From the outside it gets a « Wow ». A lovely building right by the lake with a pretty terrasse. However inside the enthusiasm diminishes. The public area is quite stark but I must say the reception staff were very friendly and efficient. The corridors are bleak...More
We picked this hotel because of its location and the photos of the rooms on Booking.com. It is rated 4 stars. We checked in and found a room that hadn’t been renovated in decades, was dirty musty. The bathrooms have mould growing between the sink,...More

This hotel is in a beautiful spot overlooking the lake, and whilst it can't be denied that it requires some updating, our room was perfectly acceptable - spotlessly clean, fantastic shower and plenty of hot water, lovely view of the lake, and as many people...More
Lovely hotel. Spotlessly clean. Staff friendly and welcoming. Food excellent and breakfast plentiful. Views beautiful. Will certainly return. Excellent value for money. Unfortunately no indoor swimming pool and outdoor pool was not open due to season

Left there yesterday. We had room 265. It was refurbished and ok. We had a balcony overlooking the lake. Yes there is a busy road outside but it is not very busy late at night. The bathroom could have done with modernising and the seal around the bath was mouldy but the shower was actually fine. The bed really comfy. Plenty of wardrobe space. The common areas upstairs were a bit shabby and I guess from the comments so are some of the older rooms. The whole hotel was really clean. The pool man spent hours every day getting every spec from the pool. Our room was spotless every day and clean white towels changed daily.
The breakfast was great. As much as you wanted and everything including Glutin free cereals and soya free dairy. The staff try really hard to make your stay as enjoyable as they can. Belgirate is a bit dead and public transport isn't very regular. Especially in the evening but unusually for the area they have plenty of parking. We had a lovely stay and I would happily return.
