This was my first solo trip abroad. I booked this hotel,as,it was a reasonable deal, for the 3 days I had planned. What can I say? On 1st sight, entering the reception area, beautiful. Such a clean, quirky, pretty lobby. Receptionist was very friendly, and, told me,in my room were a bottle of water, and, hot drinks..free. My room was on the 2nd floor, down a long corridor, where, the lights came on,as you passed. My room was beautiful, clean, spacious, modern ,again,quirky..just dreamy. Breakfast was in a beautiful, clean room. Tables set out nicely, usual suspects for breakfast, cereal, toast, pastries, cheese, ham, bacon, etc…fresh juices, and,a hot drinks machine, staff were very polite, and, attentive. The hotel itself,is a stone throw away from a beautiful beach. Ricks bar on an evening, lovely atmosphere, nice staff, and, good drinks. If you’re visiting here, and, need a lovely hotel to stay in,this place is a must! It’s close to the beach, bars, and,an assortment of restaurants. Hoping to revisit soon.

Nice, clean, basic room, perfect for my need. Great location, 5 minutes walk from the stunning Monte Gordo beach. Tasty breakfast, with a good selection. Helpful staff. I didn't get a chance to visit before the refurbishment, but I would definitely return.

Not a bad hotel, pool not open, and can see why some people have criticised the decor. They have gone for the polished plaster look, I hope they haven't paid a fortune because it's really badly done, and having done it myself I wouldn't have hung round for payment as I'd be too embarrassed.Staff are nice, breakfast good, no cupboards in the room,

Well firstly the good points. Staff are extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfast very good choice with lovely fresh rolls. However the bad points out ride the good. Hotel decor is awful and walls look very unfinished. Seating areas are extremely uncomfortable. Our room was absolutely dreadful. Very basic with no drawer space and an open wardrobe the rail of which broke when we first arrived as well as the toilet seat. Upside was when we complained to reception the maintenance man was up within 5 mins. Bathroom awful with stained floors and the bottom of the bathroom door rotten away. Not the standard that any hotel should offer anyone. Furniture on small balcony was cheap plastic which was very stained. Complained to reception to be told all rooms the same, which I found hard to believe. She did offer to move us nearly a week later but frankly no point. In addition buckets outside door and in hallways when it rained. Unfortunately the bad points certainly out way the good and this hotel sadly does not deserve it's 3 star status.

Thoroughly enjoyed staying in this hotel. The staff were lovely. Friendly, helpful and looked after us well. Our room was clean and spacious. The bed was comfortable and there was plenty of hot water in the bathroom. We got the sun on our balcony all day and could even see the sea. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice. I particularly loved the fresh rolls. We ate out every night so I can’t comment on dinner. The bar was cosy and drinks very reasonably priced. It’s perfectly situated a few minutes from the beautiful beach and very close to plenty of bars and restaurants.

Visited Casablanca Unique Hotel September/October for 3 weeks. Great to be back to our favourite hotel in Monte Gordo after 18 months away due to refurb. Warmly greeted by Carine, Ulyana and Edgar as usual. Certainly different but same good food and daily snacks from Damien and his staff, breakfast good and plentiful rooms much brighter but still have Arabic feel. Overall holiday perfect including wall to wall sunshine for 3 weeks. Looking forward to returning soon Mike and Jacqui

This is a Moroccan styled hotel, hence the name!!. I loved the rustic décor throughout the hotel from reception, bar area (named "Rick's", from the film) dining area and my room. The style is minimalistic but beautifully done. The staff are what make this hotel special, can't do enough for you, always done with a smile, great advice on what to do and see which just made that extra special difference. Breakfast was plentiful and always beautifully presented with English, Continental, choice of fresh fruit, hams and cheeses. I was there on a B&B basis, so they had a 3 course evening meal with two options per course available for 15 Euros but we chose to eat out most nights and just had the odd bar snack in "Rick's" on other days. I have only two minor complaints, only 1 lager available (Heineken) in the bar but it was cheap so not really a problem, and the swimming pool. We had a period of rain most days, not for very long but it meant the pool turned green from the Algae, so the lovely photo you see above was nothing like what it was like for me, as it was just not chemically treated properly to clear the pool quickly of its green tinge, so I did not see anyone using it as a result. It was a quiet Hotel, exactly what I was looking for, just wanting to relax and de-stress which this experience provided, and yes we went right at the end of the season, so Monte Gordo was quiet too. I can fully recommend this hotel, even if your criteria doesn't exactly match mine.

The staff are helpful and friendly whilst still professional. Updated rooms keep the original rustic appeal of the hotel. We have visited several times and find the hotel very nice. Nothing is too much trouble. The breakfast is buffet style and you choose as much as you want. The beach is magnificent and there is a railway station 20mins walk away that will take you all along the algarve.
