I’ve never been to a fishing lodge or even driven a boat, but with boys 21 and 13 and a daughter in the middle my window for full family vacations is quickly closing so I did some research and found Brennan Harbour. With my parents joining us, we were a cozy cabin of 7. It wasn’t’ fancy, but everyone had a bed, (2 rooms with 2 single beds, one with a double and a better than expected couch). They have 9 cabins and all have a water view. Our package included the cabin and 2 boats. We opted to cook our own meals, but they have a meal plan option too and when we were near the main lodge the kitchen smelled awesome.

We also bought boat insurance (I’d never driven one before and it was not expensive). We bought worms and fuel both for a similar price as they were in the community. We also hired a guide (Trevor was also a resort employee so he was a familiar face all week) for the 1st morning to ensure we got on the fish and to ensure I was comfortable driving the boat. Boat was pretty basic aluminum boat with a 20 HP motor, lifejackets, net, safety kit and fish finder.

You could upgrade to a nicer one with a 40HP motor for an additional charge, but I thought that was a waste for a rookie like me.

We were provided a map of the like area with suggested fishing locations, but we went to some different spots as recommended by Trevor and hardly saw anyone else. Fishing was ok in the morning, great from 630-dark except the day after the thunder-storm – fish don’t like lightening? We caught some pickerel, many bass and pike and even though we had 2 giant all we could eat fish fry’s, we still brought some home. The best part – they clean the fish for you! Pike is an excellent tasting fish when you aren't picking bones out of every bite!

The cabin had running water, hot shower, flush toilet and electricity with free decent wifi, or high speed for a fee– we did the free one and even with all my kids on it, the only day they couldn’t do what they wanted was the day of the storm.

Kitchen is fully equipped (plates/cutlery/utensils/serving bowls/full size fridge and stove/microwave/toaster/coffee maker) but next year we will bring a larger frying pan and large jugs of bottled water for coffee (the water from the cabin made the coffee taste funny). Use of a shared BBQ and fish fry station, picnic tables and lawn chairs. There is a well stocked grocery store, small variety store and liquor store right off the road the resort is on and everyone we met was very happy to see us.

My wife and daughter are not much for fishing, but they read, hiked and went to the beach. The staff, owners and other guests were all very friendly.

We weren't even out of the parking lot when my kids started talking about next year!

We’ve gone to this camp in June and again in July for 12-13 years. Fishing is exceptional, the cabins are comfortable and the hosts won’t quit until you are well cared for. In 50 years of fishing in Ontario, I’ve been most satisfied and felt most at home here.

We've stayed here for several years and find the accomodations, productive fishing, and helpful staff to be very satisfactory. This year, they outdid themselves... during our week's stay, our car battery totally died. Since it's a rather remote area, I was concerned about getting a replacement battery. The staff checked several places and found a source. They sent a staff member to pick it up, then installed it for us. Many businesses will tell you that they value customers, but these folks absolutely prove it beyond a doubt.

We will be back next year!

We booked a week from Aug 28-Sept 4/2021 Why they call it a resort is beyond me? Nothing to do but fish.No amenities ,no food,no nothing yet for what they charge for there cabins is beyond ridiculous.3 guys,5 nights $1,800,boat $420 with upgrade[an extra seat] worms $6.00 gas $80.00 and you pay that when you leave. They nickel & dime you for everything.Fishing was par at best maybe in the spring would be better !! I could have went south all inclusive for an extra $300.Save your money and go elsewhere. PS Not even a tank of gas on them !!

Over the past several years, we've returned to Brennan Harbour Resort for various reasons; the fishing is good, the accommodations suitable, the boats and motors work like a charm. the owners and staff are friendly and will do their best to meet any request. All said, one goes to Brennan Harbour for the fishing and this year the fishing was spectacular!
I've fished off and on for 50 years and without doubt this was my best experience. More pickerel (walleye) and pike than you can count. And, to top it off, the biggest of two species I've ever caught, a 40 inch musky and an 18 inch bass. What better praise can one say about a fishing resort.

We have stayed here several times and find the resort staff great to deal with. They are extremely helpful. WE stayed the first time without the food plan but enjoyed good home cooked food on our second stay in July, 2014. We will do that again and have booked our stay this June, 2015. We just thought the scenery which is exactly like the pictures, was beautiful. Take the upgraded 18 ft boats as they are your better choice. We enjoyed our previous visits and will keep coming back.

Just stopped by for a short while for a family visit, we don't even fish. Doesn't matter, place is amazing. Living too long in the city, it is easy to forget that places like this exist. Beautiful lake surrounded by rocks and trees, such a slice of Canadiana. Lovely owners with dogs I wanted to steal and take home with me! I can still smell the smores over the fire from the last night...

We stayed at Brennan Harbour Resort for a week. The service was excellent. James and Casey were always accommodating as were the rest of the staff - Dave, Matthew, Art, Nancy. They truly took the time to make sure our vacation was just that - a vacation. Fishing was fun, meals were good, and our cabin was cozy. Would definitely visit again!

We have been going to Brennan Harbour for a number of years. James, Casey and staff never disappoint! I highly recommend this resort. The fishing is GREAT, the cabins are clean and spacious... TV in the lodge to watch Hockey, basketball, or just hang out.. Boats are clean and always reliable.. Bait is available.... Fish cleaning BBQ ... Not sure what else to say... I'm hoping COVID lets up a bit so we can get in there this year too

Was intending on showing a visitor to Canada what it was like to experience Northern Ontario, so I found this resort and booked it for a night which included a fishing boat, dinner and breakfast. In the end, my visitor could not make it so instead of cancelling, I brought my wife. The lodge and owners are very welcoming, the cabin small but clean and comfortable. WIFI is sporadic but that is not what this place is about. It was a blustery day but the fishing boat provided was sturdy and stood up to the wavy lake. Maintenance on the boat could have been better since the wiring for the fish finder battery caused it not to function. However we still caught smallmouth bass, pike, rock bass and perch. Dinner was fish (not local), mashed potatoes and coleslaw, and cheesecake for dessert. Breakfast was pancakes, orange juice and coffee. All-in price for two people, boat rental, cabin, dinner and breakfast was $372, so a bit pricey.
