try the breakfast, you're in for...

4 American Ladies in Spain and this was one of the most memorable places we stayed. The 2 downstairs rooms were assigned to us - we had our own balconies and patios below and a magnificent view of the countryside. The steep cliff drop below the rooms is not noticeable until you walk down to river and look back up...

Our family of 7, ages 65 to 4 had the privilege and joy of staying at La Casa Grande for 3 wonderful nights recently. From the very young to the old, everyone in our party was delighted with this hotel. We stayed in the 2 roof top rooms and La Suite. It is an incredibly special boutique hotel, with much...

Dear WildHorses101, It was our pleasure to host you and your lovely family those days and it is a honor that a special family like yours with such wide knowledge of the world catched the little details of La Casa Grande and appreciated them so much. Spent one night here in this mysterious hotel. Met by the lovely owner with a glass of sherry. Our room was downstairs with its own mirador. What a view and dramatic on the edge of the sheer cliff. The room was a bit chilly and a little damp initially but I still think this hotel is worth visiting and staying...

I started mentally composing this review as I lay awake at 3am in La Casa Grande, tossing and turning in the damp, musty bed and being munched on by mosquitos. This hotel has some charm, surely, and all the staff members were quite helpful and pleasant. But the stuffy, wet conditions of the downstairs rooms are to be avoided at...

Dear JPH510, First of all we would like to thank you for your general commentaries and particularly for the highlights of La Casa Grande. Unfortunately these did not revoke you feeling of being like "prisoners in a million-euro view jail". We are very welcome to dialogue and like listening to our guests opinion. We regret you said nothing about your...

We just got back from a week in Andalusia. We spent a couple of nights in 'la Casa Grande' and loved our stay there mainly driven by i) location (right in the middle of Arcos' old town), ii) charming rooftop terrace with fantastic views where we spent some time reading at sunset, iii) magic breakfast with classical music in the...

There are several things that make La Casa Grande "not worth it"! 1) They need to do a lot of basic maintenance! The door to our room only opened a third of the way because it sags on the frame. The man that showed us our room didn't seem to care when he had to force the door open enough...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
This old mansión in Arcos de la Frontera has preserved the rustic spirit of the palaces from the Cadiz mountain range. In 1729, the Nuñez de Prado family built this "señorial" house at the heart of the town. In 1998, Elena Posa, fell in love with the house, and settled here determined to respect its authenticity but at the same time living in her own style, and she has transformed it into a small, quiet, and unique hotel. ... more   less
