The hotel is located at about 1800 m, the drive over the serpentines is quite an adventure and in winter you don't do it all the time. There is now even a toll of €9, but the hotel pays for it. In winter the snowy landscape is simply magical. However, you have to know that up here you are literally cut off from the outside world. The gondola is not exactly cheap at around €15-18 there and back... The hotel itself has a swimming pool, sauna and 2 infrared cabins. Otherwise there is hardly any entertainment... There are also many families with children who go to bed relatively early. It is just pure relaxation here. The landlady and all the staff are super friendly and accommodating, fulfilling almost every possible wish. The hotel may be getting on in years but it is clean and well maintained. The rooms facing the city and a dining area on the gallery by the window have a breathtaking view. The food is super good including table drinks, breakfast is also OK, could have at least 2 types of cheese... There is also something to eat at lunch, but I hardly took any myself. The price-performance ratio is good. In any case, we felt very comfortable and are happy to come back every year.

The location, as well as the hotel are just beautiful. The food was always very varied and delicious. Everything is very well maintained and clean. The staff is very friendly and the boss is very miserable. We felt immediately welcome and comfortable and overall we had a wonderful and relaxing holiday. We would definitely come back.

Beautiful hotel right on the ski slope. Wellness facilities and all-round catering round off the great experience. The staff are very friendly and Harry's team is always there for you. The ski area is small and easy to navigate and is ideal for families.

The location is thick fine, as well as the facilities, the hospitality and the care.

Nice concept so, that all inclusive. The ski resort is small and therefore easy to return to the hotel.

The room was spacious enough, with a lovely shower. Cleaning every day.

We lacked nothing!

I stayed in Sporthotel Hochlienz from the 23rd to the 27th of July with my husband and teenage son and daughter. We had room 208, a large family room with a balcony where we could enjoy stunning views of the valley and the Dolomites. The hotel owner, Mr. Huber, is so friendly and accommodating. He is relaxed yet highly professional.

All the little extras made a difference. The possibility to make your own packed lunch for example or the lovely "afternoon tea" available free of charge to all guests from 16.00 to 17.00 every afternoon. The food at breakfast and dinner was delicious and healthy. The Austrian wine served at dinner was also very good.

This hotel is ideally located for those looking to relax and enjoy the spectacular nature Tirol has to offer. We went on long walks every day and were spoilt for choice. It was great to get back to the hotel and spend some time in the pool and sauna. A beer on the terrace before dinner is also a treat!

All in all this hotel is a very cosy well run hotel offering super value for money. We will go back next year for a week!

Stayed here for 4 nights but wished I booked for more. Very friendly staff, the owner was extremely helpful and with every meal stopped by and asked if all was good. The food was abundent a day delicious. Rooms clean and you had a warm cosy feeling all around. Very good access to Lienz and other activities in the area. Will definitely return in the coming years.

We first stayed in Sporthotel Hochlienz in July 2014 and had such a great experience that we came back again this summer. Mr. Huber, the owner and manager, is one of the most professional and welcoming hosts we've ever met. The hotel is extremely homely, offering delicious food and very comfortable rooms. Ideal for families. We stayed in room 109, a family room with three beds and a large balcony with a panoramic view of the Lienzer Dolomites.

This hotel is ideally situated for those who like walking and hiking. There are lots of trails for every level and the views and nature in the area is breathtaking. It's wonderful to be able to relax in the sauna, steam room or swimming pool after a long day's walking. Be sure to get back by 16.00 hrs so not to miss the afternoon tea and home made cake.

Great hotel for spring holiday, good was great, personal same, skislopes, cottages, where we lived, too. But, there is no place for chilling, where the smoking is not allowed. When childers are there, everybody is smoking. 👎🏼👎🏼 For me, it's awful. Me, my parrent, friend, family are nosmokers. 2 stars down are for this 👆🏼 and sometimes for cleaners.

This is the best run family ski Hotel in Austria. The staff are exceptional. The hotel is run by Mr. Johann Huber and his beautiful wife and fantastic staff. We have been going there for a number of years and all the staff remember you, you are treated like family and best of all you step out of the hotel straight onto the slopes. There is always great skiing conditions for all abilities, with a fun or serious for some competition on a Friday. The hotel is clean, the food is exceptional in fact too much of it so you have to ski hard to lose all the good food eaten during your stay. The hotel is very accessible by a cable car from Lienz however you can drive up but its not necessary.
Awesome Awesome Hotel, fantastic skiing and great company with many returning customers year on year. Well done Mr. Huber. The ski school a few minutes walk form the hotel has fantastic instructors that have been with them years and again so convenient nothing is far and the slopes are safe for all abilities.
